HUMILITY — is to acknowledge our dependence on God and to be teachable (John 15:5)
Philippians 2:13 “Yes, it is God who is working in you. He helps you want to do what pleases him, and he gives you the power to do it.”
Daily surrendering to God our will, makes our attitude each day an exhilarating adventure with Him.
What do you have planned for me today, Jesus?
Surrender isn’t just a mental exercise or a lofty concept. It’s an action that requires a conscious choice. It is a decision that engages your entire being.
Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you down and cut off your head. And I will give the dead bodies of the host of the Philistines this day to the birds of the air and to the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel, and that all this assembly may know that the Lord saves not with sword and spear. For the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give you into our hand.”
1 Samuel 17:45-47 ESV
As we incline our hearts to God, our purpose will be revealed.
What entails a good listener? It is understanding what the speaker is saying. It is paying attention, not just merely opening one ear and letting it pass out to the other ear. Listening entails understanding what the speaker wants to convey.
“It is not God’s ears that are not sharp enough to listen to our prayers. He listens to our struggles well. We need to check ourselves if we have listened to the Lord very well.”
“And Samuel said, “Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams.”
