Inside the pouch are 10 rings, 6 rocks painted like easter eggs, and a scary-looking key. Where does the key open up to? Nobody knows. But the rings might be useful! Unfortunately, they are not travel rings.

... What are they supposed to do with these things? Rings and pretty painted rocks don't help Cobalt find a way out, and that key looks scary. Where does it even go? To a scary door?

... They put everything back in the pouch, then pout. They used up their energy for pretty much nothing.

I had a random dream of being in a small Chao Garden with you in there, Silver ..and a weird hedgehog with leopard spots....I have no idea who that was nor what any of this means...

"Uuh, why are you telling me this? How get in here, and how did you find me??"

((Crab Anon’s modified dnd encounter: 2 continued. Sorry for the late reply.))

As one of the toad hops into the dark pond, a shadow can be seen inside. Looking down at the bottom of the pond, past the schools of wield looking koi fish, is a small tied up leather pouch. It looks a little deep to get it though.

"(What that? That hard to see. Look like pouch.)" The Chao's curiosity is piqued. How did a pouch wind up in the water? Was somebody here before?

Cobalt wants to get it, but even if they can swim, the water looks too deep, and the fish look... kind of scary. How could they get it..?

"Oh!" They just remembered something! They used their own psychic powers to lift up a big slice of pizza before, maybe they could use those same powers to get the pouch!

Cobalt doesn't have much experience using these powers, so they hoped it would work. They concentrate, focusing on the pouch and lifting it out of the water, soon, although it was difficult, the Chao did manage to get the pouch levitated out of the water and bring it to their nubs.

They did it! They did it! They retrieved the pouch! They're so proud of themself! Dada would be too! ... If he was here...

Doing that left Cobalt tired... They float down until they sat down on the floor to rest.

What could be in the pouch? Would it help them find Dada..?

In Cobalt’s left side there is a natural swampy pond in the middle of a large room. It has 8 toads either swimming in it or resting beside it. There is a fishing rod and a bucket full of fish bait resting on the room walls.

Cobalt doesn't like this creepy place. Everything looks the same, and the hallways never seem to end, some of them even leading to more hallways.

Why did Willo lead them to this place? Why did she lead Cobalt away from Dada? Unless... that wasn't Willo. She wouldn't do something like this to her friends, would she..?

...

They want to go home! They want Dada!

Their pace quickens as they flew through more of the hallways crying out for Dada in hopes he hears them. They keep doing so, until they stumbled upon a room unlike the others. Half the room (to their left) is a pond, the other half isn't. Their cries stop as they stare, unsure of what they're seeing. Ponds can be in buildings too..?

Cobalt noticed the fishing rod and bucket of bait to the wall on their left, but they don't know what they're meant for. However, the toads caught their interest. They go over.

They pick one up to look at it, wondered if these 'frogs' got stuck here too, before putting it down again to let it hop into the water. They sat down to watch them.

Both potion has been lifted from their obelisks. Turns out that the potions were holding a button under them. *Click* *Click*

The left room starts to shake. Then the right room shake. Suddenly the floor collapses into a deep pit. A faint sound of fallen scaffolding can be heard at the bottom of the pit. Thankfully, Silver has the ability to levitate and he now has the both potions in his hands.

"WOAH!" After catching himself, the hedgehog made sure to fly himself to safety, both potions in hand. Once he reaches floor again, he looks down in the new pit. "Okay, that's what that sign meant if I only took one."

It sort of reminded him of that one trope of a trap activating when an adventurer takes a treasure from a pedestal. Good thing Silver has his powers to keep himself safe.

Now that he has both potions in his possession, he thought about which one he should take. He has no idea what either of them do. One or both could help him, or kill him. It could be another trap. It could not be.

If only there was a way to tell.

"I wish that sign explained what they did. I just want to find my Chao already."

In a large room, there are two cylinder obelisks far apart from each other. The left obelisk has a pink potion on top, while the right obelisk has a green potion. In the middle of said room, is a sign that says ‘Take one, the other gets destroyed.’

((You can choose who is encountering the room, otherwise flip a coin to see who’s encountering the room.

(Heads = Silver, Tails = Cobalt). ))

"This place is like a maze..." Silver thought aloud. "How far did Cobalt go in? They shouldn't have gone far. Huh?"

He came across the large room in question. He drew closer to the sign to gauge what it says. "'Take one. The other gets destroyed.'"

Silver looked back and forth between the two potions. The pink potion reminded him of Amy, while the green potion reminded him of Surge. He is unsure which one he should take, as what if both potions could help him find Cobalt?

