The Nerdy Prudes Tell The Choir About Max

[Richie, Ruth, Grace, Steph and Pete are hanging out with Ocean, Noel, Misha, Ricky, Penny and Constance. Richie, Ruth, Ricky (jokingly referred to as "the Rs" by others) and Penny (who is translating for Ricky while also contributing to the conversation) are in one corner of the room. Ocean, Grace and Constance are all in an other. Noel, Misha, Pete and Steph are talking over by one of the walls. Max enters.]

Max: What's up, lo-. What are you all doing? Is this some sort of cult of weirdos?

[Grace rolls her eyes. She says nothing.]

Ricky, signing: Who's that?

Penny, translating to Ruth and Richie: "Who's that?"

Richie: That's... Max Jägerman. Hatchetfield High's star football player and biggest bully.

Ruth: He's right. Max is the school's public enemy number 1. Specifically for us "nerds".

Ricky, signing: He's a complete asshole, then?

Penny, translating: "He's a complete asshole, then?"

[Grace walks over to Max, the first to confront him.]

Max, clearly trying to flirt: Chasity. What do you want from me, girl?

Grace: You know darn well what I want! I want you to leave us alone.

Max: And why should I do that, baby?

[Grace ignores the petname and continues trying to defend the nerds and the choir.]

Grace: Because...

[Grace stands there as she tries to think of a distraction. Noel facepalms.]

Grace: I'll go on a date with you.

Max, in genuine shock: Wait. Really? I thought you were too goody good for that?

Grace: I'm making an exception.

[Max takes Grace's hand and the two exit.]

Noel, whispering to Misha: Homophobic or closet homosexual?

Misha, placing down a 10 dollar bill: This is on homosexual.

[Pete and Steph watch, confused.]

Steph: What are you on about?

Noel: Oh. Sometimes when we see a new person we bet on whether they are homophobic or queer.

Pete: And if it's just a straight, supportive person?

Noel: Then nobody wins. It's quite simple.

[Steph discreetly slips another 10 dollar bill on top of Misha's.]

Pete: We're betting on him now?

Steph: I've got nothing better to do.

[Pete places a 1 dollar bill onto the pile.]

Ocean, Grace and Penny on Parents

[Ocean and Grace are sat across from eachother. Both girls are sat with their legs crisscross.]

Ocean: What are your parents like?

Grace: Oh, they're fine. My parents sometimes gross me out but I like them.

Ocean: My parents are weird. My household is the only place I don't belong. My whole family's strange.

[Ocean turns away from Grace.]

Grace: What do you mean?

[Ocean laughs to herself.]

Ocean: Do I need to tell you about the sign in our bathroom?

[Grace doesn't respond. She doesn't want to hear how weird this sign may be.]

Ocean: From what I know, I think I'd prefer living with you.

Grace: Well, you better start reading!

Ocean: Reading what?

[Grace takes out a pocket bible. She smiles.]

Grace: The Bible.

Ocean: Bold of you to assume I haven't started already!

[Penny enters.]

Penny: What are you guys talking about?

[Grace and Ocean turn to Penny.]

Grace: The Bible.

Ocean: Parents.

[Penny sits down with them.]

Penny: Ooh. Parents. Mine are certainly... something. I love them of course but their lifestyle definitely had an impact on me and Ezra.

[Grace opens her mouth to speak. Decides not to. Ends up speaking anyway.]

Grace: What was their lifestyle?

Penny: Grace. I grew up on a pot farm.

Pete Goes To Taco Bell

Noel and Misha: Talking

[Pete enters. Noel rolls his eyes and signals to Misha that he'll only be a minute.]

Noel, in an extremely bored voice: Welcome to Taco Bell. What do you want?

Pete: I'll just have a crispy chicken burrito.. please.

Noel: Right.

[Noel walks off. Pete turns to Misha.]

Pete: So... who are you? Do you work here?

Misha: Do I look like I work here?

Pete: No?

Misha: There.

[Noel returns with Pete's burrito.]

Noel, sounding a tad happier than before: You've met Misha, then?

Pete: I guess so.

[Pete takes his burrito, watching Misha who has decided to face away. Pete exits.]

Misha: Who was that?

Noel: Oh. He just comes here sometimes. Usually he's at Beanie's though.

[Misha hums in acknowledgement, now watching the door from which Pete left from.]
