Cyanotype Prints shown here are contactprints of 5X7INCH ambrotype negatives on different kinds of handcoated ragpaper. Cyanotype technology was discovered in 1842 by Mr. Herschel for other kinds of usage, like copying astronomical data. Architects used it as blueprints. There is no cyan in Robert M. Brandstaetter´s cyanotypes because of bleaching and toning in all kinds of acids and bases. We all prefer coffee though. All cyanotypes are single edition prints.
