Hi. Long time no post. And no more posts, very likely. I know I shouldn't do this, but my man and the father of my baby died today and I can't sleep. I have no emotions, only physical panic. I don't know, I guess I want the world to know the pain. He overworked for months for us and today he got his last work done and was supposed to be at home with our son six months, but he died apparently of a heart attact, and I don't want to believe this is true.

Hi! Just lurking here occasionally, but we're alive, though utterly sleepless, and planning for the first birthday party! 🥰 Already, how is that even possible 😳 I think I have once opened the game within the last year...

Thihii, nothing sims related, but to those who knew and followed this and may have wondered during this long silence what happened, the baby is now two days old! We're both mostly fine, but we'll be in the hospital for some time. It was kinda rough 😅 I won't be sitting at the computer for a looong while... 🙈

Questioning my life choices here 🙈 Why did I ever try to fix my game in the first place? I should have known it'll never work any better 😔 I've been tweaking my worlds lots without Seasons and rebuilt one of the two lots that went missing. I just never found their back up nor previous uploads anywhere. Luckily they were the smallest ones of the lots. My EiG finally works (woop woop! 🥳), but I don't do much with it, as I can't install any worlds for an unknown reason. The game crashed when I checked the dive lot (Oooh the world has a dive lot...), so I went to decorate the island hotel. Turns out Ctrl+Shift now crashes the game, so I can't set up custom hotel rooms. Maybe I just reverse the lot to a regular community lot 🤷🏼‍♀️

Oh, it's been snowing a few days and the temperature is below zero, so the Spring is yet again cancelled 🥶 The greenhouse is covered in snow and I have my 21 dahlias and 40 ranunculus indoors. We all can't wait to get out and the Spring to come!

I'm being too lazy and spending my days on the computer, which gets a bit boring when I get so little done because nothing really works and everything is a fight, and my sugars are too high 😬

I really should go out, but nothing fits me anymore. I look like a huge sausage in my new (big), long winter coat even with the pockets open 😂

I built this lot as a request, but the person asking for it never answered, so I’m doing whatever want with it, yey!

This image was given as a reference, and I just liked the building so much that I wanted to recreate it. The pic seems to be stolen so many times, that I can’t find the original. This should be a link, but stealing nevertheless. Okay it’s not a link, so I’m just stealing the picture from here.

So here’s a white American farmhouse and a stable with three pastures, a shelter and an outdoor arena. It’s CC free and just a shell, so you’ll have to decorate it yourself. Let me see what you do with it! ^^

The stable is attached to the house, but the wall is partly leveled to the base level. This should cause no problem but in the wall visibility in the stable when on the ground floor.

Honestly, I like better “the other version” of the building, but having some CC windows will help a lot. I think I’ll use this build in my game too, with massive amounts of CC. Wait for pics.

I have a hard time adjusting my new screen and it’s settings, and I haven’t made any changes to ReShade, so the colors might be waay too saturated on other peoples games.

Because nothing more important works in my game, I decorated "the other version" for upload. It's furnished except for a big room upstairs, I ran out of inspiration. CC free, uses possibly all EP's except for Seasons and some farm themed Store items. The stable has room for five horses and a tack room. There's four FogEmitters for effects.

Because of the split level the stable wall is wonky where it connects to the house, but I tried my best to hide it.

A week later and here I am after my "kind of an announcement".

I got the PC back up, because I had to. And as the stubborness and adhd hyperfixation had already kicked in (and the electricity costs were close to normal! For real 😲), I spent five days more fighting with the game with the help of some lovely people in Creators Cave, and it works now. Thank you so much! 💗 Even CAW's EiG is working, for the first time ever! I'm over the moon! 😍 I might get at least one world ready finally 😭 (SuperCAW does not work though, Windows refuses to install it). And I got rid of EA App and the remnants of Origin.

I got carried away while almost Vanilla game and created a loner pet and plant lover. I came across a flower arraging mod I had no idea about, and now she has a huge garden and a flower shop. I'm still missing Seasons, but a friend of mine has a copy, but I don't trust the Finnish Post to delivered it safely, so it might take a while to get it.

