How did [Name] and Jade get together? One may ask, from a far glance their relationship was rather rocky and flirty at the same time.
[Name] was more of a bitter when it came to her competitive side and Jade had a more calculated and calm approach to almost everything but it didn't mean he wasn't one to also have a match with anyone especially [Name] but all love stories start with two people and a invisible pull that doesn't quit till they see what they needed was each other
The scene opens in Professor Crewel's classroom, a large some of students are gathered together on a table, in the table are two cauldrons and two students who are meticulously focused and tense with the other, "aw come on Jade im sure you will get that c plus if you tried a little harder there" said a feminine voice who was then revealed to be [Name]. A fellow Octavianville student with a flare for competition and banter.
Jade who only merely glanced at her smiled politely as he placed a purple mushroom in his cauldron "ah my dearest [Name], careful i believe that your head is in the clouds again. My you must have gotten my teas mixed up" the shark girl laughed as she stirred the pot " me and mixed up is never part of my education, darling"
The class stands in awe as the two best students are once against, trying to prove who was the better option maker. This has been going on since the very start of their freshman year up to now their third year at the college, it was rather fascinating how while the two were extraordinary in the art of potionology. Emotions to them came seconds, yet with their usual banter other students couldn't help but feel a slight giddy of what if they just accepted that they should get together already.
Floyd sat in the chair in between the two, he yawned and looked at [Name] her hair was still flawlessly impeccable her eyes filled with determination but he didn't miss how she would quickly glance at Jade from time to time, and Jade who would do everything in his power not to fail against the only woman who has ever made him feel like he could be better than what he already was at the craft.
"Yawnnn why are we doing this again?" the shark girl chuckled and looked back at the twin "why for the love of the game! What is more thrilling than to mix a potion with grand effects those around us! The thrill of causing commotion and amazement is quite addicting Floyd" the dual eyes male tilted back the chair balancing himself not to fall "sharky no offense but this shit is borin' to me" professor Crewel came up from behind him "would you repeat that, Mr. Leech?" Floyd sighed "no sir, sorry or whatever"
Jade looked at his twin then back at [Name] "i will agree with her on one thing, it is thrilling and quite addicting to mix up all different sorts of potions my dearest [Name] but i must say you are getting rather...sloopy" the (h/c)nette frowned " watch it, i would smack you with my wooden spoon" Jade hummed and placed a powder into his potion "oh im so scared little shark" Jade poked her goggles with his nail "Hey! Don't ridicule me you musty eel" she continued with her work as the class chuckled at their back and forth. Professor Crewel shook his head "pups you must be civil at least for the time being in my class" the duo looked at each other Jade winking at [Name] who only stuck her tongue out at him
At the end of class everyone filtered out of the room to start their next academic session. Jade stayed back with his brother and the shark mermaid who was boasting about her successful potion that helped cured a magical plant in the classroom "dont worry Jade im sure you'll get the next one" she tossed her hair back dramtacill;y as the dual eyes male hummed and placed a hand on his hip "it was a string of luck that yours worked, but don't forget that mine was for more of a practical use for healing injured people. Plants are fine i suppose" [Name] shrugged "you can try to diminish my work but it still doesn't stop the fact that it bloomed in EXACTLY 3 seconds so you could say im quite the mage"
She grabbed her messenger bag and walked out the class with the tweels following behind "i wasnt typing too but i apologize if it came out that way, my dear" [Name] rolled her eyes "i know that tone of yours and you're just saying that so i wont be mad at you" Jade came up to her side and leaned in "did it work?" he muttered in her ear which she swatted at him in return "oh shut up you musty eel" Floyd giggled behind them "she aint gonna fall for your technique Jade, she's too smart aren't ya sharky?~" [Name] shrugged "i live with you two in the same dorm since freshman year, i think i can handle your stupidity at this point"
Turning to the right to her class down the hall Jade raised his hand and waved "see you in our club, dearest" [Name] sighed and lifted her hand as she walked away from them "yeah. Yeah see you later"
At the end of the day the two had the same club which served as a problem at times especially when the two found a mushroom they both wanted. Today would make their relationship quiver and mold into something different
"Watch it Jade! I saw that mushroom first!" [Name] pushed the eel who was grabbing her waist denying her to grab the said plant. The birds chirped and flew above the sky of the overgrowned forest, the breeze rustled the trees from above as the two kept having troubles. [Name] and Jade had seen a mushroom very rare that could be cooked or added to a drink mixture and the two were not ones to quit when wanting something. So the two kept fighting to climb up the mountain [Name]'s pants were smudged by the grass and dirt as she climbed up grabbing at the branches while trying to get away from Jade's grasp
His hands slipped from her waist almost tumbling black but her regain his footing at the last seconds he frowned and kept treading up to catch up to the shark girl "I won't let this slide, I want it and I need it for my tea" Jade's hands reach out again and he grabbed onto her waist with her arms encasing her. This caused them to go off balance "h-hey! Watch ou-"
The two went tumbling down the grassy hill ending up crashing into the trunk of a tree down below, Jade ended up on top of her chest to chest. Gorans came out from the two, the eel's arms still were securely wrapped around the girl "ughh..." [Name] rubbed her eyes, Jade opened his own after a moment and was met with the mermaid's face that was smudged with dirt, his breath slightly eased seeing that she wasn't hurt, even if they didn't stand each other it wouldn't be the best to have injuries caused by Jade's negligence "are you alright?" [Name] opened her eyes meeting his dual ones
Jade's breath hitch slightly, he had never noticed how bright those (e/c) eyes were until this moment "i uhh think so" Jade loosened his grip "i apologies i didn't mean to stumble both of us i was" "Being stupid?" she interjected, her hands landed on his shoulder "yeah, you could say that" [Name] sighed her body calming down from the rush "can youtube off?"
