New Order: Last worth the wait
Contrary to another review on this site - an examination frustrating inaccurate in its details on the band - New Order's latest album, Waiting for the Sirens 'Call' stands as one of the best efforts of the band and with an appeal of their classic albums credit, which is really saying something. The first single, "Krafty" is a clever nod to the influence of Kraftwerk on the band and once year, it will be difficult to stop humming the melody. 'S best song of the album, and perhaps the best song of New Order, for "Regret" is the title track. Peter Hook's lead bass melody is a return to the triumphs of "Temptation" and "Kiss The Perfect" and the text on this song are among the most moving, the band has ever written, but lyrically, the band once again suffers compared to his days as Joy Division, The Haunted when Ian Curtis was writing the suicide note as text. The duet with Scissor Sisters singer Ana Matronic (surely one of the biggest names in rock by Poly Styrene) is another triumph in the project, and something a little 'different for the band. This could be the song most un-New Orderish the band has ever written, but the duo has performed admirably between Matronic and singer Bernard Sumner and creates an evocative atmosphere which, unfortunately, the video does not capture. Is there anything missing from this effort by New Order and Gillian Gilbert broad wash of keyboards. The sound of the keyboard has become as much a part of new law enforcement as low Hook and there is a definitive difference, without her, but his replacement steps deftly challenge of bringing something new to the mix. New Order is clearly not the latest sign of a band struggling to recover. No, this album is without doubt the best thing I've ever heard on the radio this year. That is, if American radio would play New Order!
