Spiral
Spiral, spinning, twisted, lost
Tumbling, tossing, whirling—tossed
Lost in circles, lost in pain
Dropping down to crumpled shame
Ground torn free, debris, it flies
Truths eroded, shaped as lies
Believing all they said I’d be—
Needed to, or else I’d bleed
I spun and turned, turned inside out
A whispered voice that needed shout
Breaking loose from scripts I played
Naming lies. Unmasking shame.
The spins and twists that used to scare—
They’re setting free, they’re giving air
Unlocking all I held inside
Revealing me, the one who’d hide.
Recalibration
Tingling sparkles flying by
Traveling up and down the spine
Through the legs, down to feet—
Tiny tremors, recalibrating.
Tension leaving, melting through,
Muscles screaming, held with glue.
Pieces scattered, unaware,
Come together—nerve ends flare.
Pained and ached,
Wrapped up tight.
Loosened grasp,
Loosened fright.
Mapping paths, untraveled place—
Catching breath,
Finding safe.
Bedtime
My bedtime ghost, it visits me
Shows me things, refused to see
Connects the dots, holds the mirror
Shows me pain and shows me fear
Feel the sting, feel the pull
Into darkness we both go
Pulling curtains, what I hid
Opened jars that had sealed lids
Look in here and look in there
Pain and darkness that we share
Sorting things once left behind
Clearing space, clearing mind
Company kept while darkness creeps
Is this for you, or is this for me?
We creep, we search
We sit, we cry
When will we finally
Say goodbye
The lake
A sword too big to hold
Words too loud, untold
Silent fury burning deep
Trapped in tar, feet too weak
Screaming endless, lies so bold
Open failure, hurtful scold
Trust in protectors—
Tormented by specters
Never to be left alone
But what if rage could breathe,
Uncurl its fists beneath the sheath?
Not gone—just standing guard
Outside the door, not in my heart.
What if I don’t forget the ache,
But stop drinking from that lake?
Let the blade hang on the wall—
Not erased, but no longer all.
How does one not drink
From lakes of such depth?
Throat parched,
Face a mess.
Endless battle rages inside:
Take up arms, or turn to hide?
Flee the pain, or inflict my own—
The water welcomes.
The water calls.
Inhale now—
1… 2… 3…
Exhale loud—
out to 5…
Drink the water
Or stay alive.
Hey, I just wanted to ask you if everything’s fine? You haven’t posted in a while, so I just wanted to reach out.
Aw... You're very kind. I'm 100% okay! Thank you for checking in on me. I've been on a bit of a journey inside and I just took a break for a while to expand in other areas. Thank you so much, I hope you're doing well. ♥
Strut
Firm little strut
Marching back and forth
With what was found
Laying on the earth
The straightest stick
Like none before
In the beak
Of little bird
What a prize, what a piece
A stick to bring before the queen
Queen of the nest
Queen of the roost
She’ll boast to all
Selected proof
Not just any
Stick would do
For his sweet
A loving coo
Relief
Movement without chains
Path is free of brush
Who could have guessed
We’d find a field so lush
Rays that once had blinded
Guiding me, their beams
Mind of only nightmares
Filling up with dreams
Heat, it used to smother
Blocking all my air
Softly flowing through me
I can only stare
How simple it is to wander
The treasures that were found
How peaceful every step is
Wrists no longer bound
Prayed nightly for these days
Wished and cried for change
I’m walking in their shoes now
Left here feeling strange
Please don’t ever take this
Sensation of relief
Understanding
Feet dug in hard,
shoes in the dirt—
you pull me your way
with unfiltered blurts.
I pull you back,
but it’s clear I’m just
hearing you out,
extending my trust.
Rams in their clash,
deer in their rut,
truths spilling fast,
old patterns cut.
Flustered,
rattled,
frazzled,
distraught—
water needs calm
to mirror our thought.
Seeing ourselves
reflected in time,
the argument stops
its unruly climb.
Back to the steady,
explaining of sides,
embracing what’s handed,
landing softly
into understanding.

Prompt
Arguments are hard to cool off of when in the heat of the showdown. Becoming something primal and natural in its expression. Being able to breathe and find common ground is essential, but it’s not easy. 💟
Couple
Couple of knuckleheads,
Couple of fools—
Can’t get enough
Of the things we do.
Wanting more time,
Craving the fun,
You give me the fuel,
And the fuel never runs.
Unconventional pull,
I’m drawn into you—
Moth to a flame,
In awe of your plume.
Dripping in safety,
Your words—lovely, tasty—
I eat up each one
Like a feast I’ve been served.
Couple of sillies,
Couple of knobs,
Falling forever,
Forever in love.

The Words You Wield
The words that you wield, the power you hold
Beautiful, crafted, thoughtfully bold.
Damaged to silence, raised to obey,
Now standing firm, burning the fray.
Women made soft, people made proud,
Trained to bow down, blend with the crowd.
But not anymore: your voice is a blade,
Cutting through roles that fear had made.
No painted smile, no delicate grace,
No room for lies in this reclaimed space.
Keep spinning your stories, defending your pride
Truth is a spotlight.
Nowhere to hide.
Storm
Smothered in storms
Lightning, it hits
Attacking each part
That still stings
I wait for the clear
It’s finally here
And the clouds roll in
Trapped again
One day it will only
Be a rolling cloud
Little sprinkles
Void of lies
Until that day
I stand in the pour
Hating breath
Tender, sore
Stay
The clock, it ticks
for me, for you.
The only thing
you have to do
is stay.
Stay in the anger,
stay in the pain,
stay in the loss,
stay in the shame.
If you leave us
much too soon,
the winter storms
will miss the bloom.
The anger softens,
pain will fade;
loss will remember,
you will slay the shame.
And if you’re drowning
in yourself,
wait for the breath
I promise it’s coming.
This isn’t it.
Ivy
I, an oak
Them, the leaves
Seasons change,
they fall from me.
No feeling comes
for all their fall,
each one drifts,
as good as gone.
But something different
takes its root,
digging deep,
a tender shoot.
It wraps me steady,
fully gone,
the piece of me
that’s missed so long.
Intertwined,
you wander deep
through my branches,
through my sleep.
My roots are taken
by your spread;
my heart now aches,
my soul now dreads.
Ever changed
and bound to you—
I don’t know what
we are to do.
Family
Table set
Attention caught
I can’t relax
I taste the rot
Smiles chilling
Not reaching eyes
Overstepping
Practiced lies
Family gathers
They encroach
Supposed safety
Thin as hope
Tearing down
Others’ joy
Tiptoed stance
Damage known
Here it comes
Eyes locked on
Jagged words
Come from mom
Gravity
The earth it holds me
Gently down
Subtle weight
Heavy sand
I feel the pull
The pressure deep
Relaxing whole
My head to feet
Snug and warm
Embraced by the
Gentle pull
Grounded in something still
No need to fight
This natural fall
Trust the hold
Through it all
Reach
I see you there
across the sea,
endless waves,
ocean bleak.
I wave, I shout,
my arms above,
always shouting:
“It’s you I love!”
I hear your call—
it echoes true.
All I want
is to reach you.
Endless days
upon the shore,
waiting, hoping,
wanting more.
My calls of care
they never cease;
I scream it loud,
No decrease.
You look closer,
not as far.
I think I’ll reach you
after all.
Boards and planks,
nails and hammer;
I will not falter,
I will not stammer.
Connecting pieces,
pouring glue,
I swear to God,
I will reach you.
