Part 3: Oregon Trail Dress

The dress was a much greater challenge. I created the base dress from scratch, but this description will show only the sewn-on features. The dress includes a hunting scene on the top right and the wagon/oxen on the skirt portion of the dress. All pieces (except the green stripe along the bottom) were hand-sewn.

Oregon Trail shoes take much more patience to design and create. These were made entirely by hand using simple fabric paints.

Part 1: Oregon Trail Jewelry

The Oregon Trail Jewelry was made in several steps:

1. Find images online and print

2. Glue the images to Scrabble pieces or other objects

3. Tape the edges of the piece with painter’s tape

4. Mix resin in a disposable container and drip on the image

5. Using strong glue, add glue-on bails to the back.

6. With jump rings, fish-hook earrings, and a cord necklace, you have earrings and a necklace!

PAX Prime - Oregon Trail Themed

The Penny Arcade Expo is a gaming convention in downtown Seattle during Labor Day weekend. For my second PAX, I thought it was appropriate to dress in gaming attire.
