“Oh now don’t get too jealous Ed, darling. You’re still my favourite.”
“But of course I am, I know how hard it is to replace me.”
“One of the best things I’ve ever done is move into this building. Angelo at the bar is my new best friend.”
“I don’t know I should feel about this statement, however, I do must agree that his drinks are perfect.”
I love you, as much as I did before.
Persona (1966) dir. by Ingmar Bergman (via violentwavesofemotion)
“And what are you insinuating? I’ll have you know I can hold my own without assistance.”
"Alright, go ahead then."
Setting the pile back down momentarily, he looked through, pulling the book out and handing it to the other. “Oh, yeah, I did–.. here you go,” John smiled. “Thanks for letting me borrow it.”
“What are friends for, right?” Edward replied absentmindedly while he took the book. “Sorry again for bursting here, but you know, I can get really anxious sometimes. Where are you heading to?”
“Hm—…?” John looked up, pen tucked behind his ear. “Is there something I can help you with?” Gathering his books into a pile, he stood up. “I was just headed out–.. but, I can spare a moment.”
“Actually I was wondering if you finished to use the J.M.Barrie book, professor Tremaine gave me a research about fairytales.”
The male sat down, a smile etched on his features as he remembered. “How would I forget? My father would always rant about it when we got home.” When the waitress arrived Edward asked for a chocolate one instead of vanilla. “It’s my favorite.”
“I think it’s safe to say we knew how to leave an impression,” after the waitress noted down Edward’s request, she offered her a courteous nod in return before turning her attention back to him. “Is it bad I’ve never particularly cared for chocolate? I’m the same with ice cream; I love it, it’s a rather nice treat. But in the form of a drink, or desert, I can’t stand it.” Wendy wrinkled her nose up, and chuckled. “Other flavors… I like those; strawberry especially,”
"I know." The male replied quietly as he leaned his head to one side, he was genuinely enjoying this situation. "Sometimes I think you forget I was your best friend." He teased her shaking his head, amused with all the memories this situation was providing. "I don't like that much of ice cream." he shrugged a bit. "Yes, I do like it, but it's a desire from the moment, I wake up wanting ice cream, rather than that I don't eat it, never knew why."
“Like old times. Yes, I want one.”
”Do you remember the diner we used to run away to when you came over to visit? My father would look for us for hours,” she smiled, signalling a waitress over. “It’s almost as delicious here; but not quite.”
The male sat down, a smile etched on his features as he remembered. "How would I forget? My father would always rant about it when we got home." When the waitress arrived Edward asked for a chocolate one instead of vanilla. "It's my favorite."
“It’s a vanilla milkshake; y’want one?”
"Like old times. Yes, I want one."
“Yes I know, I think that’s the third time you told me that.” The male mumbled as he put a box on the floor. Althought he sounded grumpy he was genuinely enjoying to help his friend, not the act of carrying boxes but seeing her happy. “Coffee, yes. And maybe a break?”
“I just want to make sure you know how much I appreciate it, okay?” Liz laughed gently. After folding some boxes down, she slid an arm around Ed’s waist and pointed out the room. “Come on then, coffee it is. The kitchen and bedroom are done now, so I think that deserves a break.” She turned and began to head out her room, through the lounge and into the kitchen. After growing up in Penthouses, it was comforting to have so much room again. “Latte? Mocha?” Grabbing different bits and pieces, Elizabeth began to make the drinks.
"Alright alright." He laughed as he shook his head, putting an arm around her shoulder, giving her a half hug as he kissed her head. "Thank God to that. How only one girl posses so many things to fill a whole apartment is still quite a mystery to me."The male watched her grab everything wondering how she could find everything in that mess. "Latte. May I offer my help?"
Liz kicked the suitcase under the bed and then turned with a smile on her face. “Thank you again for helping me move. I’ve not an actual clue where Hatter is at to be quite honest. I’ve still yet to tell him about the piano,” The blonde beamed. “I’m just excited to have a big place to myself again to be honest. What with my Mom moving to LA, I feel like I can spread my wings a little more.” She ran a hand through her hair as she looked around her bedroom one last time. “Do you want a tea or anything? Or coffee? I have a milk steamer and everything!”
“Yes I know, I think that’s the third time you told me that.” The male mumbled as he put a box on the floor. Althought he sounded grumpy he was genuinely enjoying to help his friend, not the act of carrying boxes but seeing her happy. “Coffee, yes. And maybe a break?”
“I don’t believe my father sees it that way,” she replied in a soft tone, a faint smile etched onto her features. Despite the situation, she always found comfort in his presence alone, and that was something the ordeal had turned around. She felt even more weary of being careful with her words, the topic being like that of an open wound for the both of them. The last thing she ever wanted was to upset him. “Have you discussed it with you parents yet?”
“I guess he doesn’t.” Edward always knew why George wanted so much for his daughter to marry him. Because of his title. That thought alone could make Edward get sick. “I guess you know the answer already.” Sighing heavily the male looked over the girl beside him, that face he knew since they were children, it didn’t change at all. “You seem resigned with this situation.” Edward observed, an affirmation more to himself than to the girl in front of him. The feeling of curiosity took hold of his mind, with suspicious eyes he stared at her, searching for answers in her face, something he failed miserably . “What changed?”
“I could use a distraction from wedding preparations, I suppose.”
Edward looked upa at her from his paper, a suspicious air on his eyes. “You can rest, there won’t be a wedding.”The male pointed out as he set his eyes back on the paper.
“That bastard owes me money and you let him get away!”
“Psychological terror is way more effective than physical aggression.”
“I’m sorry okay? Next time I’ll make sure to become best friends with your girlfriend so I can help you pick out the perfect gift.”
“I don’t need that, I just need a friend who can help me, but you know what? Never mind, I’m certain Liz will help me, don’t worry.”
“That’s different. I think the opinion of one of her friends would be more useful than just any female and if all you seek is a feminine opinion you could just ask any female employee here. Cameron? Carmen? It’s close enough. Besides the fact that I don’t know her name just proves my point that I don’t know her well enough to be helping you with this.”
“Alright, so as you so nicely put you can go if you want.”