When taking pictures I realized I have forgotten how to! 😂 I found nothing with Google, but I'm sure there was a way to have the camera move freely without being stuck on the current floor level, which was able to zoom super close and even inside objects. It wasn't a mod? Some button I have to press? How have I forgotten? 🤔

I still have all Store content to install. It's waiting for my decision about how. Via Launcher as ment, as packages or as decrappified versions, or what. I have to study the options. I may even make a poll, because I use heavily Store items on my uploads and would like them to be as easy as possible to download and use.

Kinda announcement, more like a rant. Propably will change my mind eventually and delete this post.

I think I might be finally done with the Sims and it's continuos problems. I have no time (though I have nothing but time), energy or mental capacity to fix things anymore, and I can't afford to use the computer. I'm currently on a long sick leave with zero income until my maternity leave. I was just diagnosed with pregnancy diabetes, I can hardly move and have gained almost 20kg (I used to be under 50kg, so that's a lot!). And there's still three months to due date 😱 To top that, they do medical examinations in case I have some sort of epilepsy, and Topi the dog has just gotten two seizures, wich means he likely has Canine Epileptoid Cramping Syndrome like his two uncles.

I just don't know how to fix the game anymore, I have lost all basic skills being away from the computer for one and a half year. I uninstalled and reinstalled the games because the effing EA App wouldn't open nor let me play, and I was sick of EIG not working. But now the game won't start (my only hint is the code 0x0175dcbb), and for some reason I'm missing my Seasons disk, like I haven't cherished them for a decade! So I'm done for now.

I would still like to lurk around here, cause I enjoy watching your posts, but atm it feels like rubbing salt in my wounds. And I have plenty of them in my finger tips right now, testing sugar levels six times a day from someone who practically has no bloodflow in the extremes results in plenty of unnecessary stings. Anyway, with this kinda mental and physical health I ought to stay away from the computer and try to exercice 🙈 Better leave this with a joke, don't know what else to say. But have a nice Spring 💗 The next night should be the last below zero in here, and I have dozens of tulips planted in the front yard waiting for the ground to melt 😁

Edit: So I broke my Steam games too while at it, so I had no reason to use the whole PC again. Currently reinstalling Windows. I hope I backed up everything... A friend of mine found her copy of Seasons... 😏

I like off topicking and can't play anyway, so I thought I'd mention a funny thing.

The electricity costs today more than 2€ per kWh at peaks. I started my hiatus last winter because of the electricity prices. Now I have one light on in the kitchen and I can't cook, because using the oven is so expensive 😂 This is Finnish politics to you 😁 I can just hang around doing nothing, but if your heating system is electric, today only may cost you the amount of the average months electricity. And you can't turn the heating down even a little bit, because the water pipes will freeze in these -25 degrees. Oh, and we broke our 21st century freezing temperature record with -44,3 degrees in Enontekiö yesterday 🤩🥶

I had some serious fun and a feeling of success when the river started to freeze <3 This was just done with Super CAWs Pond Tool, which I finally learned how to use.

Unfortunately, my first tester sim burned herself immediately and died. The lot was also full of tourists that were stuck before the fire, which kept spawning and spawning though I kindly got rid of them. Second tester learned how to skate, and I have never realized before how terrible the skating animation is! XD Some sims decided to slip around in high heels rather than skate, but that's their problem.

Yeah now that it's there it doesn't seem so big of a deal, but the atmosphere would be so wrong without ice.

A desperate question 🙈 Does anybody know of an updated and understandable tutorial for creating water planes in CAW?

I've found plenty of older tutorials with links and more links to stuff that no longer work or aren't available (which is remarkable, because last time I fought with Super CAWs water planes, I never came across importing water planes in a secure way and now I learn it's an old thing...) or that are simply so vague that I can't follow them even to begin with. When you can't understand you can't understand, and there's not much you can do, I guess, but it's not like I'm gonna give up now that know about this! 😂 Even the sea freezes in Finland in the winter, so I really need water planes for all my worlds... 🙈

The furthest I got with flstriders tutorial, like I think I understand what I'm reading, but I can't even find the SandrineD's Hex generator, so I'm already stuck there 🤦🏼‍♀️ So frustrated and feeling like an idiot, but it'll be worth it, if it ever works...

