Sunday mornings were sacred.
At least according to Cuphead.
Sunday mornings meant no alarms.
Cuphead slowly opened his eyes to sunlight sneaking through the curtains and immediately felt warmth pressed against his side.
Bendy was still asleep, arms wrapped around Cuphead’s waist, face buried against his side while softly snoring.
Bendy responded by hugging tighter without waking up.
Still trapped under sleepy demon boyfriend weight, Cuphead grabbed his phone from the nightstand and opened the group chat.
Without thinking too much, he snapped a picture.
Himself looking half alive.
A picture appeared from Mugman.
Cuphead immediately burst out laughing.
Mugman was sprawled on a couch looking absolutely destroyed.
On one side, Cala Maria was asleep using his shoulder as a pillow.
On the other side, Boris the Wolf was somehow halfway laying on Mugman.
Mugman: Morning. Still recovering from movie night.
Cuphead typed immediately.
Cuphead: YOU GUYS REALLY PASSED OUT ON THE COUCH??
Mugman: Yes.
Mugman: That movie was so boring.
Cuphead: Didn’t it have like amazing reviews?
Mugman: Reviews lied.
Mugman: Two hours of sadness and boredom.
Cuphead snorted loudly enough that Bendy shifted slightly.
Then another message popped up.
Felix smiling confidently while holding a racket.
Beside him stood Oswald looking much sleepier.
In the background were Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse looking exhausted already.
Cuphead stared at the picture in horror.
Cuphead: ARE YOU PLAYING TENNIS THIS EARLY ON A SUNDAY??
Felix: It’s not that early.
Felix: Sports are healthy.
Immediately three messages appeared.
Oswald: Correction: Felix forced us.
Mickey: HELP.
Minnie: HE WOKE US UP AT SUNRISE.
Cuphead was already wheezing.
Mugman sent another message.
Mugman: Since when do you even play tennis?
Felix answered almost instantly.
Mickey: Since now.
Minnie: FIRST TIME.
Oswald: I’m not really playing.
Cuphead: ???
Oswald: Mostly I just stand here looking pretty with the racket; Felix does all the work.
Mickey: THAT’S NOT FAIR.
Minnie: HE’S CRUSHING US.
Mickey: WHY IS HE SO FAST??
Felix: Break is over.
Felix: Back to the game.
Mickey: SAVE US.
Minnie: PLEASE.
Cuphead laughed so hard the bed shook.
Beside him, Bendy finally groaned awake.
Cuphead turned the phone around.
Bendy squinted at the messages.
“…Felix made them do tennis?”
Across town, Mugman smiled sleepily at his phone before putting it down.
Without moving too much, he carefully nuzzled deeper between Boris and Cala Maria.
“This couch is surprisingly comfortable,” he mumbled.
Boris, still half asleep, accidentally threw an arm across Mugman’s face.
Meanwhile back in bed, Cuphead put his phone aside.
He looked down at Bendy still clinging to him.
Then leaned down and kissed the top of his head.
Bendy immediately nuzzled closer.
“You’re warm,” Bendy mumbled.
Neither moved after that.
Outside, Sunday continued.
Nobody had plans to leave their blankets anytime soon.
