I've decided to disable replies on my tumblr blogs- sorry about that!
The truth is that I just don't enjoy using tumblr the way I used to. For years, this was a fun place for me to post my art and talk to people. It used to feel very positive and rewarding, and I felt like I was a part of a close knit niche community.
But as my work has grown in popularity, my experience here has become worse and worse.
Excitement and joy has turned to dread and anxiety. More and more often, my comments are becoming filled with minors, adults screaming about minors, rude people who feel entitled to my work telling me I should change it for them, or people constantly asking me to clarify my obvious and fully clear opinions so they can screen cap my response and rub it in someone else's face.
And I suppose I should be honest about the specifics as well.
Over the last year, my games have exploded in popularity in a few places thanks to social media. One of the explosions that's changed my experience online a lot is the one in Russia.
For anyone who doesn't know, the situation as far as I understand it is this: My games were shared via popular Russian social media. They got very popular, and soon individuals and companies began to pirate my games en masse and sell my art in the form of various merch [ without my permission, obviously ]. These people distributed my games eagerly to hordes of minors. And eventually, the Russian community found me here.
I understand there are a few genuine adult fans from this demographic, so I hope I'm not sounding like I'm condemning everyone just because of where they live.
But, the reality is that my tumblr is overrun with rude young people who think of me as some kind of soulless company. They steal my content and ignore my wishes.
And now I have to witness and deal with this constant fighting between people. I can't handle it any more.
I'm just one woman. I make the games and run the etsy store by myself. I can't fight with people all the time. I don't want this.
For now, I'm disabling replies here. But I'm considering just deleting a bunch of my social media so I can work in peace.
Clarification: This post is only about my social media presence. The production of YKMET: Strade will not be affected- I am still working on it full time and will continue to do so
I'm not comfortable with the way people keep posting my content in places absolutely filled with minors- or even places built specifically for minors.
I see people posting my content on Tiktok, ageless forums, AI chatbots, Discord games, even children's games like Pony Town and Roblox.
And then people come to me- asking why I'm not keeping minors out.
I'm a single human person, and I'm usually dog tired from working on game development. I didn't even know what half of these places were until I saw someone's fan content of my characters in them.
What I'm saying is:
Adults, could you help me out? Could you exercise a little common sense here? I have people asking me if they should buy my body pillows on etsy for their 14 year old sister because she saw your tiktoks.

I worked on this for a few days. I was inspired by a picture from fantastic bondage producer “Cinched and Secured” of an insane, over-the-top mummification that was both crazy sexy and also goofy and cartoony. I’ve included it below. I did heavily reference it!