The merman nodded and slowly got up then extended his hand towards her which she took after a slight hesitation "your heavy Jade" she punched his shoulder which caused him to laugh "is that all you have to say to me? I prevented you from hitting the tree stump by the way. I am quite gracious" [Name] fixed her shirt "and you smell nice i guess" Jade watched silently as she fixed attire, her hair was slightly messy with leaves in it "her let me" he stepped forward which in response [Name] back up "hey now, dont think we are cool now just because you saved my ass from getting as concision" Jade sighed, she was right to not want him in her space "you have leaves in your hair by the way"
[Name] reached in her hair and took them out, the silence settling between the two "thanks" the male smiled "no problem" the two stood there for a long moment before finally Jade pointed at the mushroom they had been fighting to get "you can have it. I'll just look for something else to make my tea" [Name] looked at him skeptical "no tricks?" Jade chuckled and ran a hand through his hair "i owe you for that fall, dearest" [Name] was taken aback by his gentle tone and she looked up the hill "i think i'm fine too, i can just make a different dish to eat tonight" it seemed the two had forgotten their initial plans but it also wasn't bad because of it
The winds picked up making [Name] shiver slightly Jade noticed which was a first in their entire time of knowing each other "you want to go back to the dorm, I think we have exhausted ourselves wouldn't you say?" the (h/c)nette shrugged and nodded "im starving honestly... you want to see if they'll let me use the kitchen in the lounge? I can make us something, if you want to regain energy" Jade smiled "sounds splendid, you make great dishes. Though i havent had the time to taste them they run out before lunch hour is over"
[Name] rubbed the back of her neck embarrassed "then it;s settled ill treat us a nice meal. So come on before i change my mind you musty eel" Jade chuckled "right behind you"
After that day the two had changed into a more neutral relationship. It started small Of course with small moments between them.
One night in the monstro lounge as [Name] finished cleaning up the kitchen grill after a long day cooking she sighed and whipped the sweat from her forehead "ugh why am I always stuck doing this" mumbling while cleaning. Jade walked into the kitchen and watched as [Name] huffed and puffed.
In a swift movement Jade walked over and grabbed the sponge she was using from her "huh? Oh, hello Jade" he didn't speak but started cleaning the grill "go eat, I saw you didn't take your break darling" [Name] blinked confused but she watched as he continued to clean without hesitation made her feel some type of way "you noticed?" Jade only hummed "thank you" she said softly before then turning to leave to go eat her lunch that was in the break room fridge.
Jade looked as the double swinging doors of the kitchen swayed noting her absence, then went back to help.
In turn [Name] started to return the same energy.
During their mountain lovers club, the shark mermaid had gone along an excursion with Jade it went along like this.
[Name] went up to Jade tapping on his shoulder, their eyes met as he turned to look at who granted his attention "yes, darling?" [Name] placed a small strand behind her hair "do you want to hike together?" Jade smiled "I would like the company"
The two continued together into the woods of NRC, looking at every corner they have seen almost everyday since the club started but this time in a new lens "hey look! This plant is good for tea, right?" [Name] pointed at a bush that at the bottom held purple leaves, Jade walked over and crouched down next to her "indeed, you know your plants well [Name]"
Picking a few of the leaves he placed them in a bag "we can make a tea once we return" (e/c) eyes brighten at the invitation and his compliment "ah you know it's kinda hard to get away from your tea obsession" she tilted her head slightly with a grin "well at least you learn something beneficial from me then" Jade smiled back.
