Hey, Vi here. Sorry I've been so silent recently haha. Things are starting up for me again. I also still have a lot of thoughts and theories floating around in my head, but putting them into words for a post is hard. But i'm getting there. Slowly. I'm probably also gonna start consistently reblogging art again at some point. I still have a bunch of season 1 art in my drafts and I REALLY wanna clean em out (will be tagged under season 1. I tag my posts according to what season we're at when i originally post/reblog them btw).

Okay so like, they establish the way he writes emails. "Dear (Voxtek) Employee," blah blah blah corpo speech "- Ethan". He signs in, he signs out. Consistently.

Lately, he hasn't been singing out. The last two emails before this one lack his name at the end. Though I suspect the earlier of the two was just plainly written by Vox.

Like, Ethan has no reason to write some of these lines. And that's when the lack of sign outs started. Lvl up has been normal, except for the lack of an "- Ethan", but I was ready to just go "oh maybe they forgot". But low and behold, look at todays drop.

Continuing with no sign-out, but also no sign-in nor corpo speech or anything. And it's pretty likely related to the Demon Vox card. But i would have assumed they'd try talk their way around it (Like they did with the new management). But with that message I'm under the impression that Ethan didn't write this at all.

Who the heck is writing to us.

If it's Vox, which it likely might be, that means he regained access to some ability to write and send emails (whether that be through system access, his physical body or whatever else).

There's also the option that Ethan is just going off the rails batshit crazy.

Either way, the Voxtek emails continue to fascinate me.

Bit of a hiatus rn i'll be back meanwhile lemme just say that I find the difference in how Vox's antennas are utilized FASCINATING.

Past Vox was incredibly expressive with them. They were functionally like animal ears. Every movement was accompanied by them. You could read him by the antenna alone. You could remove his expression entirely and it would still be so visibly clear what the scene is meant to convey.

That is 'lost' with Vox's current design. He stops emoting with them almost entirely. There are still moments where his antenna hang low, like in the finale, lots of people point it out. However, not a lot of people point out one of the REASONS why they stopped being so consistently expressive. It's because they're constricted by his hat.

Vox's emotions are always on display. Both from his extremely expressive body language (another interesting topic) and his easily readable face: Emotive antenna, big round bug eyes, massive mouth, glitching images (error messages, shorting out or that bi screen haha), a blush that is oh so obvious (he doesn't even have blood that can rush to his face, yet the screen mimics it, more visible than anyone else), etc. His screen broadcasts all of his emotions to anyone who looks at him. So it's not far fetched to assume he regulates whatever he can.

His right anteena being bent also seems to make it even harder for it to emote.

Valentino isn't even aware this could be the case because he straight up says in the drawing video, "Little hat! Now that I'm really thinking about it... Why does he wear this? Is it cause he's like, bald? Can a tv be bald? If I was bald I would kill myself." Which really shows you just how many walls Vox has put up that not even after 50 years of knowing Val has been able to be put down again.

Some people have suggested that Vox bent it on purpose which I do vibe with that idea, but I feel like since in the old photo Vox's anteena isn't bent yet plus the fact Val and Vox match the same damaged anteena, it's safe to say something must've happened to both of them. Possibly at or around the same time.

I can't see much of a reason for Val's antenna to end up seemingly permanently fucked up like that unlike Vox where I can figure out multiple reasons why something could happen outside of the two big ones. It being a battle would with Alastor tjat hasn't healed psychologically yet (Think Vaggi's wings, Lute tore them off and didn't cut them off with her sword) or from an actual angelic weapon. I can only see the latter two for Val.

OOO I have a few more things to say. Because in a post that I will definitely be finishing at some point (I'm cooking things I swear), I wanna talk about how his bent antenna is actually genuinely affecting his flow of electricity. Like, visibly. It's why I don't really vibe with the "bent it himself" angle that much. Because it's more than just an appearance thing.

I am so heavily curious why both their antennas are broken, because it clearly is an important detail. And it must have happened semi-recently, since Vox's design has both of them in the 80s. I'm still betting on it being related to the first extermination lowkey. I don't think hell was prepared for it.

Also, aughhh Val not knowing about this is interesting food for thought. Yeah, those walls are up high, even after so long.

But also, the hat is off in the bedroom. Normally a "no duh", but I would fully trust Vox to actually wear it during sex if I'm being honest. But no. Vox allows himself full expression in a scenario where people tend to be very vulnerable (just like how Val takes off his glasses).

We need to talk more about the fact vox displays his severed body parts like a trophy in his office. His severed heads. Proudly on display. Not even in his room, in his office. For everyone to see.

There's something so deeply wrong with this man.

I mean, there wasn't a doubt about it. This guy learns he's immortal and proceeds to butcher himself every which way to become a newer, brighter, better version of himself.

But like, it's one thing to chop your head off and replace it. It's a whole nother thing to then make a display case purely for that chopped off head and have you desk face it so you look at it while you work.

I thought it was confirmed in a stream that Vox died in his late 30s to early 40s in the 50s. That'd put his birth year around the 1910s.

I haven't seen all the streams from back then, but I think fandom also got a consesus for 50s in a stream? It's why I tend to go with 40s. It's a nice middle ground and I can see him being that age at the end of Brighter (he frankly looks too old for 30s there. I tend to sway to 44 more than anything). However, nothing is confirmed yet, so 1910s is also fair game.

Either way, I take stream info with a grain of salt these days. It's largely outdated and generally inaccessible, and I think most of the crew also doesn't want us to take it as hard canon anymore. This mostly applies to small stuff like this, which can easily be changed, especially during production.

I mostly just take what the show itself says, Vivzie explicitly posts (not reposts or likes) or one of the writers says, as canon. Info from old streams, voice actors, merch artists, etc, is all stuff that are fun to headcanon with or base theories on, but ultimately I leave wiggle room there (voice actors especially. They'll have a good grasp on their character, but at the end of the day they aren't the writers).

Okay, I need to say it, cause I see it so often. But technically Vox is not "from the 50s". This guy died in 1952, barely into that decade. He was born in the 1900s (I personally headcanon between 1904-1908, cause he just has the mid-to-late forties vibe to me, but technically you can go up to the very late 1890s).

I need people to remember that. I like the silly conversations about what Sinners would and wouldn't know in hell, or were and weren't taught, but please remember they've been alive for a while before that and that definitely has relevancy for those convos.
