Wedding Day Part 11...

Finally the Bride and her Father have arrived. In a touching display of affection, her Father was seen on occasion, adjusting the veil of his daughters dress and veil.

Crowds went wild at the simple elegance of HIRH dress. The subtlety of the embroidery of her dress.Her sapphires glittered in the sun and HIRH sparkled. 

The close relationship between HIRM Prince-Consort Ngata and his youngest daughter was clear to see. The two were seen laughing and joking on multiple occasions as they smiled and waved to the adoring crowds.

The procession to the Cathedral doors was slow but some how swift, proper but some how elegant and cheery. Now, as the pair climb the steps to the doors we finally draw close to the Ceremony, where Marasea’s most talked about and adored couple will finally make their vows.

The Battle of Glynn Point - 100 Year Anniversary, GOES WRONG

The Royal Family including: TM The King and Queen and the Queen Mother, TRH The Prince and Princess of the Isle, the Princess Royal, Princess Victoria Duchess of Stonesby, The Duke of Clivendale, Prince and Princess Alexander of Clivendale, Their Highnesses Princess Marie and Prince Albert of Clivendale, and HIH The Tsaraevna of Krasnoyarsk attended a service in celebration of the victory of the Battle of Glynn Point. The Royal Family was taking a procession to the Naval Academy, where Admiral and General of the Fleet, Prince Alexander of Clivendale will give a speech.

The Battle of Glynn Point was a special battle which marked a turning point the Great War. The battle was primarily Windenburg VS. Burgundy (@thesimsroyalfam). This marked the downfall of the Kingdom of Burgundy in its struggle to control the bay. 

IN A SHOCKING TURN OF EVENTS SMOKE FLOODED THE PROCESSION, 4 MEMBERS OF THE ROYAL FAMILY INJURED FROM BOMB AND GUNSHOTS

Suddenly, smoke flooded the procession and a loud explosion could be heard. A bomb was thrown at the third carriage which held the Duke of Clivendale, and Prince and Princess Alexander of Clivendale. HRH Charlotte, Princess Alexander of Clivendale ended up escaping but looks like the three others have not. The assassin has not been caught but he reportedly ran through the streets. The Police are currently searching for him the city. Immediately after the explosion, the members of the Royal Family in the first and second carriage jumped out of their carriages and were brought to safety. The Royal Family has been moved to a secure and undisclosed location in San Myshuno. The horses ran wild in the procession, scared of the loud noises of the gunshot and bombs. It has been suspected that the assassin might be a Burgundy or Forgotten Hollow Nationalist, bitter about the defeat of their country in the Great War.

The Imperial Family is grouped around the TV, eagerly waiting for the results of the elections to be announced. Archduke Dion enters the room a few minutes late. 

Dion: Sorry for being late, I was just-- 

Heida: SHH! They're about to announce the results!

*TV Anchor: ... the exit polls have just closed and it looks like we have our results. Sixteen seats for the Conservatives, fifteen for the Progressives, eleven for the Centrists and two for the Monarchists.*  

Sequoia: Fifteen for the Progressives?! They should have gotten five at most! I thought they were finished after that whole Harrison fiasco. Sometimes I wonder if the people of this country even know what they want.

Felix: Now, now, mama- I’m sure they’re perfectly capable of electing the leaders they see as-- 

Lux: No, they clearly aren’t. And don’t you contradict your mother in such a blatantly rude way again. 

Felix: Rude?! I was merely stating my--

Sequoia: Enough, you two. I’m tired of your incessant petty squabbles. Pull yourselves together. I’m going to bed. 

Lux: It’s still quite early, Quoia. 

Sequoia: I have a meeting with Nancy first thing tomorrow. We have much to discuss. Good night. 

Arda: I’ll also call it a day, I have some errands to run early in the morning tomorrow.

The Empress and Crown Princess leave the room. 

Heida: Well, I think the results reflect the people’s will. Maybe we do need change. 

Lux: Don’t be ridiculous, Heida. You’re starting to sound like Jeremy Harrison. 

Heida: I’m not being ridiculous, grandpa! And you know I’d never support that egotistical maniac, I see right through him. I simply think that we must adapt to the changing times, as all things should. 

Dion: I personally think that this election means nothing. Two of the most unpopular Party leaders in history battling against one another. Next time the Centrists will take back the Senate, mark my words. 

Heida: You’re making no sense, D. If the Centrists failed to take the Senate this year - with, as you said, two of the most unpopular candidates on the Cons’ and Progs’ tickets - how will they be able to take the Senate next time? 

Dion: You misunderstood me. They’re both very popular among their respective bases of support, but are wholly detested by the opposite side. Progressives have burned Dieskau in effigy several times, while Conservatives spread nasty conspiracy theories about Harrison. This isn’t normal. We’ve never had such a heated election before. So next time, people will want to return to normal. They will seek stability. And that’s what the Centrists provide. 

Heida: Hmm... now I catch your drift. But it depends on so many different things! If the Conservatives do a good job in the next five years, they might win a larger majority in the next election cycle. 

Dion: Well, I know who I’ll be voting for.

Felix: Enough politics for today, kids. Let’s go up to dinner. 

Lux: Yes, let’s.

