Doctor Minerva Steps Out on the Scene

Yesterday, the Palais de Roufort announced that Her Imperial Highness the Princess Minerva has willingly relinquished all of her Imperial Titles and the privileges and stipends that come with them ahead of her nuptials to our Crown Prince Nicholas. The former Pierrelander princess has also stepped down from her position as Ambassador for her cousin earlier this week, paving the way for his new appointee, His Excellency Sir Sebastian Durand.

This information isn't too surprising due to Lunarian law; spouses of future monarchs aren't to hold any foreign titles or political power in a law dating back to the last two hundred or so years. So what, pray tell, will ex-Princess Minerva be doing in the meantime? And is the sudden lack of status a blow to her ego?

Sources close to her say no.

"She couldn't care less about her title and I don't blame her," the Marquis de Neuchatel, Minerva's closest friend and former aide, shares with us. "She's got the love of her life, a daughter she adores, and more money than she knows what to do with. She's already got a plan to put her doctorate to use in the time she has left before the wedding and in less than a year she'll be happy to serve Lunaria as its Crown Princess."

Digging deeper into the little tidbit of information the Marquis gave us we were able to uncover that the former Pierrelander princess will be collaborating with the Windenburg Museum of History on its next cultural exhibit. Dr. Minerva Valois is listed on the museum's website as a team member for the upcoming Pierreland's Cultural Treasures exhibit, debuting in the spring of next year. It's good to know she's putting that anthropology degree to good use!

Earlier today Dr. Minerva was photographed in Windenburg's historical district looking calm and beautiful as ever in a knit dress from Sior and showing off her massive engagement ring.

The stunning brunette's wedding to our Prince Nicky is scheduled for August of next year and it is the most anticipated event in all of Lunaria. Tourism is predicted to see a significant boost, and the wedding paraphernalia alone is predicted to rake in over a billion simoleons for Lunaria's economy. It's over half a year in advance and already hotels and flights in Windenburg are being booked out! Can next year get here any faster? We can't wait!

Charles: I suppose so…Anyways, would you like to share what's got you brooding in front of the fire?

Alivia: But I must. My father paid me a late night visit tonight.

Charles: Ew.

Alivia: He's furious with me.

Charles: What else is new?

Alivia: He's disgusted with the way I've been "handling you". It's becoming an embarrassment for him.

Charles: That's good isn't it? Our efforts are paying off then.

Alivia: It's not good enough. He still hasn't sent word back home yet. He won't risk wasting another bargaining chip in Lunaria if he doesn't have to.

Charles: What do you need me to do, Livvy? Brooke's too good at her job, so not as many stories are leaking as we originally planned.

Alivia: My father has been hinting at this for ages, so I think it's time we raise the stakes.

Charles: Oh? How so?

Alivia: I thought we could pull this off without having to resort to this but I suppose we can't just let you sacrifice your reputation and body all on your own.

Charles: Livvy, I could care less about my reputation and you know that. I'm doing this to help you because I love you. Nothing else matters to me. Whatever it takes, I'm with you to the end.

Alivia: *Voice trembling* I think we should have a baby.

Charles: Alivia...You hate kids.

Alivia: I don't...hate them

Charles: Well, you certainly don't like them either.

Alivia: Father won't call Aarya here unless we create the illusion of his slipping control over you. This is the easiest way.

Charles: And how is having a child going to create that illusion? If anything it cements our ties and his influence over us.

Alivia: The child will be his "control"; he needs to see you straying from me, from us, and he'll take action. I know it. I've seen it before.

Charles: Livvy, I don't mind having kids, I've always known that's what was expected of me in my position. But I don't want to do this when I know you've never wanted them.

Alivia: That's not entirely true.

Charles: You honestly look like you'll vomit when someone asks about it.

Alivia: Ugh, that's because it's no one's business but our own. The audacity to ask that of me is disgusting. Especially from my father.

Alivia: I just...feel ashamed when I think of having children. What child would want to be born into a family like mine? What if Father finds a way to influence them? He's destroyed mine and all my sisters' lives. I don't want to give him the opportunity to do that to my own child.

Alivia: But I know this is the only way to save my sister. So I have to risk this, I have to give it my all, even if that means risking all these fears coming true.

Charles: Alivia...

Alivia: Please, Charlie, you said you'd do anything to help me.

Charles: I meant it, Livvy.

Alivia: I trust you, Charlie, with everything. Especially this. I couldn't do it with anyone else.

Charles: Everything you fear will never come to pass. If you're sure of this, I'll make sure you and our child are safe and happy. Your father won't ever have the chance to ruin their childhood.

Brooke: I'm being serious with you, Your Highness. I won't be able to keep covering your escapades up forever.