Then a thought crosses his mind: He has psychic powers. What's stopping him from taking both?

Both were levitated off the obelisks, the pink potion is taken first, then the green one. It feels like cheating, but it was mostly to see what would happen if he took both as it's been uneventful so far.

((Crab Anon here. I have three questions about the “No hostile monsters native to The Backrooms will spawn” bit.

1. Can any monster appear outside of The Backrooms lore? (I don’t know about the backrooms lore very well, but I do know DnD, and the backrooms are sort of like a dungeon. )

2. Is it okay that I roll for a random encounter IRL, and then modify it based on what the encounter is and who’s meeting it. (It won’t be a fight unless you allow it.)

3. Does it MUST be hallucinations?

((1. I've seen a Backrooms parody animation that featured .exes as the entities in place of the Backrooms monsters, also, this is being done for fun, so I say: why not?

2. Yes for this too, but no hostile monsters. I have no plans to kill anyone off and I want to keep it that way.

3. They don't have to be hallucinations unless you want them to be. The hallucinations are meant to drive the characters in the wrong direction.))

((With the start of the Backrooms arc, I should mention some things:

Silver and Cobalt can be interacted with separately even if they are separated. You can either help them reunite by leading them in the right direction, or mess with them a little, but they can't be reunited via anon magic, they have to find each other themselves.

They aren't the only ones stuck in The Backrooms, Willo might be somewhere in here too, but who finds her first? Hmm...

No hostile monsters native to The Backrooms will spawn, but hallucinations might be seen or heard...))

Lost in the Backrooms

"Did you find her?" Silver asks Cobalt. The Chao shakes their head. "She has to be around here somewhere... unless that crab lied to me. We should've found her by now."

Silver and Cobalt paid a visit to the Emeraldville Ruins to look for their Wisp companion, Willo after getting some things taken care of back at home. The duo spent several minutes, maybe an hour searching for her, but neither had any luck.

With Silver having his psychokinesis back and Cobalt's flight skills, they should've found her by now, unless she didn't want to be found... Maybe she fled to somewhere away from Emeraldville Ruins. Hopefully that's not the case.

There was one place they have yet to check: an abandoned clothing shop that was still intact. If Willo isn't anywhere in there, they'd have to check another location. Silver hoped the Wisp was hiding in there. He just wants to let her know he's not mad at her for what she almost did earlier. She was under the influence of some terrible anon magic. He didn't blame her.

Once they enter, Cobalt was hit with a bad vibe, putting the Chao on edge. Something about this place didn't feel right, but they wanted to find Willo more than they wanted to leave.

Silver himself also has a bad feeling about this clothing shop, enough of a bad feeling to make his quills stand on end. "Stay close, Cobalt. Something about this place feels... wrong."

No need to tell Cobalt twice. They were practically glued to Silver as they both cautiously checked the place out, making sure to check every room thoroughly for their Wisp companion while on high alert.

"Willo! If you're here, please come out! I'm not mad at you! It's not your fault you acted like that! Just come out so we can go home!" Silver shouted, making sure to be loud enough for Willo to hear, if she was around. "I know you're feeling guilty, but I don't blame you for what you've almost did! Come out! Please..."

He waits for a response, but got nothing. Not even a whimper. Willo must not be here then... "She's not here, Cobalt. Let's go."

While the Chao was glad to finally be leaving this eerie place, they were disappointed they couldn't find Willo...

However, as they were leaving, Cobalt thought they saw the back of Willo turn a corner. Without letting Silver know, they take off after her.

Silver sighed after exiting the building. "Man, that place gave me the creeps. Glad to finally be outta there. What about you, Cobalt?"

"Cobalt?" When Cobalt didn't respond, he checked behind him, only to find the Chao missing. They were behind him just a moment ago...

"Aw great." He goes back into the creepy building to find Cobalt. Why would the Chao come back in here? They were just as freaked out as Silver was during the search.

Unless... Cobalt saw Willo and forgot to let him know?

Something catches his attention after a few moments of searching:

A door that was not there before...

And it was ajar... Could that be where Cobalt went..?

As he approached the door, the bad feeling he had earlier got worse. He felt he shouldn't go in there, but if Cobalt wandered in there, then he had to go in. He's not leaving them behind.

Silver opens the door wider.

"What the..?" He stepped through the doorway, then scoped around.

"Is this supposed to be some sort of... backrooms?? But where are the clothes..?" He wondered aloud.

