“It Gets Better with Time” x @theinternet *novel caption lol I’m so proud of me and this last year. I still struggle with admitting the good in me or how much I’ve grown. It feels conceited. BUT! It’s ok to speak loving words about yourself. That’s something I’m working on now. I learned in therapy (highly encourage seeing a professional bc my therapist has helped so much) that I’ve been pretty great at “exposure therapy” without even knowing it’s a thing 😂 I’m trying harder to identify the specific things that trigger my anxiety/depression n work on them. I started taking pole and aerial classes to help with self image issues and health problems. Plus dancing has always been a dream. I started going out to bars, usually sober, and trying to socialize and really engage w/ folks without depending on alcohol to loosen me up(my diabetes is like thank God). “Social moth chronicles” as I like calling them. Even trying to not feel like I need to look a specific way or that makeup is “needed”. I booked a live painting event despite hating being in front of crowds. I’m painting more like I used to too. I started writing again and sharing my little thoughts. I’m working really hard on not caring about people that aren’t for me. People will make their assumptions and their judgements based on things they’ve heard that have absolutely nothing to do with them. And that’s fine. Focus on you. Keep your head down n work on your goals. What and who is for you will stick around. The rest will fade away if you just remember what’s important to you. I’m proud of me. Im proud of the work and energy I’ve put into being better. Im proud of the people who stuck around. I’m even proud of the people who let me go. I know I have so far to go, but it’s nice to be happier more often than not. I used to say I miss the old me that wasn’t like this but fuck that!!! I just wanna be better than ever.
