Besides the ads, here’s the other things I did from the latest chapter of @luulapants The Tennis Club

Troy Barrett! A couple people guessed when I had his silhouette up in the baby batch a few weeks ago.

Troy is the most teenage boy to ever teenage boy.

I also did css to put the whole ass 2013 yahoo sports page on ao3. It’s not my best work (there’s a bunch of empty list bullets when you turn off the css) but I’m very proud of it anyways. I'm going to brainstorm a bit about the empty list items before I decide if the css is going in the public version of my css/html spreadsheet, but all the art from this chapter is up on ao3 also.

I can't stop imagining different ways Troy could be adapted onscreen.

I would LOVE to see him in sort of an outsider perspective for a couple episodes as we get into Shane and Ilya's story. Like with Scott Hunter, we know he's a side character, but we don't know the extent of his inner world until episode 3.

I'd love to see him be homophobic and an asshole with Dallas, then show up on the Centaurs' doorstep looking like a kicked puppy. Everyone is standoffish to him and he doesn't even get much screen time at first.

And then we get to find out his story, either a solo episode like Skip got or more woven into the remaining episodes as his story progresses alongside Ilya and Shane's.

I really want it to seem like he's unlikeable but got something going on for the first few times we see him, just so we can really get the setup of how much he has to change and what it means for him to be who he is.

Like, imagine if we get a scene in an early episode where he's on a phone call with Adrian. We only hear his side, but its obvious Adrian is breaking up with him. Plus, Adrian is a gender neutral name, so audiences may assume Adrian is a girl.

Then like, episodes later he tells Harris his boyfriend cheated on and dumped him, and tells him his name, Adrian Dela Cruz. Planted seeds of Troy's heartbreak without revealing the whole deal right away.

People don't notice it at first, because he doesn't exhibit the most stereotypical symptoms (everything very clean and very tidy).

He does experience many other symptoms, that he had been hiding rather well, because he knew they would bury him in Toronto.

He can be aversive to physical touch fearing the feeling of contamination.

He needs to double or triple check things before he is sure they are the way they are supposed to be.

He gets intrusive thoughts about harming others or himself or behaving irrationally in public, which he hates the most, because while he realises that isn't what he actually wants to do, it is still inside his head and makes him feel like a horrible person.

The Centaurs do realise something is off, after knowing him for a bit and Ilya convinces him to get help.

i know that in role model/the long game troy and ilya mostly bond over secretly being nicer and softer and gayer than people realise, BUT i choose to believe that one day (maybe post the stanley cup the centaurs win with the power of friendship) the team all goes out to the club and there’s throwback edm hits playing and troy and ilya’s fuckboy party personas activate like fucking sleeper agents and they have the biggest night of their lives together

Okay so Shane and Ilya are getting freaky while on the road and one of their favorite games is reluctant husband Shane and horny pushy Ilya who wants his "marital rights" ("ew ilya don't say it like that") so they're getting into it and Shane is like "Noo Ilya i need to sleep, stop it leave me alone" and Ilya is saying shit like "its my hole, you belong to me, just stay still and let me put it in"

Unfortunately, the hotel the team is staying at has really thin walls and consent king Troy is in the room next door. Despite his many flaws, Troy is not going to stand by and let another teammate assault someone. (He's actually so upset and angry because he thought Ilya was a great guy who always seemed to treat everyone, but especially his husband well). So Shane and Ilya, and the whole team on that floor, are interrupted by pounding on the door and Troy bellowing "Rozanov get the fuck off of him and open this door so I can kick your ass."

Which is how Troy learns about consensual non-consent.

Ilya stops smoking, because he knows it's bad for his health and Shane hates it. But sometimes, when it gets very stressful he still needs the familiarity if it, to just calm his mind.

Enter his best friend Troy Barrett.

One day after a shitty practice, Ilya is sitting by the back exit playing with his lighter. He doesn't have a cigarette to light.

Suddenly, Troy parks himself next to him and offers him something small, plastic and cylindrical.

It's bubbles.

Troy got them from a fan a few games ago, they were just sitting in his cubby every since then and he saw people doing it online, so he felt he might as well try it.

And it works.

Now whenever one of them gets stressed they find a quiet spot and start blowing bubbles.

