âSure, Iâm sure youâll get some good material to work with, too,â Lila replied dryly and since their plates were full, they wandered over to some tables. âFacebook?â she repeated and wrinkled her nose. She wasnât actually on facebookâŠÂ âYeah, thatâs gonna be a problem. Iâll text you, then. I think thatâs a platform we can get behind.â She plopped down in a chair and swayed, fabric getting stuck under her feet since she rarely wore dresses. She cursed under her breath and very ungracefully dropped her plate down on the table. Her social graces needed some work.Â
âIâm hoping so for sure. Otherwise Iâll be stuck bored at home and having to tease her for like, standard sibling things. Like if she brings a boy home. Oh my god imagine if she was like the other professors who has a total thing for students? How hilarious wouldnât that be?â Angelica couldnât help but giggle at the idea. Oh god, thatâd be hilarious. âTexting works just fine. So yeah, hit me up on texts. Otherwise Iâll just come drape myself over you at school. That works too.â She threatened playfully with a gron on her face. Sitting down by the girl, she popped one of the bite sized objects into her mouth, chewing happily. âI wonder how the night is going to end up. You think someone will lose their masks?â
Lila walked up to the professorâs door and lightly rapped on it. âExcuse me, professor,â she began, doing her best to sound polite, nonchalant. He wasnât one of her professors, since she had zero interest in psychology, but she was looking for one of his fellows. âHave you seen Professor Davidson recently? Iâve been looking for him and emailing, but no response. Since his office is next door⊠thought⊠Iâd ask.â And now that she had, she felt completely idiotic. âYou know what- never mind. Itâs not a big deal. Iâll just⊠make something up.â She hated this stupid humanities class that was a prerequisite.Â
@silverlinedsinners
Oscar had been deep in reading papers made by the students when he heard the knock on the door, looking up and coming with a âyes, please come on inâ before the student started talking. âLawrence Davidson? Hmm...â Scratching his head a little, he wasnât too sure exactly when he last saw the other man. âWell, his office hours start in about thirty minutes I think, but I know it can be a drag to go from the student center and over here again just to get hold of him, so you can wait here. Youâll hear it when his door opens then at least.â He said, motioning to the other chairs in the office. âIt might not be a big deal, but it was big enough that you needed his assistance enough to physically show up. Take a seat miss and just wait. I have coffee and tea if you want any?â

âSo cute,â Poppy repeated and smiled widely at her. She was so grateful that she had them, otherwise Bluebell would be entirely too close to being a hermit. That would be. Well, if she canât ever afford a hotel, let me know. I have a bunch of roommates, but she could always crash on my couch, ya know?â she replied, chuckling. âBut youâre so cute when you blush! How can I resist?â she sidled up next to her, putting her head on Bluebellâs shoulder, and batting her eyelashes at her. She was being a goof, flirting a bit, but only to be playful.Â
âItâs sweet. And I love it, because some weeks they even bring my nieces and nephews. I have like eleven already! The youngest actually chose the names for my hamsters. She has an obsession with Frozen.â She couldnât help but laugh as she said it. It was nice with a giant family though. âOh gosh, mom doesnât pay for the hotel. I wouldnât make her do that, I got started with my jobs in the first place so I could help out with rent when I lived at home, because dad left her in such a pickle. So I pay whenever she comes to visit me here. But itâs really sweet that youâre offering that.â She couldnât help but smile at Poppy, and give her cheek a little pinch, like her own mother did to her when she was being sweet. âYouâre such a naughty girl, Poppy! So, so naughty!â
berryxdwellersâ:
Oh god. That smile of his was⊠wow. Okay, focus, Odette, and listen to what he is saying. What the fuck are you, fifteen again? Jesus. âLost mentally, then, but not physically,â she chuckled, smiling. âExactly. Iâm not looking forward to the winter after this last one. It wasâŠâ she trailed off and shuddered at the memory. âMaybe? That could be it, I suppose.â Except it was not, she was certain of that much. âMe? Baseball? Oh lord no. I have never been athletically inclined⊠which Iâm afraid has only gotten worse with age,â she remarked with a wry smile. âYoga⊠is about the extent of it for me.â But she was very tempted to say yes, just picturing it, and⊠had to stop herself. Lord, she was becoming some sort of cougar. She should go.Â
