I haven't used this blog in years but thank you to the people who still like my old art. The notifications bought on mad nostalgia lol I miss Borderlands so much. I'm surprised most of my stuff hadn't been nuked by tumblr.

Reminder I’m active on twitter/posting art there for now. This blog will remain up but not sure when/if I’ll post here anymore do to the reposting issue (I feel like tumblr was a huge contributing factor based on a few things). My tumblr is in indecisive limbo right now. Doesn’t mean I’m gone for good here but posting art is not happening for now. Same with instragram which was a pain in the ass to post to to begin with.

Dear anon, I’m so sorry but I gotta unload this on this ask. Sorry in advance though this has been an issue for me for a looooong time, since I started using this site:

I have been getting a lot of trouble for kin stuff in general (some people have been very rude and I occasionally get anon hate for it) since I started posting art and I learned that this tag is dependent upon the person in terms of definition and purpose.

I have contacted various kin blogs/users-to request the kin tag removal on my posts-and some have told me it can be a kin comfort character and some (more rude than others) have told me it just means a character that does as the tag says: provide comfort and nothing more. Some kin and use this tag and some kin blogs users have told me it is a known kin related tag and some who use the tag kin the character and some do not. It’s really subjective and honestly has become a headache for me. For various reasons from it becoming more prominent of a problem with my art to how rude people can be over it. I have reached a point where I no longer approach kindly and talk through it I am just blocking users who use these tags on my posts after I expressed I prefer them not to. It’s less stress and 8-out-of-10 the users are really nasty about it ;;;;So, to make it easier since I no longer individually approach people (for various reasons) and I just count ‘cc’ as a kin tag since there’s literally no way for me to know unless I ask every person who uses it and I think that’s too much work and the likelihood the person will attack me with their friends is VERY high. It’s happened a few times while I’m I was publicly berated on their blog for who knows how long, I never stay long enough to find out. Not worth it. I’m not asking anyone to do anything unreasonable and I’d think people who kin wouldn’t want to reblog my art if I do not like the tags on my art but I’ve had people get really nasty about it then reblog it out of spite with friends while they call me names in my inbox. On anon, of course on anon. If I turn off my anon at any time it’s usually because of this. I turned off replies to avoid this because some people are ballzier with their hate than others. Well, this is tumblr after all and there’s all kinds. Even the rude and immature with a vendetta against anyone who has different preferences.

Sorry to unload on your ask but I’ve gotten so much trouble from this tag and kin tags in general. I’m 100% done with dealing with people about it because it’s like RNG how they will react. I’ve had a ration of 2:100 of people who were kind and people who were jerks. I’m never going to drop account names (I never do) but the block button works wonders either way.

Finally for the kinder kin users who not only was respectful to me but wasn’t nasty and may still be following (or kin blogs that follow and respect the rule): Thank you so much. I’m not small minded enough to think all kin users are this way and this small amount of respect means a lot to me.

Reblog vs. Repost

It’s exactly as it sounds.

Reblogging is when you hit the double arrowed reblog button, one of the main functions on the tumblr media site. Usually harmless (unless you are reblogging uncredited/stolen stuff). Reblogging always will have some source to the original poster.

Re-posting is when you take/save an existing post on another person’s blog and post it yourself, whether it is on tumblr or another social media site, instead of reblogging it. Usually harmful (unless the original poster explicitly gives permission for others to repost). Whether you give no credit, some credit, or say it’s “not yours,” it’s incredibly wrong to repost without permission from the original poster.