Charles: Awww, c'mon, Shep, you can't lose faith in yourself now. I have an appointment with a Governor's daughter next Monday.

Charles: I need you in top form–

Brooke: Do you even hear yourself? You are so damn selfish it's disgusting.

Charles: Don't be like that, Shep. You'll hurt my feelings.

Brooke: Feelings? I doubt you have any of those. You make your staff's lives difficult with your unreasonable behavior, then you go and humiliate your wife every other night. You expect me to pick up after you after every one of your little trysts and look Alivia in the eyes the next day like nothing ever happened. What are you, a monster?

Charles: ...Probably.

Brooke: This isn't some joke.

Charles: Notice how I'm not laughing? Look, if this is too much for you, quit. It's only going to get worse for you from here on if you're already this emotionally distressed.

Charles: Well? What'll it be, Shep? You can crawl back to Regina at anytime–I sure won't be mad.

Duke and Duchess of Rosefielde Attend Charity Gala

The second in line to the throne sure cleans up good!

Earlier this week we got a glimpse of Lunaria's Wildest Prince hanging on the arm of, shocker, his lovely wife the Duchess Alivia. The two attended an elite, invite-only, gala at the ultra exclusive Corinne Ballroom in Rosefielde. The gala was hosted by the Dhurian Cultural Exchange Society (DCES), a non-profit organization that supports Dhurian immigrants in integrating into Lunarian society. Duchess Alivia sits as its patron.

The party, which includes prominent Dhurian ex-pats, local politicians and businessmen, and even a few members of the House of Lords, is to raise money for the new language school the DCES is building in the city. The new school will support the teaching of Simlish to local immigrants, from children to the elderly. The classes will be held in the evening from seven to nine in order to support regular school and work hours.

Prince Charles and Duchess Alivia looked to be in a lovely mood as they walked the red carpet of the event. The two haven't stepped out as a couple in quite some time so paps were excited to nab what little photos they could of them.

Duchess Alivia has begged off from many of her scheduled engagements this past summer leading to wild rumors about her health to even a pregnancy. Her fans will be happy to see her looking in perfect health during her arrival but no baby bump could be spotted either. Their Royal Highnesses have been married for a little over five years and many online are speculating on when they'll finally truly settle down and start a family of their own.

Prince Charles, meanwhile, has been allegedly photographed at several events with other women (who are not his wife...). Tonight though, his eyes were all on the stunning Alivia who wowed in a deep plum colored Sior gown. She was also decked out in thousands of dollars worth of gold and diamonds, including a pair of gorgeous drop earrings rumored to be an apology gift from His Royal Highness.

Lunaria's Current Line of Succession

Has the Lunarian Royal Family's curse struck again?

Hundreds of years ago, the Mad King Edward IV lost his throne and his head to his second son, Xavier II after a brutal and bloody war that spanned the course of ten years. The reason? He disinherited his first son, Crown Prince Caspian, for marrying a woman he disapproved of, had her captured and executed in front him, driving him to take his own life as well. These actions destabilized the Monarchy to the point of a peasant rebellion due to the former Crown Prince's popularity with the people...on top of King Edward's bad spending habits, fascination with blood, war, and torture, and overall hotheaded disposition, of course.

Standing upon the gallows his last words were a curse to his offspring: "Whichever of you rotten curs sits my throne, suffer and lose love and legacy both! Sow nothing, reap nothing!"

Those words? They stuck. Like, really stuck, to the point where King Xavier II lost three of his four boys within the first five years of his reign. Then his last surviving son lost four wives before a singular Heir was produced. Then that Heir lost his first wife to illness, his second in the birth of a singular daughter, and his third to a fever only months after the birth of their only, sickly son. So on and so forth this horrid luck plagued the House of Quinn for generations, all the way up until King Vincent and Queen Ana.

They were seemingly the first to "break" the curse, producing three healthy children, two of which were boys who could inherit the Lunarian throne. Until Queen Ana's illness prevented them from expanding their family even further the way they wanted to. After, we saw hope with then-Crown Prince Arden and Crown Princess Calla who also produced two healthy sons and a wonderful daughter. But then poor Crown Princess Calla was assassinated, King Arden has disinherited his daughter entirely, his second son doesn't seem to want to settle down and have kids, and the current Heir to the throne has only been able to produce a daughter out of wedlock. And yes, Crown Prince Nicky is engaged to be wed so there's still hope for the future but with the family's current track record, many in the House of Lords are fretting.

