what will you do about jason when you have to go back to the future?
❝ i try to not think that far ahead. i don’t know why that’s even a big deal.. we just hang out. ❞
u exclusive?
❝ i’m exclusively a badass. ❞
you got a boyfriend?
❝ i have a... jason. who happens to be a boy. he just happens to be decent company in this time. i wouldn’t call him a boyfriend. ❞
seems like you might've tamed the red hood
❝ i don’t know what you’re talking about. i haven’t tamed a damn thing ever in my life. tame is boring. ❞
favourite legend?
❝ can i say myself? i mean, i’m not one in this time but the future –– nevermind, i’m really not my favorite anyway. i guess i would have to say sara, she is kind of my aunt and all. ❞
so you into girls or boys?
❝ okay but why not both ?? ❞

jason was silent. pain was his teacher. sure, bruce was too once upon a time, but before and after him jason was by himself. he had to navigate the world by himself. bruce might have saved him, but he also abandoned him – just like his mother. he didn’t feel saved at all. “well then, you’re lucky. no one saved me,” he shrugged, going silent once more. “sometimes pain is all a person has to hold onto, it’s as good a teacher as anything else.” pain stemmed from experience, and in turn that experience goes towards preventing future pain. one way or another, it’s made him who he was and is.
before he could continue to drag himself down with the conversation, he was startled by how much he apparently wanted to stare at the woman. being that close to her – even if it was for a brief moment – only furthered his desire to close the distance for a lot longer. he was barely able to juggle that thought when the cushion was removed from his grip and a smirk was slowly appearing on his lips. “is this you admitting that i’m handsome and that you want to look at me some more? i can have that arranged, you know. it’s also not the only part of me that’s fucking amazing – just saying,” he offered her a wink as hands reached out to try and gain possession of the cushion once more. when she pressed it against his chest, an eyebrow arched and for a fleeting moment he seemed impressed. “i’ve faced my fair share of ninjas,” he pointed out. after all, he was trained by talia. lifting his soft blue hues to her brown, jason slowly snuck his hand onto her waist. then, without warning, he flipped them over so that she was pinned below him. “what was that about you being a ninja?”
❝ yet here you are. ❞ she pointed out simply in response to the notion that he’d never been saved, though part of her is intrigued by his stance on the topic. it seems too personal for her to dig further, too soon to ask the questions that had crossed her mind. instead, she lets it go with a simple nod to be remembered at another time when it could be more appropriate.
it had been a while since she was able to really smile, without it being fake and forced upon her lips. if she thought about it, if she remembered the failures that led her here, smiling would be no option. yet, this man that she’d only just begun to know seemed to possess an ability to distract her mind and focus in on him instead. ❝ i suppose you aren’t so bad to look at, but what exactly could be so amazing? is it a big, incredible personality? ❞ she grinned teasingly, though genuinely caught by surprise as she felt her back hit the couch and the weight of his body of her, she stilled for a long moment – eyes carefully watching his. she didn’t want to misjudge the situation and this was far from her area of expertise. hesitant hands moved to rest on the back of his neck, softly pulling him down closer to her while dark eyes flicker to his lips, contemplating how they’d feel. there’s a fear in her though, that she’ll screw up somehow, so her leg hooks around his instead, and her body turns with a force that rolls them off the couch, her smaller frame now over his. ❝ you should really never question a girls ninja capabilities. ❞

And you seemed to have failed in your maths. Can’t you see there’s a lot more of us than there is of you?
Guess again, Brick-head.

Damian switched the sword between his hands, pondering where her allegiances lied. “ sin.” Letting the name roll off of his tongue, “ how bout an explanation? you think my form is off? I think it’s spot on.” an efficient bulldozer, but sometimes played with his prey.
her shoulders shrug casually, seemingly at ease. she has weapons of her own, safely tucked away on her though easy enough for her to pull out in the instant they’re needed. ❝ you shouldn’t take it too personal, it’s very likely that i had a better teacher than you. ❞ she doesn’t really have anything against him, only making the comment for her own amusement. ❝ there was a moment, that thug would have never seen it, but your knee was vulnerable. only for a few seconds, at most, but i saw it. ❞

