"Osomatsu-kun!!! It's been a while." Hanako chirped out, "I miss hanging out with you."
“THERE’S MY PRETTY LITTLE SONGBIRD!”
He took a moment, and composed himself, but he had a huge smile on his face. “I mean, hey, Hanako, what’s shakin?”
oh-no-oniichan:
“Good food and come-as-you-are? Say no more, songbird, I am already on board for this one hundred percent!” He still couldn’t get one hundred percent used to the idea that Hanako - pretty Hanako, who had been Actually Famous and could probably have her pick of anyone she liked in Akatsuka Ward - would actually be willing to hold his hand and be seen in public with him. There had to be some sort of mistake, right? He was one of the most notorious NEETs in town, and she, she….
She liked him.
Time froze for a second in his brain while he tried to get a grip on this, but thankfully, his confidence stepped up to the plate just in time. “Weird? Naaaaaaaah. It’d be weird if you liked, I don’t know, a T. Rex or something, but even then. They have their own charm. Ha ha!!” Okay, Osomatsu, let’s get back on the rails. “I mean, it’s not that weird, because I like you, yeah? So it only makes sense that we’d both, um. Do this. Mutual liking thing.”
Nailed it.
Hanako giggled at the T-Rex thing and drew in a deep breath. “Mutual liking thing.” She repeated then stopped walking, turning to face Osomatsu completely. “So... since we both like each other... and we’re going to a restaurant... w-would you call this a date?”
She genuinely liked Osomatsu. He was confident and funny, and always considerate. At least around HER he was. And he seemed to be one of the most honest people she’s met, so that was another plus in her book.
“D... do you want it to be a date? Because I do.”
