That last expression on Burns’ face is exactly what I had in mind when writing a description of a Christmas card photo of Burns and Smithers that they never sent because Burns thought he looked too cheerful in it. Smithers looked pretty similar dressed as a Happy Little Elf.

There’s a good chance I might end up cutting this scene, so I felt I had to mention it.
