᛫ The firstborn and only son of this generation’s pureblood Malfoy family, Lucius is born into the social elite of the wizarding world and quickly becomes their silver prince.
᛫ He is born popular. Mothers fawn over his hair as though it is spun from white gold, fathers toast the elegant savagery laid bare behind his diamond eyes. Teachers favor him for his natural aptitude in charms, history, the darks arts, and potions, while students both awe and quiver at the boy who would be king. He is never alone, surrounded by sycophants and supporters alike, true friends a rarity — somewhat of his own devising.
᛫ It’s during his last few years at Hogwarts that he develops a fascination with the Dark Arts, not wholly unfamiliar with dark magic since his childhood. He starts up a clandestine business selling dark potions and curses to students in search of *blameless* retribution, forever operating in the shadows and wreaking havoc from the comfort of his dormitory. When word of the pseudo-business reaches his professors’ ears, another innocent falls prey to his scheming and takes the blame for him instead.
᛫ Once graduated from Hogwarts, Lucius expands his family's business, collecting and dealing Dark artifacts to worthy buyers, and purveying potions of his own making, various curses he'd devised, and the sordid secrets of others.
᛫ Soon enough, a bloom of greed takes root in his mind, and he desires little more than to reform the house of Malfoy in his image: to capitalize on their strengths, solidify their connections, and eliminate all weaknesses, to cement the Malfoy family as not just one of the great Wizarding families, but the great Wizarding family — not just wheel and deal in the trade of Dark Artifacts, regardless of the gold it brought in.
᛫ At twenty-one, he kills his father with the mere slip of a potion crafted by his own hand. The first year of his ‘reign’ is cut short when a small coup, led by his uncle (once a favorite, now a foe) and increasingly impressionable mother, arrange for Lucius to be stolen off into the night and taken into Edin’s ruthless arms.
᛫ To the rest of the Wizarding World, it is a natural progression to the conquerings of the Malfoy family; after all, it is only fitting that such a family would sink their teeth into yet another magical agency. However, there are still some who quietly support him and believe that there’s a certain truth to the story hidden by chandeliers and smoke.
᛫ Although his family history has forever been intertwined with the magical dark, Lucius makes it a point to appear relatively neutral in regards to blood purity. It’s largely an act, of course — he’s undoubtedly partial to blood purists — but, for the sake of relaying information back to his supporters about possible threats and plots, he keeps up the pretense to play both sides fairly equally.
᛫ To say he is a ‘spy’ is only partially accurate — currently, he is simply an opportunistic sort, eyes set on nothing but the extent of his own skin. He is willing to commit himself to a cause as long as the highest bidder is behind it all. Though he does not know where the weaving twists and turns of his path through Edin will lead, Lucius is forever plotting, examining the world around him as a chessboard if only to claim his rightful checkmate.