"Cobalt! Are you in here?!" He calls out, but no answer came. "Cobalt! Come out!" Still no response...

"They must be further in..." As Silver moved away from the doorway, he sees how much more vast these backrooms were. There were more hallways than he originally thought.

"How big is this place?! No way Cobalt could've wandered that far!" At some point, he stops feeling the breeze behind him.

Silver turned around, and to his horror, the door he just entered through is completely gone, replaced by an outline of where the door once was. "The door!" He rushed back to where the door was and started feeling for it, as if the door turned invisible and didn't just straight up disappeared.

"No no no no no no! It should still be here, right?? No way a door just vanishes in thin air like that!" But that was exactly the case. It's gone, as if it ceased to exist...

"How is that possible..?" Silver was silent for a while, then sighed. "Guess I have to figure out another way out..."

Hopefully, he can find Cobalt.

Misses every Chao we meet.

((Trust me, Silver does too, but he cares about Chao enough to respect them as their own individuals and to make their own choices. If he were to be selfish and treat any Chao like just pets without a will of their own, the Chao will be unhappy in his care, and he knows this.

It hurts to let them go, but he knows it's the right thing to do and the Chao would be happier that way. In addition, every Chao he helps will want to see him again one day, so it's not like he'll never see them again.))

*Meanwhile. The rock.*

"I'll go in to see if I have anymore slices of fruit. Maybe I'll put in a ice cube or two before heading to Emeraldville Ruins."

As Silver went to refill the crab's bowl, Cobalt went to check on Cado to see if the turtle was holding out okay. Meanwhile, the formerly flying rock plummets back to the earth, and struck a random Anon on the head.

Athena thinks for a bit. She remember that she saw Willo fly off into the Emeraldville Ruins, but she was too fast for Athena tiny legs to follow. She points to the direction of the Emeraldville Ruins.

She then notices that something is odd with their appearances but the hot sun beams were a bit too bright to tell.

Presuming that Silver still has his ice powers, Athena brings the now empty fruit bowl as she request for Silver to make some ice cubes to cool down next to.

"She went that way? That's towards... Emeraldville Ruins? You sure?" Odd, Silver never took the Wisp there, but then again, Willo likely wasn't looking where she was going.

"You want more fruit? I can get you some-" He paused when he noticed the color of the markings on his glove and cuff light as he reached for the bowl. "Wait..."

His fur is also different, does that mean..? "Am I imagining things?" He looks to a nearby rock. His index finger gives off a cyan glow as the rock levitates into the air.

"No I'm not! My powers are back to normal!" He pumped up a fist into the air, the same fist that had the glowing finger, making the rock go flying straight up, Silver completely forgetting he was levitating it.

Cobalt tried making more snow, but was disappointed when no snow appeared. "Aww..."

Athena sees Silver use the time stone as he, Cobalt and the chao go into the portal which closes, only to reopen a few seconds later. Silver and Cobalt jumps out of it. She notice the new chao is missing. Athena makes a ‘what happened?’ claw motion.

"The Chao is home, back with their friends." He answered the crab with a smile before looking to the sky. Silver already missed that Chao, but bringing them back to where they belong was the right thing to do. He loves Chao, and loves them enough to allow them to make their own choices.

Now that Silver and Cobalt were back home, he has a new objective. "Have you seen Willo, by any chance?" He asks, unaware he was gone for not even half-a-minute.

Any updates on future Chao?

"(If the Timey-Whimey rock brought Chao here, will it bring Chao home..?)"

"I believe so... You want to go home, don't you?"

"(Yeah... Chao miss friends. Chao friends might be wonder where Chao is right now. Chao friends might be worried about Chao. Hope friends are safe...)"

"I believe they are, don't worry. I can help you get home."

"(You help Chao go home..?)"

"Of course. I have my own Time Stone, so I know how they work." He gives back the Time Stone the Chao had. "Here. Focus on where you want to go, and a portal should open up."

"(Okay...)" The Chao looked hesitant, but they took back the blue Time Stone. They close their eyes and hoped, really hoped this works. They don't want to wind up in another cold place.

"(Chao... want go home to friends...)" The Time Stone glows, then shortly after, a time portal opens up.

"You did it!"

"(Ooh! Cool!)" Cobalt shouted.

"You can go home now!" Silver noted the Chao making no attempt to jump through the portal. "Chao?"

"(... Chao scared...)"

"Scared? But the portal should lead to your home."

"(What if it lead back to cold place?)"

"It shouldn't. I can promise you that."