Huge Crowds Drawn For Queen Regina's First Solo Appearance of the Season

Today Queen Regina visited the Windenburg Women's Reproductive Health Center (aka the WWRHC) located in the iconic Waterfront District. The visit drew hundreds out to get a glimpse of Her Majesty who seemed overjoyed to be back at work. Today's visit is in line with her status as the WWRHC's Royal Patron; she's come out to tour the newly rebuilt facility after it had suffered from heavy vandalism from protesters last summer.

The WWRHC is involved with providing women from low-income backgrounds with accessible healthcare centered around gynecology, breast and ovarian cancer, pregnancy, and many other conditions. It has helped hundreds of thousands of women in Lunaria stay on top of their healthcare. The new facility has expanded to include another wing now which can accommodate another fifty rooms dedicated to cancer screenings and research. The center now also boasts a separate facility dedicated entirely to fertility care; from IVF treatments to oocyte cryopreservation (egg freezing) and sperm donations the new services will help many women who are struggling to start families of their own.

Queen Regina has made it her mission to put women at the forefront of her charities and patronages, keeping women's issues in Lunaria in the spotlight with her own popularity. Her Majesty has inspired so many to be the voice for change, so much so, that the House of Commons had changed its laws to include women representatives earlier this year.

Her studies and breakthroughs on oocyte cryopreservation has significantly boosted the success rate of pregnancies curated through IVF over the last two decades.

Happy Birthday to Duchess Claire!

Today marks the Duchess of Andale's 46th birthday! The Duke and Duchess' joint Simstagram account released a brand new photo of the two in celebration.

The couple, who have been married for over two decades, pose in the drawing room of their official residence Highland House. Prince Rhys wears his family orders for the formal portrait and stands tall behind his seated wife. Duchess Claire looks regal in her deep blue gown and satin gloves. The Duchess also shows off the iconic Lover's Diamond Kokoshnik tiara, a piece originally loaned to her by her former mother-in-law, the late Queen Ana; King Arden has allowed her to keep it upon his ascension to the throne.

This photo is the first to feature the Duchess of Andale in over a year. With her seeming disappearance, many rumors have spread speculating on the reason for her stepping back from public engagements. From a serious illness to the Duke participating in another affair, the public have been waiting for Highland House or the palace to make an official statement. So far no comments have been made; although perhaps they've taken the "a picture's worth a thousand words" approach?

King and Queen Attend Governor's Ball in Del Sol Valley

Kicking off the first official event of the season, King Arden and Queen Regina attend the Del Sol Valley Governor's Ball at the prestigious Rotterdam Ballroom in the Del Sol Grand Hotel. The ball is a celebration for the inauguration of the Del Sol region's new Governor Hiram Macnair; a man who has had public backing from the Queen's very own Harwood family. It was a close race, with Hiram's opponent, the Devonshire family-backed Earl of Clarence, losing by a close twenty votes.

Governor Macnair ran on forward thinking politics centered around women's rights. His matter-of-fact, go-getter attitude coupled with his philanthropic background gained him immense popularity with Del Sol residents. His partnership with many of the Harwood family's legal initiatives regarding women's inheritance has transformed the Del Sol region of Lunaria into one of the most progressive in the country. The most recent has tackled a woman's right to inherit certain properties from their parents, which under Lunarian law must be offered to any male relatives before it can be offered to any daughters in the family. The newly appointed governor has promised to keep the momentum going during his term.

The King and Queen have attended multiple Governor's Balls throughout the country but this one in particular is close to their hearts. Not only is Queen Regina a part of the Harwood family who has supported Macnair's career and ideals, his wife, Sonya, is one of her close personal friends. The two attended university together and even shared a dorm during their freshman year. His Majesty the King has on multiple occasions hosted Governor Macnair in court, connecting him with supportive members of the House of Lords and attempting to introduce his ideals on a national level.

Their Majesties spent the evening mingling with he crème de la crème of Del Sol Valley, an eye-catching couple dressed to the nines. The two have a packed schedule this fall so we'll be seeing a lot more of them!

Grand Duke Ricardo Announces Engagement

His Royal Highness Ricardo, Grand Duke of Castille has announced his fifth engagement to Lady Mariella de Castillo. The two stood outside the gates of the Palacio de Verano to make the announcement directly to the Castillian press.

The Lady Mariella, 25, was appointed as the late Grand Duchess Eliana's Lady-in-Waiting two years ago. She is the granddaughter of His Royal Highness's top advisor, the Marqués de Castillo, Eduardo. She received a top-tier education in political science from the University of Castillon, one of the top schools in Castille.

Grand Duchess Eliana was incredibly fond of her, oftentimes taking her along during her overseas tours and engagements. She was also frequently spotted on vacation with the Grand Duke and Duchess and their children.

