peeling those sour rainbow gummy strips into long thin strings and putting them into cheap energy drink to create something im calling battery acid spaghetti will update once ive finished it
dont do this
I really hope its not too bad bc i actually love both components.
it forms a dry skin at the top made of the sour pellets. not a great start.
tastes really good actually. i also feel like i am about to explode.
do not do this.
Unanimous consensus: Do not do this
Other people: Hold on I’m about to do this
Rip to y'all, but I'm built different. Trying this tonight
Best I can do with what I have (I'm at work rn)
Oh that is a... fascinating smell
Don't do this
Alright now I’m curious
Didn't have strips so I made what I call battery acid cereal
Don't do this
Roko's Basilisk is bullshit but I entirely believe in this specific infohazard
I love how Tumblr can agree on absolutely nothing except that you should not do this
I worked in food manufacturing, sour candy is made sour with an acid usually citric acid as it keeps forever is a preservative and is cheap as all get out.
When we used it it was to balance out the mouth feel of different products. We wanted a nice sharp bite to things like lime or raspberry and used citric acid to get it as opposed to a smooth buttery mouthfeel of say a caramel.
Cheap energy drinks are probably already using a fair amount of citric acid to give you the mouth feel and flavor profile of a lemon lime beverage or slightly beyond to make you feel like you just drank something potent. So... adding a spur candy that is ALSO using citric acid but crystalized on the outside and then dissolved sugar in the gummy bits (which won't dissolve as readily being trapped in the gummy) will overload your senses with too much acid and trigger a "poison don't eat this" response from your body.
Possibly if we heated it to dissolve the gummy and release the trapped sugar from the candy? But I cannot fathom the horror of heating this concoction up.

not gonna lie, kind of obsessed with this lil freak
I want 12 of them
I want a fanfic(s) about the Organization XIII during 358/2 days like we saw for the Avengers circa 2012. Give me Luxord spending hours in the bathroom on his eyeliner. Give me Xion hacking the doors to smack specifically Saix in the face. Give me Axel getting spooked by the toaster.
It bothers me when KH3 fans dismissively say, “Well, now that Subject X has been introduced, it proves that there was never any basis in canon for Isa being experimented on. It must've just been a silly headcanon. Like Demyx being the MoM. These fans collectively made it up all on their own with no textual evidence from the games and now they are just salty that their baseless fanfiction didn't come true." I've heard that a lot post-KH3. And man, it is such a cop out. It's simply used to excuse the writing of KH3 to make it seem better than it actually is. Anyways sorry for the damn novel. There's no other topic in KH that I'm as passionate about as this.
KH2: I always thought experimentation was the basis of Axel and Saix's characters. Even in KH2, those subtle implications were there. You've got members I-VI being the original apprentices. Then VII-VIII (the ones who joined immediately afterwards) being the most... mentally unstable members. Nobodies are "incomplete people who wish to be whole." They "don't have hearts but remember what it was like". Axel gleefully murdering several former apprentices in C.O. while being tearfully obsessed with getting his “best friend” back? Saix being a raging sociopathic lunatic who was still painted as tragic because he yearned for his lost heart? Oh, I definitely suspected all along that something very dark happened to both of them in their past. I didn’t think they were friends. But being test subjects who lost their hearts made the most sense to me at the time. And none of the subsequent games had anything to suggest otherwise. Quite the opposite, in fact.
Days: This game further emphasized that Saix was unique. He couldn't even pretend to emote like the other Nobodies. He couldn't see Xion and Xigbar taunted him about it. It always made me think that there was some secret about his condition, like Xemnas or Roxas. I did not get the impression that he was just a normal Nobody. People say his behavior was caused by his rift with Axel. No. Why did Axel push him away to begin with? Because when he returned from C.O. Saix didn’t act worried about him and just saw him as a tool to find the Chamber.
Plus there was the way he'd call Xion "broken" or "defective". In Japanese it was “failed experiment”. However, Xion was performing quite well as an experiment. There was even a scene in the Days novel where Xigbar specifically insults Saix by praising how well Xion is functioning, then laughing under his breath. What was that all about? The implications? Saix was projecting his own hangups onto Xion because he was jealous of her. She was not only the "perfect model" who impressed Xemnas (and Saix did have a trauma bond with him). But Axel was also fond of her.
On the day called "Memories", Saix knew Xion would collapse. He allowed Axel to witness it to punish him. Watching Xion collapse and not wake up triggered Axel. He felt genuine fear. And when Saix called Xion "failed experiment" Axel was pissed. Again, the day is called “Memories". Saix then angrily accused Axel: "Does the past mean nothing to you?" Translation: "Don't you care anymore about what they did to ME, Axel?" This whole scene suggested that something VERY awful happened to them both in their past. The text was clear. Something broke Saix. Emotionally. Mentally. Physically. Axel was warped, too, by witnessing it.
