I'm not familiar with ModCo, I've only learned about it when researching for the TSR video because a bunch of people were talking about it. But I'm getting some info in the DMs

Hi please do a video on curseforge and the fact that they also dropped artists without an email or anything. Also I saw a comment on your video that said modco owed someone over $7000.

Mod co is ran by the old management team. The team that ran the budget into the ground and made it so no other artist could be promoted at tsr. They gave all their friends raises and gave some artists awful pay rates compared to their friends. Now they’re doing the same at Modco and using this tsr thing as a way to get subscribers. It’s a bit shady that they started to promote their club mod just after it happened.

Also the old management warned artists that tsr would be looking at removing some FAs at the end of 2023. Then they left. They didn’t want anyone to hate them so instead of fixing the budget. They left to start Modco. So this whole idea that they wasn’t warned is false. They just couldn’t remember the year before when it all came out.

If you’re going to do a video on tsr and its artists. You also need to talk about the shadiness of modco

I personally don't use any CC sites other than personal artists' sites or Patreon so I don't know much about anything. All I said in the video is based on the conversations I had with artists and the proof they sent me

The Sims Resource Featured Artist

I've seen the post of a few Sims CC creators being kicked out the TSR Featured Artist group after years of creating for the site. If any of you affected want to chat about it I'd love to make a part 2 of my video (where I brought up the financial troubles of the parent company) so that I can talk about this happening too. Especially cause I believe not a lot of people know this is happening!

Call To Action

Normally I try to mind my own business and Keep my Ps and Qs but seeing what is happening to people I speak with and people I adore, I will stand 10 toes down for them!

Recently, TSR has demoted atleast 70 artist in a fell swoop. These artist were given no warning, no explanation as to what happened, no opportunity to rectify their situation, all they got was a half baked standardised email.

What TSR does not realize is that there is power in the people. Many of the artist let go are staples of our community!! ThisIsThem, Remus, ShakeProductions, the list literally goes on. Understand that these artists had no pledge of exclusivity to TSR. They are not owned by TSR. They have paid for works that are uploaded there but not for everything the creator makes. Imagine working for a company loyally for 10+ years and then being fired without a word.

What they seem to not realize either is that they have now taken away many people's source of income. I know some believe creators shouldn't make income from CC but that is the whole point of TSR tbh. And now they are making it difficult for artist to remove their creations because its apparently abusive to other artist. So now they have fired many wonderful folks, put them out of jobs, but will continue to profit from them!!

This is my call to action for the simmers of the community I create for and adore. Support these creators elsewhere! I have canceled my TSR Vip and will no longer upload there. If others follow suit, it's what they deserve. They need to understand that TSR is nothing without its loyal artist and if they wish to act so carelessly, they need to see that we wont take it lying down!

At this moment, we're counting 68 featured artists who have been let go by TSR without prior notice through a lousy copy&paste e-mail without any explanation, on a friday evening.

Not everyone is in the privileged situation of having moved on already though.

Sadly Remus isn't the only cherished creator in our community that has been dealt this shit hand of cards by the TSR team. Many hard working lovely folks have been stripped of their titles in such a demeaning way. Our creators deserve better, especially ones that are the foundation of our community. The even crappier part is that it is hard to have creations removed from TSR so they will continue to profit from creators they no longer support. If you wish to support these creators, I encourage you to support them on any platform other than TSR!!

I am sorry to those who exclusively download from this place. I have cancelled my VIP as well. I believe that creators are the backbone of the Sims community and that CC websites like this one, would not be successful without its wonderful creators. In the future, Patreon and SimFileShare will be the main places to download my creations.