Lady Mariella was one of the few people who were by the previous Grand Duchess's side in Asteria before her tragic skiing accident. She has been said to have been a source of comfort for the Grand Duke and his children before a romance blossomed between her and Ricardo.

HRH proposed with his great-great grandmother's §2,500,000 antique diamond ring, which has not been seen in public for over seventy years. King and Queen Celebrate Wedding Anniversary

We're kicking off the fall season in Lunaria by celebrating the King and Queen's wedding anniversary!

The Royal Family's official Simstagram released this photo of the couple taken at a previous family gathering to celebrate a decade of marriage. The two will reportedly be spending their anniversary at the Windenburg Palace with a full dining service curated by one of Her Majesty's favorite Michelin star chefs. Afterwards, it's rumored that the King has also scheduled a small, private performance from renowned vocalist Maria Dobre, also a favorite of the Queen!

No Titles? No Problem! Former Princess Ana Flaunts Her Man!

The House of Lords has finished their Summer session this week, so residents of Margate were treated to a sighting of their Duke and soon-to-be-Duchess on an afternoon stroll to the shops! Today is the first glimpse of a casual outing of the two in public.

With the end of the summer session, the Duke will have plenty of time to spend with his fiancee for the next month which sources close to the couple claim has already started to be a bone of contention between the two. As far as we can tell though, the grass couldn't be greener between these two! They were spotted grabbing something to eat at a popular local bistro where they laughed and chatted before shopping.

While the couple has announced their engagement, no date has been set for a wedding. Rumor has it that the Duke hasn't even been able to meet with any of the former Princess's siblings or parents. (Not surprising considering the whole disowning thing though...It must be rough to be Ana right now!)

Seeing her happily out and about with her fiancé makes Ana seem like she isn't worried about any of this at all. Perhaps she can teach us how to be this unbothered someday.

Ambassador From Castille Meets With The King

Yesterday evening His Excellency Ambassador Ramon Cortez of Castille was spotted entering the Windenburg Palace to presumably meet with His Majesty the King. The visit is rumored to be a last minute meeting scheduled at the request of the Grand Duke Ricardo of Castille.

Relations between Lunaria and Castille have cooled significantly since the incidents surrounding the former Princess Isadora of Castille. (Rumored baby trapping? Murder for hire? Isadora Aguilar was a real piece of work!) The once close ruling families of the two countries have not been photographed together in years; a shock after the close bonds of friendship built when King Arden was a young Crown Prince during one of Grand Duke Ricardo's State Visits.

While Lunaria has kept up its treaties with Castille over the years, there is no longer warmth between the two countries. Tourism from Lunarians has dropped drastically according to the last census released by the International Tourism Association; many of our citizens consider it unsafe to travel there.

Perhaps this visit is an olive branch finally being extended by the Castillian government to our own? No official statements had ever been made by the Grand Duke or any members of his family in regards to the Isadora incidents, despite him quickly stripping her of her rank and titles after news broke about her criminal behavior. In fact, the Grand Duke has never even publicly acknowledged Her Royal Highness Princess Magdalena, his biological granddaughter.

We'd pay to be a fly on the wall at this meeting!

Annaliese: What's that supposed to mean? You love running!

Minerva: Driving three hours for a jog is ridiculous. Since when did you want to live in the countryside?

Annaliese: ...I didn't particularly want to, you know that. His Majesty doesn't want to see my face anymore, so what choice did I have?

Minerva: You're not one to give up so easily, so I find it hard to believe that you've abandoned me with all that testosterone in the capital just because your dad is mad at you.

Annaliese: I'm a pretty tough girl, Minnie, but I'm not going to antagonize the King for no reason. I'm busy enough as it is starting to plan my wedding and settling into the new house with Alexei.

Minerva: Uh-huh, sure.

Minerva: *sighs* You're not wrong. But he does feel very betrayed, Ana, so I think it's going to take more time than you think. Your fiancé is technically our political enemy and Nicky and I don't have the luxury of not caring about politics.

Annaliese: Just do me a favor and arrange a meeting for the four of us, ok? If you and Nicky just get to know him, and learn about everything he's experienced with certain individuals from the HoL, it's sure to benefit you in the long run.

Annaliese: Contrary to popular belief, I wouldn't just outright betray my family. Alexei's been playing along to the whims of the HoL because of his ex wife's mistake.

Minerva: I don't know. Ana. It seems like a very convenient excuse if you ask me.

Annaliese: Please, have yourself and Nicky come and hear the story from the source first; you can make all your judgements afterwards. You can even investigate its authenticity yourselves.

Minerva: *sighs* Well, I am curious. I'll arrange something with Nicky, but no promises that he's going to be on his best behavior around the Duke.
