and ardyn referencing jesus continues the inheritance subplot with Noctis becoming a jesus figure as well (and Ardyn becoming an antichrist, which is interestingwhile jesus was stabbed with a spear to prove he was dead ardyn was stabbed repeatedly to show he cant die and the person who put the finishing blow on noctis was his father like how jesus and his father plus the throne room resembles a cathedral

interesting thoughts— I don’t know much about (Christianity?) myself, but I do know a lot about Nomura, and he seemed to want to create a Jesus-gone-wrong with Ardyn, which would make Somnus Judas. I don’t know about calling him the anti-christ, what with his history— but I do see where you could possibly see Lucifer in him— a holy being with a name meaning, essentially, light, falling from grace.

on ardyn alluding to jesus I have to point out noctis allusions to jesus christ with him being the king of kings and dying to rid the world of the scourge etc. ardyn could be described as the antichrist which is often portrayed as a demonic parody of jesus so it fits for the antichrist to have jesus allusions/references ( to be an evil jesus as lots of people call ardyn )
