Well shit, I suppose I took a 2 month hiatus when I was supposed to only be gone over the holidays. Lots of things happened after new years and I just never logged back on…Starting a new job very soon so coming back full time just yet is gonna be hard so please message me for my discord if you want to keep in touch/start roleplaying over there as I’m much more active on discord than I’ll ever be on tumblr. The elevator pinged their destination and its doors parted to reveal his penthouse. He emerged from the elevator before Harry and shrugged off his jacket. “I’m famished!” he announced. A lady briskly approached his side to take his coat. “What’s for dinner?”
“Pasta carbonara,” came the woman’s reply. “The chef’s specialty.”
“I’ll be the judge of that.”
Too bad it wasn’t the president he’d wanted to kill. The Master watched as the doors opened and he warily looked around the new space, not sure what to think of it. Fancy, a bit flamboyant, and a…maid?
He was still carrying the bags and he wasn’t sure what to do with them so he stood waiting to be told what to do. That was his place now, right? Wait for orders and obey without question.
“Grace, what do we do with guests?” Kilgrave asked sharply. He emerged back into the hallway and stared expectantly at the woman. He spoke up before she could speak. “That was a rhetorical question. Do what needs to be done,” he snapped. “Harry will be our temporary guest in this house.”
Nodding, the woman took the bags from him and ushered him to the sofa.
The Master looked on as Grace took the bags and ushered him to the sofa. He sat down and leaned back, looking more around the room.
“I’d have pegged you for more a mansion type, but I suppose those are a bit hard to come by in New York.” He said.
“I have a mansion in the suburbs. It’s quite a way’s away from the city. I would rather spend the night in the city however,” Kilgrave explained as he emerged from the bedroom, his necktie removed and top button undone. He turned his attention to the maid. “Get the bathroom ready for our guest.”
The Master looked Kilgrave up and down when he came back out and couldn’t help a smirk. That was a good look on the man. So much more relaxed, he didn’t seem as intimidating anymore. He actually seemed a bit…Well sexy.
“You should go casual more often, it’s a good look.” He commented. A little flatter couldn’t hurt, especially if it was true.
Kilgrave stopped on the spot and looked down to examine his outward appearance in response to the man’s comment. Then he directed his attention back to Harry. “Thank you,” he finally said. “The bath will be ready for you soon. I expect you to scrub up good. Your clothes will be out and ready when you finish.”
The Master smirked. Good to know flatter wasn’t lost on his new boss. “I appreciate what you have done for me, if that wasn’t clear.” He said. Some resentment from certain things yes, but all in all he was getting a very good deal out of this.
“You better appreciate it,” Kilgrave said sternly. “My kindness is something I don’t give so easily and I will be disappointed if you start letting that get over your head.” He poured himself some whiskey and swirled his glass, staring at the liquid - a crude reminder of another past. “Get yourself cleaned up. Dinner will be ready soon,” he ordered.
Oh he didn’t doubt it for a second. He would never forget that this kindness was to get something in return because the Master could be useful to him. Kilgrave wasn’t the altruistic type, that was for sure.
“Yes, sir.” The Master took off to the bathroom, and almost thanked the maid because it was a lovely bath there waiting for him. He scrubbed himself down and took a moment to relax as it hit him just how tired he really was. The night’s events had really taken a toll on him. He didn’t want to keep Kilgrave waiting though and he finished up and finished up after shaving and trimming his beard.
New clothes and a bath, it was strange how good such simple things could make him feel. He came back out shortly after a new man.
Hearing his footsteps, Kilgrave’s head perked up and he glanced in the man’s direction. The transformation was pleasantly surprising, and he couldn’t seem to hide the smirk that graced his features. “Y’know…” He stood up from the sofa and approached Harry. His body lingered close to his as he studied him wordlessly. “You brush up rather well. Well done.”
Flatter definitely worked on the Master as well, and he felt about as good as he looked. He soaked up the praise and smirked. "Why thank you." He said. "Though I can't take credit for your impeccable taste in fashion."

