Travel to another world...

This is a blog to show my Sims 3 work-in-progress worlds and houses and hopefully a place to recieve feedback and encouragement. I will offer up some downloads for those who are interested. Please don't claim my work as your own or reupload to paysites. :)

Excuse me? I absolutely love your progress on your world, Blumendorf ! ^u^ And I was wondering, would you be willing to perhaps take a shot at making a Neverland world from Peter Pan for the Sims 3 after you finish with it? What now that we have fairies it seems in reach with your amazing world-making skill. Not to mention, we are getting boat houses (Idea to create the Jolly Roger of course!) and mermaids for Mermaid's Cove in the upcoming EP, Island Paradise.

Unfortunately, I could never make someone else's world. I would compare it to writing a book or painting a painting for someone else. It takes months and sometimes years. Often it takes dozens of people working together. I suggest reading all the CAW tutorials and start learning how to use it yourself if you really want a certain world.

I've Moved!

I’ve moved accounts because my old simblr was a sub-blog and I would rather keep my sim follows separate. Now I can follow everyone back to my hearts content! The old Amandieu Blog here (with all the houses, castles, etc) will still remain because of the downloads, but any new houses by me will be at the new simblr. 

Please follow the new Amandieu if you are interested in any future downloads! :)

This is the Stones Throw Greenhouse from the Sims Store. Reviews? Is it worth $17-$20 or whatever it costs? With the Seasons expansion, will the indoor plants still be dormant?

This is the edited Sunset Valley terrain, all lots are empty, and I am fairly certain I haven’t named any of the said lots. CAW is currently not working for me since the 1.42 patch, so I probably won’t be expanding on this at all, but perhaps it can be of use for someone. I made it with only the base game installed, so it should be base game compatible.

My CAW is also out of commission  I thought it was my laptop, but it turns out it was the patch. This is so beautiful, I can't wait to start make-overing it!

Sunny Retirement Cottage [download]

Not my favourite build, but I'm still learning. This is based on a little cottage in my town. It would be perfect for a retiree couple or a widow/widower. One small bedroom, compact yet open living area. Small sunken laundry room. Small lot. I believe it requires all EPS but no SPs, store content, or CC. (I'm sure there's nothing there you can't replace with base game content except for the spiral stairs which requires Generations.

Comfy Country House [download]

This is my favourite sims 3 house that I have EVER MADE! A small farm house (2 bed 2 bath) with space for horses and a large garden! I've played with this house a ton! Especially while testing Blumendorf. It would look great in any rural setting though. 

Used every expansion except SPN and ST. 

The only required CC is the Prosperous Peasant Medieval Door and Window Set and the Dicke Berta Stove.

Shanty for Two [download] 

Small shanty with outhouse and double bed. Veggie garden, fire pit, and workbench. 

Shanty Paradise [download]

Basically a clone of Shanty for Two but with some different patterns and space for a horse, a dog, and a truck. Better for a young single or animal lover. 

Family Shanty [download]

Larger, two bedroom, space for four sims and a horse. Indoor plumbing. A bit more luxurious.

All three have been play tested extensively (I placed them all next to each other and had a family spread between them. (A woman and her two children in the Family Shanty, her brother in the Shanty Paradise, and their elder parents living in Shanty for Two.)

The only CC required is "Dicke Berta" Stove by plasticbox at MTS.

Modern Prince Edward County Home [download]

No CC, however I used every expansion besides SPN. No Comments over there, kinda heartbreaking. haha

My gigantic vampire king's castle. With stables, barracks, and training yard. I believe the only CC is the Prosperous Peasant Medieval Door and Window Set.

Since my laptop doesn't want to handle CAW anymore, I will upload some of my favourite houses from the worlds I've created. Hopefully after Christmas I can build a new desktop that can handle CAW. :)

Trying to Rest my Eyes

I jumped back into Blumendorf to do the repaint. While I was waiting for the new CAW, I was in the old Blumendorf just playing around with families. I was having so much fun. I forgot how great it is to just play. :) I decided to try to do some practice painting in an empty world and started sculpting and painting just for fun. Well, before I knew what was happening, I had the start of a massive fantasy world started. Oh my. Now to rest my eyes, I will play in someone else's world a while so I don't start making more work for myself. 

P.S. Anybody love painting in CaW? I am kind of getting sick of the painting part and that's really all that's left until Blumendorf Beta is ready.

Waiting for CAW to Update!

I am waiting for Create a World to update so I can finish repainting. In the meantime, I'm making lots to update Blumendorf for Supernatural and making families. So much fun! The Supernatural Hangout is called The Hexenkessel and it's out in the woods, literally off the beaten path. I also created a Vampire Lounge called The Jager Club. It's disguised as a hunting club because there's really no reason for a rural village to have a vampire night club. It's in a renovated Riverview Library and it looks fantastic. Can't wait to share some pictures.

You can see the direction I'm going in with the repaint. Not radically different, just a little more detailed and diverse. Just going to blend in the darker grasses and repaint the cliffs. :)

Repainting

After hearing some feedback about my terrain painting and reading a few more paint tutorials, I'm going to devote a few hours this afternoon to repainting my world. I'm so excited. It's actually very calming to just put in an audio book or a podcast and paint away. :)

For those that are interested, I used this method to do a base coat on the world which only takes a few minutes. Then I exported those layers, chose all my paints, then put my new layers in the proper order (importing those "base coats" into the appropriate layers). I'm using Martine's Mega Texture pack and they are BEAUTIFUL!