People who think Isa was a victim of experimentation don't necessarily think he was strapped to a table. The experiments were conducted to cultivate and/or amplify darkness in the subjects' hearts. This process could've involved many methods, including psychological ones. Remember Saix's dialogue in KH2? "True, we don't have hearts. But we remember what it was like. We know very well how to injure a heart." According to the Ansem Reports, the failed subjects' hearts collapsed and they would not wake up. They were then imprisoned in the Chamber of Repose. This would explain the heated argument on Day 193 perfectly. And none of this would make Saix a less messy or morally gray victim. It would just offer a better explanation as to why he acted the way he did.
BBS: It completely blew me away how unrecognizable Isa was from Saix. He's a lot more different than any other Somebody vs Nobody. Even the ones who have canonically become their own people, like Roxas or Namine, share more in common with their Somebody than Saix did with Isa. That's why it's so baffling to me that the fandom acts like “Isa was always like that.” No! That's not what Bbs shows. Isa was sarcastic, but he had a sense of humor. He emotes. He's normal. He's not the Machiavellian zombie we see in Days. There's also the BbS epilogue that shows Isa and Lea sneaking into the castle, where we know those dark human experiments go down shortly thereafter. Isa somehow ends up with yellow eyes. Does anyone really believe Nomura put this scene in the game to imply that Isa and Lea ended up in Organization XIll solely to rescue a time-traveling girl from a future mobile game? A subplot that wouldn't go anywhere until at least KH4? Come on. Be honest with yourself. What kind of backstory did Nomura have in mind for them in 2010?
Re: Coded movie: In the HD remake, we saw Xigbar abduct Isa as the "poor soul". In an Ultimania that came out around the same time, it was said that Isa was retrieved and he had been tracked for a long time. The wording for "retrieve" in the Japanese Ultimania is used for either recovering dead bodies or for collecting test subjects. It's a very dehumanizing term that you wouldn't use for a living person. It's framed as though Xigbar was recovering a body. A piece of Organization property. No different to any other replica. Nothing about it was framed as though they needed Isa to consent.
KHDDD: KH3 defenders say "Norting was never supposed to be possession like with Terra". Are you kidding me? Sora was horrified that Xigbar would "turn into someone else". The vessels were all supposed to share a heart and mind with Xehanort and he was supposed to control them like puppets in the end. Xigbar maybe was an exception. But you’ll notice that MX simply needed to look at Saix, and he immediately jumped to attack Lea. They were all a hive mind in that scene. Xemnas said his experiments were conducted to "control the mind and convince it to renounce its sense of self." Naturally, if he was intending to turn a unique person into one of his "other selves" it would entail a very violating process. Saix hating puppets was apparently foreshadowing of how much he hated what he was. Even if he didn't truly know what he was. You take away the “puppet” parallels and you take away a lot of what made him interesting.
KH3: In this game, we're just told that Isa chose to join the Organization "to atone" and "to find Subject X". So let me get this straight. He was unconscious and briefly recompleted. And even after being tracked across time and immediately being "collected" by the cult and losing his heart again, hosting the evil overlord's heart again...NOW he is just "Isa"? A remorseful and selfless guy, worried for this missing girl, playfully teasing Lea at the clock tower, indulging in ice cream, being kuudere ("Well... I guess I was jealous. A little".) This is not the same character from Days or KH2!!! And this drastic personality change all happened offscreen because he had his heart back for a few minutes? Okay... That is anticlimactic.
This is why fans like me had such a negative reaction to Isa's redemption and called it "unearned". Not because it was a bad idea or that it wasn't narratively foreshadowed. But because the storytelling and execution was so uncharacteristically terrible, it was not emotionally gratifying. And if Saix and Axel's story in the future shifts from them being test subjects and only about the girl being a test subject? ...Well, yeah. It absolutely undermines what made the two so tragic and compelling in the first place. It makes their story about someone else's victimization, and not their own.

I hate lacenet so, so much
That's it, that's the post.
Ppl decided they were going to be Generic Tsundere Rivals before the actual game was out & anything was known about Lace's character, & then they plugged their ears and went "lalala" while acting like Generic Tsundere Rivals is somehow deep & groundbreaking. They're completely ignoring the real story for a generic stock ship dynamic.
