Whelp, we all heard the man. If Silver looks like he has everything that could help him handle his... Unwellness, let's say, I go look for Jade, to make sure she's OK. Maybe go bother Tails for the wisp translator afterwards, if nobody else feels like it.

The trembling mass under the covers of Silver's bed could be where she's hiding.

FINALLY IT'S NOT ME

Woke up from a weird dream today and my first thought was "I wonder what else is out there in Sonic's brain."

We've seen the primary sense node, we've seen the emotional center, what else might Silver stumble up on?

My first thought was memory banks, but I'm a little worried about how Silver would navigate around in there. He's been pretty resillient in withstanding the onslaught that's Sonic's speed, but memories are a delicate, fragile matter and I don't know if we - both Silver and us readers - are ready for that.

My second thought was: Movement. A lot of invisible effort goes into making actions like typing or walking mindless, and I'd be quite intrigued to see Silver deal with that, though I'd understand if Sonic wouldn't be on board with that one.

Third: There are more than five senses. So... Where's the rest? Where's Sonic's sense of time? Where's his sense of limb position?

And last (but not least): Where are Sonic's thoughts?

Hehe worry not, I have been thinking about these things quite a lot since starting to write these fics.

For memory banks those sure are there! I didn't have a plan to write a fic that explored that aspect of Sonic's mind but... maybe I will. What I can say is that they look like organized fields of small, glowing orbs. There are multiple of these fields scattered around Sonic's mind with memories moving/being recalled constantly.

Oughhh yes Sonic has a motion section!! I do have a fic planned that explores this in more detail. If you thought that the emotional center and the sensory node were abstract ways of describing all of that just wait until I get my grubby hands on describing how Silver eventually figures out how to take control of Sonic's movements.

Sonic's thoughts is something I have been also thinking (heh) about. It's... well, I don't know why but I'm trying to stay away from them being able to outright read each other's thoughts. I think part of it is that I want there to be this sense of becoming one in a way, where they don't need to be able to read each other's thoughts in order work fluidly within one body. Of course, they can still get streams to one another emotions but that's a slippery slope that can end in feedback loops where both are left rather upset.

As for your question, it's a difficult one! I could probably pinpoint a scene that stuck out to me in all the games because every game probably has at least SOMETHING I liked in it, but we'll just stick with the one!

I think the ending to A Crack in Time has got to be my favorite! Orvus's speech and his last words paralleling Azimuth's "the universe has a cruel sense of humor" line, Azimuth's sacrifice and redemption, Clank joining Ratchet right before he leaves... it's a beautiful ending to a beautiful game, and the franchise has never really reached that level of peak for me ever since, story-wise.

Not to say I don't enjoy the games that come after, but A Crack in Time is just on a completely different level.

Making even closer relationships with the local staff. If that's even possible - I practically live in this establishment.

One of the newcomers broke my fragile little heart by trying to guess who Silver is. She named six characters and none of them were right. So I just sat there, trying to keep the frustration in and repeating "It's not her fault, you have a niche blorbo. It's not her fault, you have a niche blorbo." Wanted to tell her it was a good effort, but it came out more like a nice try.

Was too ashamed to come back, until today.

Both guys here immediately knew. One likes Shadow the most, the other was a big Scourge fan. Both are bad guys, so not exactly to my taste, but Shadow's nuanced and Scourge is niche, too, so we had a good chat. ^^ Mended my broken heart.

Wish me luck, so I can wake up at a reasonable hour and put in more time tomorrow.

((OOOOH! I like what you have done so far! The staff at that tearoom sound like pleasant people. The newcomer not knowing who Silver is does hurt me a little, but not everyone is familiar with the Sonic series. At least you had a nice chat with the two guys!

I... Don't actually think Wisps can eat??? Back on their home planet, they mostly just lived out in the nature... They're made of energy, and they seem to naturally replenish themselves after using some for Color powers. Though they CAN be completely drained of energy, which seems to entirely stop the regeneration and turn them into a Nega-Wisp. Let's maybe not do that.

Typically peaceful, playful, friendly and social creatures.

...No mention of food anywhere, but you could make some progress if you offer it a game? Maybe if Cobalt wants, you could take turns playing hide-and-seek. It's simple to learn, and since the Jade Wisp is already hiding, it might feel more comfortable with participating.

"I thought they eat since some Wisps have mouths, like Jade here."

"A game? Hm, that is true, Wisps do like to play... Maybe that won't be a bad idea. Hey, Cobalt, you want to play a little hide and seek?"

"Chao cha chao?"

"It's simple. One of us hides, while the other covers their eyes, counts, then seeks. You go hide while I count to ten. You can hide anywhere you want, just make sure to stay inside, you ready?"

"Chao!"

"Alright, here I go." Silver covers his eyes. "1... 2... 3... 4..."

Cobalt already finds a hiding spot: under the couch.

"9... 10! Here I come!" Silver uncovers his eyes and starts looking around. He already spotted Cobalt under the couch, but he pretends to not notice and started looking around. "Cobalt, where did you go? Coobaaalt."

He checks the rooms while calling out to the Chao. "Where are you hiding, you silly Chao?" Cobalt snickered from their hiding spot, meanwhile the Wisp is peeking halfway out to watch.

"Found you!" Cobalt giggled as they're found. "Alright, now it's your turn to find me. Count to ten, and no peeking."

"Chachao!" Cobalt covered their eyes. "Chao... chao... chao... chao..."

Silver just hid on the space on top of the fridge. Cobalt finished counting and starts looking for him, but it didn't take long for the Chao to find him. "Aww, you found me. Heh heh."

He climbed off the fridge and spotted the Wisp peeking out. It hides partway into its bucket upon being seen.

"Hey, do you want to play too?" Silver asked it softly. The Wisp came back out a little more, and nodded a little. "You seem like a good hider. How about you go hide while me and Cobalt seek?"

The Wisp nodded. "Alright." As soon as Silver and Cobalt covered their eyes and started counting, the Wisp didn't waste a second to go hiding. When the duo were finished counting, the jade Wisp was no longer in the pail.

Time to seek the Wisp, though a Wisp that can easily phase through things might prove to be a little trickier than initially thought.

Finished! Nice and colourful.

I didn't have the right shade of teal for Cobalt, the one I used for Silver's powers and shoes is too green and I had nothing bluer. Originally, I wanted to stick to the base Hero Chao colour scheme, but I wanted him to retain full colour. I hope you don't mind.
