oh,  allison is 100% afraid of failure.     the only reason her mother is dead was because allison was so scared of failing her family and not living up to their expectations that she went out alone and then brought a werewolf back that resulted in her mother’s suicide.     that carries on when she’s older,  although it is not as prominent since she isn’t entirely human and just kind of doesn’t care.

as for what she does when she fails. . .     she picks herself up and does better.     obviously,  the first time she failed terribly,  aka with her mother,  she couldn’t do that,  she was in pieces,  riddled with guilt,  the responsibility,  and she was only like 15 years old.     she didn’t think she could ever forgive herself,  but then she found a new goal,  killing the werewolf responsible,  and she turned her failure into motivation.