Of course, at some point they get photographed and it turns into a giant meme (imagine something like smoking Ben Affleck, but bubbles).

It's great for their image though and a toy company offers to partner with them.

How I would introduce Troy Barrett in Heated Rivalry season 2

The episode opens on the last moments of a game gone into overtime. It's 2-2, Troy gets the puck, passes it to Dallas Kent, who scores. Dallas, Troy, and the team converge in victory on the ice, cheering voraciously.

This transitions into an afterparty, where Troy is nothing but smiles and is basking in comradery. He takes shot after shot. Hard cut to the morning after. Troy stumbles out of bed to the bathroom. He looks like shit. Miserable with red eyes, he has clearly cried himself to sleep.

Troy stares in the mirror, then slumps onto the bathroom floor. He pulls out his phone, unlocking a private folder with a passkey. In the album we see a handful of pictures, Troy and another man, a selfie in bed, a picture of the man's back as he makes breakfast, a couple nudes. Troy's eyes fill with tears easily as he looks at them. He goes to delete them, but just as his thumb hovers over the button, a text comes in.

The text is from a groupchat called "Guardians". It reads "Kent take a look at this bullshit" with a Reddit link. A reply comes in "what a fucking joke" another "who tf reads reddit anymore". Troy's face reads confusion.

He clicks on the link, opening a Reddit post titled "I was raped by Dallas Kent". The rest of the posts is obscured by the slow zoom in on Troy's face as he reads. "...came to a party at his house with a friend..." Dismissive and unsure at first. "...getting a lot of attention so I kept drinking when he told me..." His face slowly drops into realization and concern. "...we were upstairs and I told him we should stop..." His breathing deepens, his face pale. "...held me down and called me a stupid fucking slut..." Troy looks like he's on the verge of vomiting in horror.

The same day, at practice. The locker room is loud as usual, and fragments of misogynistic language and jokes can be heard from just outside the door. Troy walks in, still looking a bit like shit, right up to Dallas, something is wild in his eyes.

"Tell me its not true" Troy silently begs Dallas to reassure him.

Dallas laughs at him. "Jesus, that got you good, huh?" Its not enough. Troy can tell.

"Its not a joke" Troy is barely containing his emotion. His hurt, his disgust, his fury, his betrayal.

Dallas rolls his eyes and says to the teammate next to him "Houde, you're lucky you don't get laid enough to have some stupid fucking slut lie about you online"

The room erupts in laughter. There is ringing in Troy's ears.

Troy's hands move before he even thinks, grabbing Dallas by the shoulders and slamming him into the wall. Dallas shoves him back.

"What the fuck is wrong with you"

"You're a piece of shit rapist, Dallas"

"Fuck you"

The scene devolves into a fight, quickly broken up by their teammates and coach.

~Ottawa, three weeks later~

Hockey commentary or podcast voiceover.

"...in regards to the unexpected trading of Troy Barrett to the Ottawa Centaurs, Coach Bruce Cooper of the Toronto Guardians said it had nothing to do with the leaked video of the locker room fight between Barrett and Toronto's Center, Dallas Kent."

"Harsh words were exchanged, I don't blame Cooper for having to make some tough choices when it comes to keeping the peace on the team."

"And when it comes to these things, the League has its own way of handling a controversy like this."

Troy removes his earbuds and steps into an empty Ottawa Centaurs locker room. He looks as if he hasn't slept in days, his face a worn, miserable expression.

"Welcome to Ottawa." A familiar Russian voice behind him. Troy turns to see Ilya Rozanov staring at him coldly but not cruelly. "I hope you like museums."

i really want to see the beach excursion from role model in season 2. imagine harris playing frisbee with the cens, then suddenly seeing troy and just without a look back dropping the frisbee and joining troy in the water. the cens going wtf is happening watching troy and harris in the water and ilya going lets leave them alone now stop staring nothing is happening

Role Model but it's exactly the same except Harris only has a fuckass beanbag chair in his office (other than his desk chair) so when Troy hangs out with him he's just sunk into the beanbag chair, slouched to all hell with his long ass legs bent up to his ears. And Harris feels so bad bc Troy is just kind of sitting there miserably and so Harris gets a regular chair for him to sit in. But Troy comes in and walks straight to the beanbag chair and slumps into it.
