Research the funding mechanisms of dance and dance companies in the UK:

1. How are larger/international; companies funded- look at Arts Council, a examples of a company, how else do they fund the company

2. How can smaller companies/projects be funded

5. Since the birth of social media how do you believe a dance artist has adapted or changed their practice, and how have audience demands changed?

1. Using your research plan (slides) evaluate the effectiveness of primary sources of research (Books, pictures, websites) What would you do differently?

2. Assess what secondary research you used (Choreographic experiments, your own opinions/evaluations, creating and conducting a questionnaire, focus group feedback- was is effective, how could you improve this type of research? What were the advantages and disadvantages of the research conducted by each of your secondary research methods (You can add to your slides) What would you do differently?

3. Make sure throughout your work you are justifying the research method - why did you use it, what did you gain from conducting this research?

Urgent message level 3 danxe

Dear all level 3 dancers- please copy and paste this message and send to everyone please I have rearranged tomorrow morning so that I can be in at 8am I will be expecting all level 3 dancers in at 8am so that we can go through all dances so that you are feeling more comfortable with the choreography If you are unable to make it, I expect a message sent via tumblr or Twitter. I have had to rearrange quite a bit for me to come in to rehearse, please honour that commitment by being there See you bright and early Sindy

Monday 19th june

By the end of the session you will have: 1. Identified key priorities to be addressed for end of year show 2. Rehearsed all choreographed material focusing on performance and technical skills 3. Choreographed/created and performed transitions 4. Conduct preparation work on the theatre ensure the space is prepared for a dance show

Level 3 Dance: Friday 16th September

Recap task- in partners discuss the areas of the show that still need addressing, and give feedback to the choreographer (Tutor) on how you would approach these areas

By the end of the lesson you will have:

1. Identified and choreographed transitional material, enabling smooth movement between the different sections

2. Rehearse and practice choreographed material focusing on performance and technical skills

3. Rehearse the whole performance working on stamina and identifying when and where energy needs to be used and saved

Level 3 Dance: Contemporary

Recap task - Reflect on previous lesson and identify areas of development, discuss your targets with a partner

By the end of the session you will have:

1. Recapped all previously choreographed material focusing on developing movement memory and spatial awareness

2. Establish and perform the technical features of the style and choreography, by identifying the techniques and putting into practice

3. Select, edit and reject of choreographic material for the final piece

Level 3 Dance: Friday 9th June

Recap task:

Watch the film of your performance and identify 5 areas where you need to improve. Set SMART targets for further development

By the end of the session you will have:

1. Analysed the lyrics of the song (Go Outside), identified where choreography has previously been completed and where choreography still needs to be established.

2. In small groups, choreograph dance material as a response to the stimulus (Lyrics) using the lyrical and musical accompaniment as reference

3. Recap, refine and practice choreography focusing on spatial design and performance qualities

Level 3 viola beach dance- this material needs practicing

4. Budget sheet - you are putting on a show- budget the incomings and outgoing in a appropriate format - look at TMA rates for wages, tickers sales, costumes etc

5. What is Public and Private funding and name companies that access this.