The two ended up having a lovely time with the tea in the dorm sharing secrets and bonding over their shared love for the outdoors and [Name] talked about her experience when they first got on land
"Im not gonna lie, I may have tripped more than once on my feet" she snickered "like you should have seen me when I tried roller skates I fell on my ass" Jade raised a brow amused at her stories "well we should try it again together then. We could hold each other for balance" [Name] rolled her eyes and leaned back in the couch "we are both falling by then" the tweel twin leaned over at her personal space "would that be so bad?" The shark mermaid almost choked on her tea "*cough cough* jeez dude don't put it out like that at me, I just started liking your presence"
Jade chuckled and backed off "fine, apologies my dear" the silence that followed was a comfortable one, the fire cracking by the fireplace and the company that they shared was more warmer than just 2 months ago and it felt good.
2 more months later and it seemed that they gotten closer and more comfortable with a smile here a touch there and with each day something seemed to blossom that was unlike their usual behaviors
Cooking for Jade became a second hobby for [Name] while Jade came to bring her tea into her room and sit and chat for hours till curfew. Floyd and Azul noticed them become less docile and found it strange yet relieving
The lounge workers especially found it amazing, seeing since the two would bicker a lot during their shifts before this sudden change. "It's like they actually like each other" one of the Octavinelle servers commented to the other as they watched as [Name] handed Jade his table's food personally other than leaving it by the window, he actually came inside once she hollered that it was ready.
At school professor Crewel had lifted a curious eyebrow as the two studied next to each other, closely huddled up cheeks touching as they read the textbook with [Name] doodling in her notes "looks like you pups have finally become mates?" Crewel smiled watching as their faces got red separating immediately "we are just studying together is all" Jade coughed "yeah, not like we were bad before Mr. Crewel" [Name] tried to defend themselves even if it didn't work well.
Crewel gave Jade a knowing smile "i see well, do continue" the two looked at each other [Name] looked embarrassed "you look cute like that" Jade chuckled "eh?! Shut it's just hot in here" the eel hummed "if you say so~"
Then one afternoon in the octavanille dorm Jade was preparing tea for [Name] who sat in the stool of the kitchen island. Her hair was still wet and all over the place after getting out of the pool, she swung her legs back and forth while she read her book.
Jade looked over his shoulder to see her calm and relaxed, it had become one of his favorite sites. Seeing as she read without a care in the world while he made them tea to enjoy after a long day. He could get used to this "darling" he called to [Name] "yeah, musty eel?" She looked up with a cunning grin her fangs on display
The dual eyed male chuckled as he cut off the heat and grabbed the teapot "i have been thinking" he walked over to the kitchen island where the cups were set up, gently he pored the tea then sat down "i have been wondering about our relationship" [Name] stopped mid pour of honey in her cup "oh? Oh! Um yeah what is it?" She straightened up, tucking a wet curl behind her ear "I suppose I've been wanting to take this to a more serious rout" he grabbed her hand
"Would that be foolish of me to ask?" [Name] nearly choked on her spit "yes- I mean no! No, no it's not" Jade sighed relieved "God's you scared me there" the (h/c)nette placed her other hand atop of his "sorry what I meant to say is, do you really want to? I thought we were kinda out of the question after how we treated each other ha ha..." Jade leaned in, letting go of her hand he instead placed it on her cheek "I liked your feisty nature back then" his ears turned slightly pink "would you call me crazy for that?"
[Name] swayed her head left to right "I mean you are crazy, but not like i can't handle that" Jade hummed "i figured" he gently caressed her cheek. "So would you give me a chance? Use a chance?" The shark mermaid leaned into his touch "i think it's safe to say i would like to try this out but don't tackle me for a damn mushroom again!"
That made Jade burst out in laughter "Ha Ha Ha! Yes, yes that's fair I won't, my dear" [Name] sighed relieved "good, i almost bit you the last time" that made Jade perk up "i wouldn't mind~" blushing she looked away "aw come on don't be shy~" Jade now was off the chair and placed his face into the crook of her neck, he inhaled the scent of her salty skin his arms wrapped around her waist squeezing her slightly "Jade?" He hummed "sorry, i can't help it" [Name] placed her arms around him return placing a kiss on his hair before closing her eyes
"I like this" she mumbled "I like you" he whispered back "well then I suppose i LOVE you" she challenged, Jade squeezed her again "well i ADORE you" before she could retort Jade found her lips to Finally shut her up to continue a petty back and forth. [Name] wrapped her legs on his torso as he scooped her up and left the kitchen leaving the tea behind to focus on showing his affections that he'd been wanting to bare at her feet since the day the two fell down the mountain.
