“Hallelujah, Right. My apologies for forgetting.” That was it! He frowns sheepishly at his own forgetfulness. It was such a unique name, he really should have recalled it better. Then again, the circumstance that they met weren’t ideal for interaction. Still, it was rude of him to forget regardless.
“I’m glad to hear that,” He noted the blush, but kept from commenting on it aloud. Flynn already forgot the other’s name, he wanted to spare him some face. “I’m glad to see Tokyo’s steadily returning to normal. Hopefully it won’t be too long now.”
He pauses, opens his mouth briefly then n quickly closes it again, before deciding to say something else. “I’m glad everyone, from both Mikado and Tokyo have been able to work together in all this, including the Ashura-kei.”
“It’s fine,” Hallelujah muttered quickly, then relaxed as Flynn went along with his change of topic. He knew he’d never forget any of the embarrassing things he did, but if he was lucky, maybe Flynn would.
Hallelujah eyed Flynn dubiously. ‘Everyone’ from Mikado and Tokyo already included the Ashura-kai. Was Flynn noting them in specific because he didn’t expect them to work together with the others? Or was Hallelujah just overthinking things? He was the boss of the Ashura-kai, so it wasn’t weird to mention them specifically. Flynn had looked like he wanted to say something else, though, and it wasn’t like he had the greatest history with the Ashura-kai.
Ugh, there was no reason to be all broody like this. Flynn might have had his differences with the Ashura-kai, but he was probably a nice guy. He was Tokyo’s Liberator, after all. Hallelujah would just assume everything was fine unless Flynn said they had beef outright.
“Me too,” Hallelujah replied, scratching the back of his head. “Even the Ring of Gaea is settling down lately. Or, uh, well… as much as they can, I guess. Still demons to fight, and stuff. I don’t think anyone’s found a way to close the Gate to the Expanse at Ichigaya for good, yet.”
His past experiences with the Ashura-kai, notably under Tayama’s leadership, was quick to sour his opinion on the organization, tolerating it now as a necessary evil to help rebuild and maintain the peace in these times of growth. It was no fault of Hallulujah’s, What little he saw of him lead the samurai to know he was a fine man, but the negative association to the group lingered. The last thing the samurai wished was to insult the one before him due to his bias.
Now, how does one speak to the new leader of an organization he has a poor past with, who is kind? How strangely complicated. Or, more then likely, he was merely overthinking things..
He nods. “Indeed, perhaps aiding in there.. own way?” Yet another organization he has poor history with. He certainly made enemies during this past ordeal, hasn’t he? “ Yes. Closing the gate and expelling the demons will be quite the undertaking, I can only hope it doesn’t take overly long. It’ll likely be the last to be done.”
