Long story short, I stopped playing the Sims for a while, and when I went back to it a few weeks ago, I wasn't really interested in playing as my old family any more. I started fresh with a Sim called Danae Nemona (sort of half named after Dany from Game of Thrones/ASoIaF) in the daycare career path, because I'd never played it before and wanted to give it a go. I think I'll start posting again soon, even though I've gone through her whole YA stage and didn't really screenshot much of it (and I usually play on a fairly long life span, although I can't remember how long off the top of my head as it's a custom one).
She started off on an empty plot of land, where I built her a small house (like, really severely small, it was basically one room with a 2x2 bathroom) and a modest sized room for her daycare (I wanted them separate so I could keep the kids out of her room). I did initially intend to have her earn money until she could build a nice big house, but I didn't really go that way. She dated a couple of guys, including one very rich one who still asks her out on a regular basis even though she's now married (with an Eternally Faithful reputation) though she had an 'Exploring Her Options' reputation at the time. She then moved into a small house in the neighbourhood with two bedrooms and got two new roommates (in that I moved them in for her), Kitty Lu and Alesander Turskovsky (I made that surname up, I didn't realise how close it was to a real surname either). She started a relationship with Alesander, and since he was sleeping in her room, I moved in a new roommate, Hayley Franco. Danae got on well with her career and moved up to level 3 in daycare, and also worked on writing some novels in her time off (her lifetime wish, recently completed, was Professional Author). Alesander started cheating on Danae (I was starting to get bored, basically) and Kitty and Hayley started a relationship. Hayley caught Alesander cheating and Danae found out. The three girls hated him, and after a few days of yelling at him, attacking him (Hayley, who was in the military at the time (she's now in the police) beat the crap out of him twice and he got slapped A LOT) and generally getting angry whenever they saw him, Alesander moved out. With that excitement over, Hayley and Kitty got married and one guest (one of those people who shows up to your party uninvited and you have never even seen them before - I always wonder why they have a habit of crashing children's birthday parties, but oh well) was immediately attracted to Danae. Since he was cute enough and they had a lot in common, they started seeing each other. At first, Danae seemed to be thinking about/crying over Alesander a lot, but eventually the pair become a couple. I really liked his house, so I went into edit town to split her off from Kitty and Hayley (who adopted a child, Gigi; she's now a teenager) and moved her into her new boyfriend's house (Gerard Middleton, now Gerard Nemona since I accidentally did the marriage bit the wrong way). She carried on with her daycare, and he started work in the Education career (he was previously unemployed). He proposed, and they got married about a week later privately. At the time of their wedding, they had about 20k simoleons, but they were fortunate enough to get a wedding gift worth 50k and others totalling around 10k, which they sold. A few days after their wedding, they both got the wish 'Have First Child' and so they tried a couple times and finally, she fell pregnant. She spent a lot of time writing in her maternity leave, although she reached her Professional Author goal a few days after she gave birth to a little girl, Sansa Nemona (yes, named after the Sansa from GoT).
Sansa Nemona is now a toddler with her mother's natural hair colour (blonde - she dyed it purple and then red more recently) and her traits escape me, although I think it's Good and Artistic (her mother is Artistic, although again I can't remember her traits either right now). Danae also reached the top of the daycare career more recently, and Gerard is a department head now, I believe. Danae is also pregnant again at present, and hoping for a boy (I personally don't mind). And that's my Sim family to date.
