It was also during our winter stay with Aunt Gigi, that I fell in love with riding horses. Aunt Gigi’s fiancé, Gina, owned five horse. We went over to her house for a visit and I got to ride a horse for the first time. There was no turning back after that. Some would say I was a natural when it came to riding.
We needed a winter getaway after losing grandmother. Aunt Gigi invited us out to Henford on Bagely to spend the winter holidays. Mom, dad, Tessa, and I made the trip out to the cozy town. Granddad went to Newcrest to spend the holiday with Auntie Di and her family. I think it was that trip where Henford became one of my favorite places. We could let go and just do fun stuff like having snowball fights, building snowpals, and sledding. Even my parents let themselves relax in the countryside.

When we got to the gallery we had to take photos. I watched as paparazzi clamoured for pictures of my parents and their friends. I still didn’t think I could handle that level of fame. We’d been lucky growing up, our parents kept us out of the media and we didn’t have social media ourselves. Don’t get me wrong, I loved posing for a photo, but all the flashes from big cameras? They seemed like they could overwhelm me easily.
Dylan: Come on it’s our turn
Delilah: I don’t know...
Rina: Just ten seconds and we’ll be done
Dylan: You don’t want to forget how awesome you look in that dress right?
Delilah: Alright, ten seconds, then I’m moving out of the camera lens
The photo did actually come out nice.
I was almost seven when I experienced my first encounter with loss. My grandmother passed away in her sleep one day. I was devastated, as was the rest of my family. The service was held at the Royal Cathedral. We skipped the step photos this time around. Dad gave a eulogy that was both lighthearted and moving.
Afterwards, we took a family photo that now also included Aunt Gigi’s girlfriend. Jen and Lacy had just turned two, they didn’t quite understand what was going on. But I could tell they could feel the somber energy of the moment.
Now that I was a child, I was expected to be more visible. I started attending the same events as Tessa. After Harvestfest, we attended the opening of the new Arts Center. While dad gave his speech, I tried having a conversation with Tessa, but she only stared straight ahead. She was a statue, and focused on her duty as the Crown Princess. Me, I was just ready to go home and play outside.
😱I have posts schedlued for the next four weeks!!! When I get this far ahead in gameplay, I tend to think of starting something new, usually historical (which I eventually abandon). I've got that itch again... One day I'll actually follow through with a historical side project. Maybe that will be this time. Who knows (I doubt it)?
Whenever we went to the Royal Cathedral, we tended to take two sets of photos. The official ones on the steps and then the more personal family photos. These were the ones that graced the walls and tables of our homes. If they ever made it out in front of the public, it was only after several years.
Fall meant Harvestfest celebrations and holiday ceremonies. We attended services with my grandparents and it was my first public outing since becoming a full blown child. We took the traditional photo on the steps of the Royal Cathedral before heading home. As was typical for me, I stuck close to my mom. Tessa was far more composed and confident walking in public. She was born to be queen.
The toddler stage was over, and it was time to enter a new phase of my life—childhood. My family came over to celebrate! Aunt Di and Uncle Ethan brought over our new baby cousins, Jen and Lacey. We took, what we didn’t know would be our last, family photo with both of my grandparents.
Winterfest is all about family, so of course there will be family photos taken.
Rami asked her big cousin to read her a book. Carmen complied with the little terror. She did not want to be hit, kicked, or beaten.

Afterthe awkward encounter, it was time for class. Imani was studious and focused the first half of the day. But after lunch, she wasn't feeling well. She was drained. Sis was on the struggle bus trying to pay attention.
Imani has been with her dad for over a year in game. I decided to follow her to school. On this occasion she had a super awkward encounter with this guy. All she did was introduce herself and he started yelling at her. The environment is very different from what she was used to living with her mom. Malakai and Rashida send all of the kids to private school. Before her mom passed, Imani had only ever attended public school.
Cole arranged a service in Willow Creek for his beloved wife. He led a moment of silence and Aaron gave a moving euology for his mother.
The family gathered around Alex's grave where Caterina and Charlie lit candles to honor their mother.
On this day in the Miller save: Cole exited the save a year ago. It's been about 13 years in game since this happened.
Spending some time with the Ford family today. You'll be seeing them less and less as I refocus primarily on the Millers in this save. But we'll start off with Jae-Seong and his friends playing hide and seek.
Among his friends that met him at the playground, was his younger cousin Antwan. Jae-Seong took selfies with his cousin and his friend before enjoying the scenery alone.
Obviously, a family reunion means pictures!

Caterina, Olivia, and Zoleigh have been friends since before they became family. Olivia was a frequent guest at their house and was even a member of the epic childhood sleepover.
I'm gonna' be honest. The real reason for the family reunion was so baby Bella could meet her relatives!
