Most of you have heard by now that I've moved from California to Sweden, and now my very first home in California is up for sale!

I truly love this house with the expansive yard for my huskies to frolic in and the space for me to cultivate my dream garden full of flowers. I even built a greenhouse to create a tropical paradise. The doors open to giant redwoods in the backyard and even a creek!

It's been painful to say goodbye but I hope the next owner of this beautiful property will continue to enjoy the amazing nature, peace, and joy it has to offer. The house has spacious high ceilings where I was able to hang my various koi and star lantern designs. The skylight and wall to wall windows is perfect for growing my plant wall and giant fiddle leaf fig tree (which is now too big to fit through the door so the next owner will inherit it).

The realtor insisted on "vanilla decor" in their words, but you can see from my photos how magical the space can be. You can find more photos and details here on Zillow!

Happy Lunar New Year! 🐍🏮🎆

To celebrate the year of the snake, I wanted to combine the snake with my other favorite scaled animal, the goldfish! Growing up as little kid in China, I was always fascinated by the goldfish and koi ponds that are scattered in every park and apartment complex. I would stare at them for hours, mesmerized by their shiny scales and graceful movements. Hopefully I was able to capture that in this painting :D

Oggi, 8 novembre, è la giornata mondiale del cappuccino, una delle bevande italiane più amate al mondo. Ma chi lo ha “inventato”? Secondo ricostruzioni storiche risalirebbe a Marco d’Aviano. Appartenente all’Ordine dei frati minori cappuccini, nel 1683 fu inviato da Papa Innocenzo XI a Vienna, con l’obiettivo di convincere le potenze europee a una coalizione contro gli Ottomani, che la stavano assediando.

La leggenda narra che il frate, in una caffetteria viennese, avrebbe corretto con il latte il sapore troppo forte del caffè. Il cameriere, vedendolo, esclamò “Kapuziner”, da qui il nome. Altri invece lo attribuiscono semplicemente alla somiglianza del colore della bevanda a quello del saio dei frati.
