FEET CONTINUE TO RUN FORWARD, attempting to keep a large distance between them for as long as possible as she hears the horrified shriek from behind. eyes barely glance over her shoulder in the wake of it all, leaving him to whatever unfortunate fate he might have found. in the end, it was hardly any of her fault that he manages to get caught up in something so simple; as if they could truly pit the blame on her to begin with when it came to paranormal activity. only when the sound of footsteps quickly approach does she finally glance over, taking note of the terrified man somehow catching up at an alarming rate.
eyes narrow slightly as she attempts to pick up her own pace before noticing his stumble, feeling a hand grab around her own ankle and cause her to nearly crash into the cement without restraint. were it only ryner, perhaps this would not have happened, and yet…
fingers instinctively react to the movements, keeping her face from plowing into the ground as she turns around with haste. features were darkened whilst her free hand reaches downward in order to roughly grasp the collar of his clothing. perhaps it would be better were her features to mimic the prickling sense of irritation that faintly plagues her than how it barely shifts to mirror her frustrations, lifting him with ease despite her capped strength. through it all, she was an eris bred swordswoman—one man was more than enough for her limited capabilities to handle.
❝ Damn you, bastaaaaard!! ❞ and, without a moments hesitation, does she whip around to launch him directly toward the vengeful spirit. no regrets, only karma.
Had this been any other girl, perhaps this accident would have just been laughed off and the two continued their escape. Unfortunately for Gintoki, it would seem that the trend of women of tremendous life remained a pattern in his life here, and so it was with a split second of disbelief that he realised he had been flung.
There was a slight chill as he passed through the ghost, but by then the disbelief had momentarily given way to indignance that caused even his tremendous fear of ghosts to take a back seat.
this crazy dango chick. “Oi, are you insane? Isn’t it common sense to help someone up when they’ve fallen?!” He’s being too loud as he runs right at the girl, although he probably won’t take a swing at her when he gets there...right?!
We’re not meant to find out, as a convenient plot device takes his attention off how much he’s seething just then; a ghost, heading right at them from behind her.
With a shriek, he remembers the situation they’re in, and makes a sharp turn away from the ghosts who are on both sides of them.
Is that water up ahead? Probably.
