So we drove on toward death through the cooling twilight.
F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
Master of the House
Sequestered in Lamoria was a charming but imposing estate known as House of Kerrington. The manor’s gardens were sprawled with interesting ornaments from weeping angel monoliths to trimmed rose garden mazes. It was quite the site to look at; dreary in the winter but surprisingly colorful in the summers. It wasn’t really hot in Lamoria, but whatever warmth came was enough for flora to grow.
Gwylliam Kerrington, founder of House Kerrington, had been long time friends with the late Blackwell. He would typically like to reminisce on the times when they would hunt together, or throw parties together, or when Will was barely a noble sworn to his Master’s service. After all, his Lord and Master was also his Sire.
Everyone knew the story of his Master’s demise. The old bat turned cruel and was the worse of them. Will was blessed in the fact he didn’t fall under the compulsion of Blackwell, a secret he planned on keeping until his true death. He loved his Sire; would tell him everything and yet self preservation and awareness of Blackwell’s mental decline kept him quiet. Many of the slaves, nobles, and people of Blackwell turned to Will for leadership and revenge, but he had other plans. A purge was necessary to cleanse the old lines and in with the new. And so Gwylliam Kerrington slaughtered the opposition and claimed his throne of House Kerrington.