"(... Come with Chao..? Just in case it don't..?)

Silver smiles. "Sure, I can go with you."

"(I come too!)" Cobalt piped up.

"No Coby, you have to stay here."

"(No! I coming too! I wanna see future!)"

"Cobalt, you can't. Taking you with me could cause some consequences in the timeline."

Cobalt gives him sad puppy eyes. "(Pwease Dada..? I promise I be good Chao...)"

"Don't give me those eyes." Try as he might, Silver couldn't bring himself to keep denying his Chao. "Ugh, fine, but you better stay close to me, and don't wander off. Understood?"

Cobalt instantly perked up. "(Okay!)" They fly up and cling to Silver's back.

"Want me to hold you too?" He asks the Chao.

"(Chao can walk fine. Mmm... maybe... just to be safe...)"

Silver scooped up the other Chao. "Alright, here we go. Hang on tight, both of you." Into the portal they all go.

Near instantly, they all arrived to their destination.

"This should be it, but you're the judge of that." He told Chao as he set them down.

Chao scanned the area slowly, making sure this is the right place. It was very familiar, but they weren't so sure. "Chao hope this right place...)"

"(Chao?!)" A voice familiar to Chao called out.

"(Chao back??)" Asked another voice.

"(Chao is back!)" A third voice called out.

Soon, a bunch of Chao came running and surrounded Chao.

"(Chao! You back!)"

"(You okay!)"

"(We so worried, Chao!)"

"(Where you go, Chao?! You disappear in hole!)"

Chao wanted to cry. "(Chao explain later. Chao really happy to be home with friends again.)"

"(We happy you home too, Chao!)" Chao is hugged by all their friends. Silver smiles, while Cobalt wanted to cry from the scene. He gives them pats to calm them down.

"(Who fluffy guy, Chao?)"

"(He look soft!)"

"I'm-"

"(Dum-Dum.)" Chao answered while smirking. "(He Dum-Dum.)"

"That's not my name! It's Silver, not Dum-Dum!" He counters.

"(Silver?)"

"(That a cool name!)"

"(Name sound familiar...)"

The Chao speak one after another.

"(Yeah! Dada name Silver! Not Dum-Dum!)" Cobalt piped up as they hovered down from Silver's back

The Chao speak amongst themselves once more.

"(Dada?)"

"(That Chao look just like him!)"

"(He good guy if that Chao is Hero Chao and look like him!)"

"(So cool!)"

Silver's initial plan of heading back as soon as Chao was dropped off fell through when Chao's friends were now crowding around him and Cobalt, forcing them to stick around longer than what was planned, but neither had a problem with it. They both stuck around and played with the Chao of the future for a while.

Even when Silver wanted to stay for a little longer, he knew he couldn't. Willo flew off somewhere, and he had to go back and find her. Chao somehow sensed this and came over. "(You going home now?)"

"Yeah. I'd love to stay longer, but I have a missing friend to search for in the past."

"(I understand.)"

Silver takes out the blue Time Stone to give back to Chao. Chao put their nubs up. "(No, you keep that.)"

"Really? You sure?"

"(Chao is sure. Time rock only caused trouble. No want to go back to cold place again. You keep it. It better with you.)"

Silver smiled. "(Alright then.)" He puts it away.

Shortly after putting away the Time Stone, Chao gave Silver a hug. "(Thank you very much for helping Chao, Silver.)"

"Heh." He hugs back. "You're welcome, Chao."

"(You visit Chao's home sometime, okay? Cobalt can come too, and maybe your other friend when find them.)"

"Alright, I will." Chao lets Silver go as he stood up. "Cobalt! We're heading home!"

Cobalt stopping chasing a Chao they were playing tag with. "(Awww, can't we stay longer, Dada?)"

"I'd love to stay too, Cobalt, but we have to go home to Willo."

"(Okay... Bye-bye, new friends.)" Cobalt waved to the Chao before heading back to Silver.

Silver waves to the Chao. "See you later, little Chao! And you too, Chao!"

"(Bye-bye, Dum-Dum- I mean Silver!)" Chao shouts as they waved too.

Silver gave them a look before playfully rolling his eyes. He takes out his own Time Stone and opens up a time portal to home. Him and Cobalt wave one more time before going into the portal.

There are soon back home, and whether it was the anon magic wearing off while they were in the portal or the weird temporal nature of the time portal itself, Silver's fur and markings along with Cobalt's have returned to their normal colors.

"So, Cobalt, what did you think of the future Chao Garden?"

"(Fun!)"
