Just watched Adam Conover (of Adam Ruins Everything) make such a solid point that I think we should spread far and wide. Yes, having AI write your emails is lazy, sure, but people love being lazy. We need to really emphasize that sending AI emails (or using AI responses on social media, or publishing AI flyers, or or or) is rude.

It's rude. You're making someone take their time to read something you couldn't bother to write. You're telling them they were so unimportant you couldn't be bothered to actually take the time to say something yourself. And frankly, you're lying about it while you're at it.

It's rude.

The above is doubly true if the content of the email is something that will be important to the person receiving - especially something that affects them negatively. They see that this thing that affected them so much didn't matter enough to you to write it yourself. I was a bystander to such a thing not long ago and it was just awful.

If it's a female character she has too little substance to be considered interesting but if it's a male character he can show up for five minutes in the background doing absolutely nothing and suddenly he's the most interesting compelling character of all time

#this is the reason i’m so delighted by how popular clea dessendre is #because she only has a few minutes of screen time #(yes her fingerprints are everywhere in the game but the screentime is very minimal)#and normally you can only achieve that level of popularity in those circumstances by being a guy #clea showed up for five minutes and declared loudly I DON’T WANT TO BE IN THIS STORY #and still ended up so beloved by many #and i think that’s beautiful #but in every other scenario YES all of the above and it drives me mad