âMentally lost? Yeah, I get that. I suppose we all experience that at times, but at least you didnât walk into a pool when lost like that. I can tell you, that is quite the wakeup.â he couldnât help but be a dork. Laughing and joking, making fun of himself even. He wasnât too fussed on being seen a specific way. He just wanted everyone happy. âOh donât even remind me. The foster kittens could barely find heat enough, so they and their mother tended to sleep up in my bed with me. It was a complete mess.â He told her, smiling brightly. âWhat? Really? Come on, prof, just swing the bat once for me? Youâve seen me swing it, I could teach you if you want to learn? Everyone should know how to swing a bat in case of an emergency after all.â
berryxdwellersâ:
âI am, yes,â was Odetteâs sarcastic retort. After he parked, she bunched up her dress in preparation for getting out. But before she opened the door, he spoke again and she glanced at him. âSo, youâre saying you have a fair amount of dry spells? What do you do to cope with that?â she wondered aloud. She had plenty herself⊠and if they went on long enough⊠it sort of went to the back of her mind, since there was no one to do it with. That was always the times she was trying to avoid returning back to Stephen. âHa ha. Itâs too late. The damage has been done and the flattery now will get you nowhere.â She gave him a haughty look and then hoisted herself up and out of the car. She silently cursed the bastards who made this dress.Â
The nerve of his friend, the damn nerve... He couldnât help but shake his head at her. Yep, he certainly had his hands full with her. âYou call it dry-spells, I call it Bjorn is too busy making money to entertain people. But yes, I guess so. I donât know... I work out a bunch? And thereâs such a thing as my own hand? I donât know what part of it youâre wanting to know, Odette.â He couldnât help but laugh as he got out of the car with her, walking over to her side of the car too in case she needed assistance getting out before he locked the car. âYou know I still adore you, even if youâre not a little bird at twenty-three anymore.â
berryxdwellersâ:
Odette was pretty used to her hair being played with by now, since both Noelle and Angelica liked to do things with it. âTrue, but you can always learn. Itâs really not as complex as you might think. Unless you were hoping to become some sort of chemist,â she chuckled, knowing that was not the case. âNice to meet you, then, Ms. Bell. Mmhmm. I do. She is twelve years old and just⊠perfect.â She was exaggerating, in the way that all parents do. âLoved? Are your parents not still around?â she asked, brow furrowing slightly in concern.Â
âWell, I think I like leaving the chemistry to those who knows it, and then I can take care of welcoming people to the hotel I work at.â She told the older female, moving her fingers through the hair, just having fun with it. Emma did love to play with hair after all. âOh yeah? Thatâs such a cute age. Itâs all about growing up but also keeping some of the childish glee. Does she still adore stuffed animals?â she asked curiously. Maybe it was just herself who was a child forever instead. âWell, they are. But I donât see them as often as I used to. But we used to bake every sunday morning, and now Iâm often working sunday morning, and Iâm staying with my sister.â
alysbyheartâ:
She still couldnât place the voice right now so she decided to give up on that thought process for now. âThe drinking option would be good but unfortunately itâs also not an option for me. Although I applaud you for at least working out a designated driver,â Alys commented with a smile. They could use a taxi sure but she knew that some people around her just didnât like that option for some reason. âMhmm a seating area would be nice. But as far as Iâm aware yes some of the suites are available still which I guess is an option at least.â
âWell, I also have work in the early morning, and coming to a meeting still smelling of whiskey is bad work in my opinion.â He gave her a smile, even if it mostly just reached his lips. But he truly didnât like to show up with the scent of whiskey all that much. âWe could likely to out by the pool and sit down for a bit, escape the crowd in here if youâre not a crowd person?â He offered, hoping thatâd be more fun for her at least.Â
