It was not surprising to walk into one of the pirates when she was walking through the palace. Some hadn’t departed yet and because the Surgeon of Death was travelling with the Straw Hats he was still on the island. She could see his mood drop further the longer they stayed and waited for their Log Pose to set again. She knew he was in a hurry because this wasn’t his crew but they did everything they could to make the pirates’ stay as pleasant as it could be.

Nothing was more important for a princess than to know the fellow kingdoms and their rulers. Her mother had taught her everything about kings and queens when she had been young and had always made sure that she knew about new fellow princesses and princes. Vivi was only two years older than her niece and she remembered the day her parents had told her about the birth of the little princess of Alabasta and she remembered the little present they had sent them.

She loathed the family, every single one of them. If she could, she’d stay away from all of them. Sometimes it was almost too hard to just stand there and talk to them when she should stab every single one of them to save her country. It did not belong to them and without anyone knowing they were endangering the lives of them all.

Viola rarely wandered through the palace these days because it was so much easier to walk between the civilians on the streets and to dance for them. She was not supposed to help Doflamingo keep the country he had violently taken from her family but what was she supposed to do? If she died a traitor, so would the rest of her family and she could not do that to Scarlett. Rebecca was too young to be reunited with her mother.

Things were going smoothly until someone got into her way. Another person she would’ve preferred not to meet.

Though they were still busy rebuilding big parts of the city, things were slowly getting back to normal and Viola was having more and more time to spare and so she had been introduced to the rest of Luffy’s crew. And so it happened that she was spending most of her time with Chopper when she wasn’t helping the citizens of Dressrosa.

One afternoon she told the little reindeer to rest a little because it would be no problem for her to check up on one of her favorite patients. Some of his injuries were partly her fault after all. She should’ve warned him of Doflamingo’s powers and she shouldn’t have left him alone there. If Law hadn’t helped him, there would be no Sanji to visit.

Knocking on the door, she entered but leaned against the frame for a good while.

Things were finally calming down and it was almost time for the Straw Hats to set sail again. She would be forever grateful for saving their country from Doflamingo. The days after the fight had been her happiest in ten years and no pirate crew was as fun to be around as the one that had rescued them. Though they were all still recovering from their injuries and the fights that had taken place, the nights were long and the days more enjoyable than the last ten years put together. It was finally starting to feel like home again.

Viola had spent most of the day in a dark part of the palace’s kitchen and though one of their cooks had offered their help, she did not want it. Her young blond savior had entered a couple of times but the former dancer had hidden somewhere every time. He was not supposed to see her or what she was doing. Not until she was done.

She approached him later that evening, a tray in her hand and a smile on her lips.

He could eat as many as he wanted. They were for him after all. Just a small thank you compared to what he had done for her.

Ever since her father had been overthrown and she had promised to serve under their new king, she had tried to spend as much time on the streets dancing and observing the city. Dressrosa wasn’t what it used to be and it was impossible to forget what had happened to her family; to her sister. But this wasn’t about her, this wasn’t supposed to be pleasant. All she wanted was to keep the rest of her family safe. Only if she obeyed, nothing would happen to her niece and her father. Their lives were more important to her than her own. If she had to help him keep his position than she would do so, though she would never be truly loyal to him.

Regular reports were necessary but she always sent someone else. Her underlings were loyal to her but the former princess knew that their true loyalty belonged to the man she desperately wanted to see dead.

But today was different; he had called for her and she was in no position to say no to him. Her day on the streets had been rather short, knowing that she would have to walk to the palace afterwards. One of her guards accompanied her, most likely to make sure that she did nothing stupid but she knew she would not stand a chance against the Shichibukai.

How could they let him do this to them?

She bowed down to him when she entered the room, knowing that she should at least act like she respected him.

Nothing made her feel more disgusted with herself.

{✿} The plan was a dud. It was predicted that nothing was going to go smoothly but this was way to hectic than Camilla originally thought. She really wished that she had kept a closer eye on Luffy, not just watching him on the screen as the tournament went on.

She had successfully made her way through the town to the colosseum, only to get there after it was over. Now the girl was heading to the palace, or at least she was trying to get there.Despite the fact that it was in the center of all the frenzy she couldn’t get there fast enough. Actually, she couldn’t get there at all. Maybe it would be best if she got directions instead of just running in the opposite direction of the people trying to escape.

“Are you heading to the Palace by any chance?” Camilla came along the side of a woman who seemed to be headed the same way she was. Though that could mean she was a possible enemy, or she could be an ally. She took a chance hoping that it would be the second.

It had been hard to leave Sanji behind, knowing that he was not prepared for what Doflamingo could throw at him. But she had preparations to take care of to successfully overthrow the man who had been suppressing her whole country for ten years. Still, she kept an eye on the young man and what happened between Law and their king.

Now she was on the way to the palace and to avoid suspicious looks from members of the family she had abandoned her horse shortly after. Though it would be the faster method, they would spot her easily and she could not get caught up in a fight now, though her own underlings were nothing she couldn’t handle on her own.

Though she was able to avoid the soldiers, a young woman who seemed to be heading the same way approached her. Viola was in too much of a rush to use her powers.
