Hello! I figured it was about time to set Silence up with her own askblog! Iterator ocs funney and art is good (though quality and speed may vary, as it is also pain).
Sings in Silence - SiS - She/Her!
Current ask count: 25
The blog is currently in ASK phase!
This blog shares canon and plot with Kindred Disparity once they’re up and running, please check them out as well! More info and rules under the cut.
Straight off the bat - while I love my fluff and silliness, this blog will not shy away from darker and more negative topics should the situation call for it. I will try my best to tag everything accordingly! <3
There will be a mix of regular ask responses (ask phase) and lore/plot content (story phase)! When the blog is in story phase, the askbox will be closed and no new asks will be answered while the plot progresses.
If you see me rping Silence in other places than here, that is most likely non-canon to this blog. Shenanigans here are contained purely on the askblog!
As far as Silence’s canon is concerned, asks are being received through a shoddy communications network she was able to gain access to. Asks will be filtered through this lens, and implied to be answered via text and visual communications.
Silence is heavily nonverbal as far as actual words are concerned, and mainly uses text and sign language to communicate. Please don’t be a dick.
As for actual rules:
No M!As please!
OC / OC interactions are wonderful! Please give me your blorbos.
The particular lore the plot is based off of assumes free-roaming iterators aren’t really a thing. You can still interact!! I just can’t really acknowledge most wanderator shenanigans for the sake of the story.
OC / Canon interactions are also fine! Silence is likely only vaguely aware of who the canon iterators are, since they haven’t been geographically close or relevant to her.
I don’t mind smaller rp threads that may spawn off of answered asks! However, I will likely refrain from any substantial rp both because I don’t have the spoons and I don’t want to complicate my own plot terribly much <3
Please do not send meta asks that attempt to give significant information that Silence has no IC access to! It is perfectly fine to attempt to “nudge” her in the right direction with suggestions, though.
There are certain questions she will likely refuse to answer, or be evasive about. Please don’t take this personally - it’s not that I have anything against you, it’s just the character.
Don’t be weird.
I send asks from @klaxxi, and my rain world blog is @sevenredscugs!
HI SILENCE!!! Have you ever been put in a blanket? Do your scugs bring you warm things??? Are you warm and cozy???
They do~
Any textiles that were left over in my city rotted away centuries ago - it's not exactly a sterile environment, and the humidity doesn't do it any favors either. Thankfully, several of the slugcats have grown quite good at weaving replacements.
...Not that I really... need a blanket to be warm in here-
((Just popping in to say thank you all for helping me hit 100! I'm so glad you're all enjoying my crazy cat lady. Not quite ready to get back into posting just yet, but hoping to do so soon!! Got some fun asks waiting in the inbox~))
You seem to have amassed quite the population, given how low the chances of this occurring naturally are. Care to introduce us to a few of your citizens?
...I have... far too many to go over in a single transmission, but! A couple in particular come to mind.
Keeper was spliced with a green lizard when she, along with her siblings, were captured by one of my groupmates. Poor things were forced into being his errand runners until they were able to make their way to me, but they seem happy enough now. She often volunteers for hunting expeditions down to the ground, since she's less at risk of accidents than the others.
Glint of Perseverance, Digging Ever Deeper (oooor just Glint) was purposed from scratch by another of my group... and discarded when their job was done. They're SO laid back, and love to tell stories to the others. They have plenty-- I'm pretty sure their creator did something to their genome to extend their lifespan, since they were one of the first purposed slugcats to join the colony.
...Most of my citizens aren't as flashy as these two, though. Just wild groups who wandered in and decided to stay, and their descendants of course.
Who’s the scug that we see on your shoulders? Do they have a name?
Of course they have a name! All my citizens do, even the purposed ones-- whether their creators bothered to give them one or not.
This little guy is called Speckled Shores, Reflections Under Spread Paws. Or just Shores. To be honest, I think they originally came down here to sulk - someone ate the last kebab while they weren't looking.
...Not that I'm complaining.
Silence, what would you consider your least favorite organism around your area, and why?
...They're important for the ecosystem and all, but the swamp below my can has an unfortunate amount of them. It only takes a couple latching on to ruin an entire hunt. Or worse.
Hi there fellow iterator, happy to see your communications are up again. Are the colony of slugcats in charge of maintaining your Can now? l'd like to know the viability of recruiting the surrounding colonies for help since my purposed organisms always have their hands full
While wild slugcats are quite smart, they really, probably, shouldn't be messing around with your internals. Like, sure-- if you just need something jostled back into place it may be fine, but more complex stuff? We both know even the experienced maintenance workers mucked it up now and then, and they were the ones supposed to be carrying out repairs.
...Even if it was safe or viable for them to do so, my structure has... issues... that prevent that from really working at all. So no, they just live here. And help with other stuff.
Hello Sings In Silence. do you mind introducing yourself?
But. That's boring- and to be frank, didn't even need to be said in the first place.
...These days I mainly serve as a caretaker for my new citizens - a slugcat colony with a population of around a hundred, give or take. The grand majority of my processing power is devoted to tending to both them, and the jungle I cultivate for them to inhabit.
Maintaining an entire ecosystem that wasn't supposed to exist in the first place does take a fair amount of effort, but... I'd say the results are worth it.
Hi, is this reaching you? Can you hear me? I haven't seen your name on the network before, it's nice to see a new face!
Admittedly, I didn't exactly think asking one of my citizens to open up a panel and poke around would work, but I won't say no to a pleasant surprise now and then~
