In this No Place AU, Knuckles and Sinna have a troubled past. Knuckles was the Captain, and Sinna was his quartermaster. Over time, they became lovers, a powerful pirate couple.

But one day, Knuckles - in his unhealthy search for the Devil's Lighthouse - caused them to lose their main ship. Sinna, tired of Knuckles' always messed up orders, organized the crew to abandon their captain.

Then, Sinna became Captain Sinner, while Knuckles found another crew.

Despite everything, behind their apparent unconditional hatred, they both still have love for each other. Every now and then, when they cross paths, there are arguments and perhaps even physical violence. However, as soon as their crews fall asleep, they find a way to meet up and you know the drill.