Robin spun around, knocking a goon in the face with his fist after leaving a gash on his leg when he charged robin. Shaking his sword loose of blood, he held it down towards the ground but circled the woman, “ What are you supposed to be?”
dark eyes observed him carefully. she admittedly hadn’t done extensive research into this time period before jumping into it, but she knew who he was. ❝ that depends on who you ask, but most people just call me sin. ❞

“ Pathetic, just like the rest!”
❝ you know, all i still see is bad form. i thought you were supposed to be skilled, ❞

“right well i’ll keep that in mind.” she said before nodding. “everyone back home knows about breaching and stuff, nothings really a secret back there.” olivia stated. “i was a vigilante back home, kind of wanted to give it a break when i got here.”
❝ some people will know here, but a majority of the population will look at you like you have five heads. ❞ she shrugged before giving a nod. ❝ well you’re in a city full of vigilantes so i guess if there was a place to take a break, it’s here. there’s always someone to handle the emergencies. ❞

Dinah looked at the other woman, she was there in the building that collapsed, she’d thought she’d been somewhat familiar, she’d called her sister and the DA had suspected something, but had otherwise been too preoccupied to actually give it some actual thought. “Your english has gotten better” was all she said as she ordered another drink, if it weren’t for the fact that she’d never told anyone about her daughter, or if her sister wasn’t a time traveler she probably would have thought someone was messing with her. But there was no way she would now about her being the Black Canary and the name Sin if she wasn’t who she said she was.
seeing her adoptive mother do this to herself breaks her heart, but knowing there was nothing she could do to help only hurt her further. this was the past and she wasn’t meant to be here, not meant to affect dinah’s timeline which meant she would have to recover without her. letting out a sigh, sin took the ordered drink and threw it down her own throat before dinah could get to it. ❝ yes, somewhere in the himalayas a fourteen year old version of me is working very hard on it as we speak. for you, so you’d be proud. well, that and a few years with some time traveling legends doesn’t hurt. ❞ she shrugged before gently nudging dinah up. ❝ come on, lets get you home and we can talk more. ❞

“— i guess we do,” jason shrugged. diverting his gaze to the water she gave him, he tried to push the fact that he had just said the most honest thing in what seemed like forever. so, naturally, he had to follow it up with something a lot less honest to make up for it. “let’s hope it knocks her down a peg or two, then. no one likes a hypocrite,” he added. it wasn’t like he could talk either – though that wasn’t going to stop him – he had devolved to a life of crime and killing since his resurrection, so was that any different from the black canary turning to a life of alcohol and disappointing those she was supposed to be there for. jason worked alone, that way he couldn’t disappoint anyone but himself.
“what makes you think that i don’t have a mask? i could have one that’s hidden. you don’t know me, sinbin. for all you know, my equipment is hidden all over your place by now. like…” he placed his glass of water down on the nearby table then grabbed one of the couch cushions from behind the girl’s back. with his face close to hers, he offered up a wink then held the cushion in front of his face so only his nose downwards could be seen. “see? better disguise than batman,” he snorted. “is that a challenge, sin cos tan? because, you know, even if i can’t breathe properly right now, i can still hold my own. i never back down.”
her relationship with dinah is hard to explain, and her feelings towards the current issue is even harder to put into words. english isn’t sin’s first language, though she’s worked hard to learn, certain things are more difficult to place. her shoulder’s shrugged instead, legs tucking up so her knees are pressed to her chest. it’s a guarded position, a sign that a button had been pressed. ❝ she’s saved my life before. i could never wish her harm. pain, physical or emotional, is not an ideal teacher. ❞ effective, though. sin knew too much about the topic, her first memories aren’t of family, but of lessons and discipline that she’d later learn to be abuse.
despite the sensitive nerve struck for her, he’s amusing and a grin threatened it’s way to her face. she tried to hide it, lips pressed together to conceal a laugh. he was suddenly close though, and she must have been distracted, because she didn’t notice him grab the pillow until it’s in front of his face. sin’s alarmingly quick in retaliation, and snatched the pillow away mid sentence. ❝ you shouldn’t cover your face, it would be a great disservice to the community. ❞ the words sounded nearly foreign to her, because she’s never really flirted before. she pressed the pillow to his chest instead, leaning forward to seemingly accept the challenge. ❝ before you go trying to fight me, you should probably know i’ve been told i am kind of a ninja. ❞