Winter greetings from a happy and relaxed small tonttu! 😊🧑🏻‍🎄

I've been focusing on dollhouse miniatures in my spare time after closing the computer for good. After finishing the thesis I've been only popped on the computer for other finishing touches before the graduation (29.11. 🥳) and job seeking. The electricity price is currently around 30 cents at its lowest and up to 60 in its highest, plus some peaks of 80 cents. Plus the ridiculous transfer price and taxes, which they now lowered from 24% to 10% since the start of December till some spring month, which is really nothing and might actually just add to the rising of the prices.

So no simming before Christmas! It's rather fun to be forced to spend time off the computer, and beneficial in many ways. Though I'm pretty much missing the advent calendars and Secret Santa... But gosh I'd need painting advice from the Sims! 😂 I'm planning my dollhouses and repainting them again and again cause the colours are somehow off. It'd be so much easier to build the house in the Sims and test various colour schemes there, rather than painting the houses several times. And creating a Christmassy cosy feeling is so much faster in the Sims than real life 😆

Woop, off topicing again!

The last 13 hours of my two year thesis project are at hand. I have a MASSIVE job to do and I just can’t seem to do it. I came here to find something else to think in order to avoid having a panic attack, because, well, that won’t help me at all and I’d rather not start having panic attacks again.

After the thesis there’s only the maturity test and a small English presentation left from a course ages ago. Then I’d finally graduate. But if I don’t get the thesis done today, that’s it.

So any tips and encouragement are welcomed 💗😭😭😭

But. I will soon be on hiatus for an unknown period, because after less than two weeks I can no longer afford to play the sims 😅

Or do much anything else either. Our electricity contract will end and I'm going to spend the next winter in a rather cold house lighten by candle light. Luckily we have oil heating, which was super expensive already, but it's already paid and uses very little electricity. Luckily too I'm a history geek and gonna enjoy the ride before the last fall and do handycrafts while waiting for the society to crash. I just don't know how am I ever going to graduate, if I can't afford to use my computer. I'm currently "out of job" (with three zero hour contracts!) so I've been hyperventilating a bit for the past two weeks. I'll be actively lurking on Tumblr though 😆

(So yeah, don't trust the Finnish goverment when they say Finland is a rich country and pours lended money to everywhere else than within it's borders. I expect there to be half a million new homeless by the next Summer and a high rise in suicide rates if things go on like they look like to right now. Hope not to be one them..? 🤞)

The land of the fennec foxes

I wanted to share this because this amuses and puzzles me in so many levels. I don’t how my 7 years old niece knew I was making an amusement park in TS3, my sister must have told her, but when she was here once she asked me if it was ready (not in the next three years, honey) and if I could show it to her. I showed it in CAW and in game. While in game there happened a rather scary looking glitch where my tester child turned in to a some kinda spider like black monster. My niece had to leave before I could fix it.

Then she came back the next time, eyes glowing: “Did you manage to fix the child?” Yes, I did, and I even recreated the glitch! I changed her dress and she returned to normal, but when I put her back sitting the chair (that was on OMSP resizer), she turned in to a spider again, but I didn’t save the game. She asked if we could fix the glitch. Like really, to solve out what caused it and then fix it for it to never happen again. I was so proud but I had to turn her down, our skills and knowledge combined couldn’t find the reason nor fix it. She was okay with it. But I opened CAW and a small flat world. She’s just started school and can hardly handle the mouse (she used her left hand! Yo, I’m a proud left handed aunt) and she started testing. She learned the very basics of sculpting and terrain painting. Luckily she was happy with the terrain paints available, or we would have spent the rest of the evening choosing the paints out of my hundreds of paints. Then I asked her, if she wanted to place some trees. This is where the story of the world started to develop, she was no longer just randomly testing. She knew well enough that all these plants do not grow in the desert nor do they all grow together, and it didn’t matter. She was happy. I tried not to laugh while looking at her, because I was paying more attention to her joy of discovery and learning and creating than what she was really doing. Then she had to leave, but first she named the world as The land of the fennec foxes and I saved it. Shes just like me, but better. I’m certain she has ADHD too, but she’s not yet a perfectionist like her aunt. I don’t know which one of us learned more while this short session in CAW together.