The Doctor knew that voice. Knew it galaxies away. But to hear it shocked him beyond belief. That voice belonged to someone he never thought he’d see again.
“You could say it was an indirect cause, yes, but strictly you’re doing,” The Doctor said as calmly as he could despite the shock, finally turning around to look the Master in the eye, “You’re not dead?”

“Stuck…” The Master muttered. Twice now he had managed to escape the Timelock. Twice. It shouldn’t have been that hard for the man who could do the impossible to find a way to get to him, to get him out.
“I hate you so much.” He said in a raspy voice, like he had to force the words out and his throat wouldn’t cooperate. “Like you can’t believe. I suffered at Rassilon’s mercy for you. The least you could have done was just look!”
At first the Doctor said nothing, just simply letting the Master vent out everything he needed to say. The amount of guilt he felt dialed up times ten, and even made him hate himself even more than he already did.
“I know, I deserve every bit of hatred and more.” He wasn’t lying about that. Though he couldn’t tell just how much of the Master’s sentence was forced. “Look if you want to kick me while I’m down already, go ahead. But like I said there’s nothing I regret more than not looking…”
It wasn’t his intention to make the Doctor feel more guilt than before, he just needed to get this off his chest. All this anger and hurt he was carrying, he had waited so long to unload it all and make the Doctor see what he had done. It didn’t feel as satisfying as he’d imagined...
“I don’t want your regret, Doctor.” The Master replied. Why didn’t the Doctor’s hurt make him feel any better? This is what he’d wanted, to see him like this, feeling all the hurt he’d caused. “I want...I want to know why.”

“You were stuck in a time lock, Master…” He wasn’t even going to bring up his companions. God knows how the Master would react knowing that he’d spent the time with his human companions, knowing his hatred for humanity well. Human companions he didn’t want to think about.
The Doctor took the time to look the Master over, noting how he wasn’t in the best of shape. “You must really hate me, then, don’t you?” Really the last thing he needed was losing someone else. “I wouldn’t blame you, really.”

“Not dead.” The Master replied and felt a surprising pang of guilt in his hearts when the Doctor turned around and their eyes met. Those eyes…still had the stars in them.
“You didn’t come looking. Didn’t check if I was dead.” He said and averted his gaze, unable to continue meeting his eyes. “I waited. I thought…” As it had all happened, Gallifrey, Rassilon…they had had some sort of moment, he hadn’t hallucinated that. He thought maybe the Doctor would have come looking after that standoff that ended in saving each other.
The Doctor had always regretted not looking. In fact it was one of the biggest mistakes he felt he made… Yet, even if he did try, there was no way he could have gotten through the time lock. However, here the Master was…standing right in front of him somehow. How?
“I wanted to… so badly, you need to know that.” He frowned, looking at the Master with sadness in his eyes, “After I had regenerated..a lot of things happened. But not once did I stop wanting to find you..”
It was hard enough dealing with the loss the Ponds but now he couldn’t help but feel even more guilty… “How did you manage to get out? What happened?’

The Master wished he had kept his cool a bit more, wished he had been able to remain at least somewhat snarky and confident, but he took one more step backwards.
“Stay back.” Scared...perhaps a little bit. It was quite literally a ghost of his past there before him, a ghost of his beginning, a reminder of...he stopped that train of thought before it could go any further.
“You are not my friend, Torvic. You are a ghost, no more.”
"yeah, he did kill me. all that time ago. would have thought i'd get over it by now, but nope!" torvic gave a small grin, and stepped forward. "don't be shy. i'm flesh and blood, just like you. wanna feel? i hear my cheeks are insanely squishy." - t
The Master stepped backwards to keep the distance between them, a look of disgust on his face and a clear wish to stay away from this…walking ghost.
“I wonder if your head is still as squishy. If I remember correctly it made a lovely crunching sound when Theta bashed it in. I was almost surprised it wasn’t hollow.”

“You...what are you doing here.” It wasn’t a question, it was a statement of resentment. The use of that name, coming from him...the Master felt a shiver of disgust only overwhelmed by his anger. Perhaps even a little fear.