Just a few more WIP pictures before I get the ball rolling here. Yes, the battlements are all accessible in this build which is kind of fun. I had imagined posing some soldiers standing there for my story. The servants quarters are in a large basement with a few separate rooms, which I was thinking would be good for the live in butler (Or a second one since LittleMsSam made that possible with one of her mods). Otherwise, I would make extra household members with the neat trait and have them sleep there. There’s a throne room to hold audience with members of the monarchy, a kitchen a dining hall, a small garden and I’m not sure what I’m going to do with that top left room yet. These are all located on the first floor. Within the next floor or two, I plan to make a nursery, I’ve already got a library mostly made with a very antique feel to it and, of course, there will be bedrooms that are created to be more like large suites for those of the royal family. I’ll post more pictures soon, but I thought this might give you an idea of what the build really looks like.

Lunaria's Current Line of Succession

Has the Lunarian Royal Family's curse struck again?

Hundreds of years ago, the Mad King Edward IV lost his throne and his head to his second son, Xavier II after a brutal and bloody war that spanned the course of ten years. The reason? He disinherited his first son, Crown Prince Caspian, for marrying a woman he disapproved of, had her captured and executed in front him, driving him to take his own life as well. These actions destabilized the Monarchy to the point of a peasant rebellion due to the former Crown Prince's popularity with the people...on top of King Edward's bad spending habits, fascination with blood, war, and torture, and overall hotheaded disposition, of course.

Standing upon the gallows his last words were a curse to his offspring: "Whichever of you rotten curs sits my throne, suffer and lose love and legacy both! Sow nothing, reap nothing!"

Those words? They stuck. Like, really stuck, to the point where King Xavier II lost three of his four boys within the first five years of his reign. Then his last surviving son lost four wives before a singular Heir was produced. Then that Heir lost his first wife to illness, his second in the birth of a singular daughter, and his third to a fever only months after the birth of their only, sickly son. So on and so forth this horrid luck plagued the House of Quinn for generations, all the way up until King Vincent and Queen Ana.

They were seemingly the first to "break" the curse, producing three healthy children, two of which were boys who could inherit the Lunarian throne. Until Queen Ana's illness prevented them from expanding their family even further the way they wanted to. After, we saw hope with then-Crown Prince Arden and Crown Princess Calla who also produced two healthy sons and a wonderful daughter. But then poor Crown Princess Calla was assassinated, King Arden has disinherited his daughter entirely, his second son doesn't seem to want to settle down and have kids, and the current Heir to the throne has only been able to produce a daughter out of wedlock. And yes, Crown Prince Nicky is engaged to be wed so there's still hope for the future but with the family's current track record, many in the House of Lords are fretting.

There are less than ten in Lunaria's line of succession. As of now the succession line consists of:

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Nicholas, Duke of Ancastor

His Royal Highness Prince Charles, Duke of Rosefielde

His Royal Highness Prince Rhysander, Duke of Andale

His Highness Prince Matthew, Earl of Odair

Lord Jacob of Odair

His Highness Prince Adrian of Andale

A measly six men (or technically five men and a toddler) eligible to take charge if something should – Watcher-forbid – happen to the King. Most of our neighbors have fifteen or more in line barring Windsor, which is newly independent.

It feels like somewhere, in the worst part of the afterlife, the Mad King is getting the last laugh.

No Titles? No Problem! Former Princess Ana Flaunts Her Man!

The House of Lords has finished their Summer session this week, so residents of Margate were treated to a sighting of their Duke and soon-to-be-Duchess on an afternoon stroll to the shops! Today is the first glimpse of a casual outing of the two in public.

With the end of the summer session, the Duke will have plenty of time to spend with his fiancee for the next month which sources close to the couple claim has already started to be a bone of contention between the two. As far as we can tell though, the grass couldn't be greener between these two! They were spotted grabbing something to eat at a popular local bistro where they laughed and chatted before shopping.

While the couple has announced their engagement, no date has been set for a wedding. Rumor has it that the Duke hasn't even been able to meet with any of the former Princess's siblings or parents. (Not surprising considering the whole disowning thing though...It must be rough to be Ana right now!)

We're waiting patiently for more wedding drama though! Will it conflict with the Royal Wedding between the Crown Prince and Princess Minerva? Will she find a way to reconcile with her family? Is she still even invited to her brother's wedding?

Seeing her happily out and about with her fiancé makes Ana seem like she isn't worried about any of this at all. Perhaps she can teach us how to be this unbothered someday.

Ambassador From Castille Meets With The King

Yesterday evening His Excellency Ambassador Ramon Cortez of Castille was spotted entering the Windenburg Palace to presumably meet with His Majesty the King. The visit is rumored to be a last minute meeting scheduled at the request of the Grand Duke Ricardo of Castille.

Relations between Lunaria and Castille have cooled significantly since the incidents surrounding the former Princess Isadora of Castille. (Rumored baby trapping? Murder for hire? Isadora Aguilar was a real piece of work!) The once close ruling families of the two countries have not been photographed together in years; a shock after the close bonds of friendship built when King Arden was a young Crown Prince during one of Grand Duke Ricardo's State Visits.

While Lunaria has kept up its treaties with Castille over the years, there is no longer warmth between the two countries. Tourism from Lunarians has dropped drastically according to the last census released by the International Tourism Association; many of our citizens consider it unsafe to travel there.

Perhaps this visit is an olive branch finally being extended by the Castillian government to our own? No official statements had ever been made by the Grand Duke or any members of his family in regards to the Isadora incidents, despite him quickly stripping her of her rank and titles after news broke about her criminal behavior. In fact, the Grand Duke has never even publicly acknowledged Her Royal Highness Princess Magdalena, his biological granddaughter.

We'd pay to be a fly on the wall at this meeting!
