THEY ENJOYED WATCHING HOWL become annoyed at having to repeat himself and Victoria almost asks him to do it again- that is until his finger is pushing down the screen of their laptop and began to lecture them. Blue eyes narrow slightly at him before leaning back in their seat, arms crossed. “Oh, you mean how the left side of your jaw tend to twitch when you’re annoyed or how you always seem to have perfect hair even though there’s no reason to?” Maybe the last one wasn’t a real tell but it annoyed Victoria anyway.

“OR HOW THAT WOMAN,” they point to a patron across the coffee shop who’d been there nearly as long as Victoria had all morning. “Hasn’t stopped looking at her phone ever ten minutes on the dot. She’s waiting on news from the hospital. See the visitors badge on her purse? Or how the barista who served the last three coffee spit in them because that same business man always comes in last minute and gives them no prep for large company orders?” At this point, they’re on a roll.

FINALLY THEY ROUNDED OUT their point back to people Howl would know and somewhat trust. “Ever noticed how Leslie always leaves his things behind if he has to go to the bathroom? Nothing else on his mind, just the need to pee. It’s kind of funny and the things I’ve found out about him because of it. So don’t start to lecture me on human interaction or the con of anything. I pay more attention than anyone else in this group so do yourself a favor, Howl, and shove your ego back up your ass. I’m not here for it.”

FINGERS PAUSE ABOVE THE KEYBOARD as their attention is drawn from the screen to the other person. Blue eyes lift toward the other as a small grin spreads across their face. “– Honestly, I got nothing of what you said.” Cue innocent laughter from them before gesturing wildly at their companion. “Feel free to repeat yourself or tell me to fuck off. 𝒽𝑒𝒶𝒹𝒸𝒶𝓃𝑜𝓃 ／ one

People tend to underestimate Victoria. They expect them to be exactly like their family and it’s how they’ve gotten away with so much. Victoria has had people tell them that they’re too pretty to be smart, that they’ll just marry a rich man and be the perfect home maker- the thought of that had Victoria fighting mad for days.

Reality is, Victoria is nothing like their older brother. In comparison, some would even wonder if they were truly related at all. But people will always see what they want to see and Victoria has always used that to their advantage. They’re armed with secrets and blackmail to get what they want and if they don’t have anything, give it time because they will later.

Small, pretty, and seemingly unintelligent, Victoria is an underdog in the fight. People seem to think they’re nothing but a pretty rich girl who gets out of things because their criminal father makes it happen. They can’t deny it outright- sure, Nathan Sinclair has used some of his dirty influence to get his precious daughter out of a tight spot but that’s about all the parenting the man has ever done for Victoria.