I'm generally MYOB person and so I wouldn't even mind it if ppl didn't aggressively call you an idiot with no reading comprehension for paying the slightest bit of attention to canon & jumping on anyone who acknowledges canon to "correct" them.
60% of Lace's character is having this sibling jealousy toward Hornet because the thinks Hornet is Mother's Favorite(TM) or a descendant of her favorites & it's very central to the contrast between them that they're just not the same level of maturity or competence at all.
The dynamic between Hornet & GMS in which GMS is designed as being twisted evil mirror of Hornet as her personal bespoke villain & Herrah's role tried stop the Cycle of Cruelty Begetting Cruelty (that is... such a central theme) despite very limited means are all very grounded in the "fucked up family" subtext.
No, Generic Tsundere Rivals is NOT "deeper" or "more interesting" than complex tale of a fucked up family, cycles of mistreatment (generational trauma if you need there to be fashionable buzzwords) & the nature of power that we have in canon.
I'm not even like an aromantic person or one of those romance dismissive elitists, I'm a big romance lover a lot of the time, but this story just isn't about it (other than like, when the Green Prince shows up); It's clearly framed as a fucked up family thing, with Hornet adressing her as someone of a younger generation in the same way as she adresses, say, Runt and Nuu.
(& to say that they're equals but Hornet is mocking her, - first that's just really, really contrived - and second, that really fucks up that whole plot point of how Hornet shows her basic human decency despite being an enemy & the recurring dynamic where Hornet sees right through her but Lace doesn't clock a single thing about Hornet. If you read them as being the same maturity level/generation, you're effectively making Hornet a bully or an ableist for adressing her as she does. You can't have it both ways.
Like, Hornet calling her "child" doesn't need to meean she's a literal grade schooler, but it does mean different generations - In the same way Mr. Mushroom, WL or GMS calling Hornet 'child' suggests she is a younger generation compared to them. The designs in this setting are just kinda "cartoony creatures" & age, gender &attractiveness need to be derived from how other characters react. They even added the 'child' after the trailer cause they realized the design alone didn't convey it sufficiently. )
because this clarification is needed in this day & age: I'd never harass anyone under their fanworks/ff & I want nothing to do with fandom puritanism/moralizing ships, I just personally dislike it, but the way ppl keep aggressively forcing it down everyone's throat, insisting its canon & jumping like piranas on anyone who even acknowledges the canonical fucked-up-family subtext in the most arrogant self-important way possible has really, really soured me on it.
I'm sure there's some ok material out there but the majority is such that I automatically keep scrolling because I know it's gonna be extremly OOC. It's actually Hornet's character that gets the most distorted as ppl invariably have her respond to petty provocations in a way she just never does in canon, it just invariably erases everything that's interesting about her as an unique protagonist. (which is a pity because i would like some ffs about their canon charac/ canon dynamic. )
At least the wild misreadings of the 1st game were interesting to discuss & psychoanalyze, but here its just Forced Ship Disease utterly interchangeable with any other fandom. I like romance content as much as the next gal but not everything is romance. Do yall even remember there are other ways to interact with shit than just shipping?

You know, I was wondering if I was going insane throughout the episode, seeing how Lucifer's eyes are a little... I think duller is the right word, than Charlie's. I thought I was reading too much into it. NOPE, they are, and that's just such a heartbreaking little touch, he's so lost in depression- has been for thousands of years, likely (keep in mind charlie looks 20 but is actually like 2000 years old, and he was already like this when she was a kid) It really feels like he's given up hope- but the moment he sees who Charlie has become, he's so utterly proud that for a moment the light slips back into his eyes. It doesn't last long, and that's fine, he's clearly dealing with a lot. But just that little touch really shows how much he cares, made him one of my favourite characters in a heartbeat

Kingdom Hearts Redemption Arcs: Isa/Saix
To begin with, there are a few things to consider about Saix when looking at his actions in the original Organisation. Firstly, he became a Nobody when he was a teenager, before critical parts of his psyche had fully matured, and because he was heavily groomed and gaslit into believing he couldn’t ever feel emotions while he remained a Nobody (more so than any other member), this guaranteed that this part of him would remain stunted. Secondly, he was suffering an unbearable amount of pain at the time that he clearly could not cope with and had to deal with inwardly on his own, but due to Xemnas’ gaslighting likely didn’t have the self-awareness or emotional intelligence at the time to understand what he was feeling and realise he was deceiving himself. Thirdly, he had been possessed by Xehanort for at least a good while before the events of Days and 2, possibly for years, and unlike Xigbar he was not even aware of it, let alone consensual of it. The details are very unclear as to how exactly this affected him, all we can know is that he became a much colder, crueller person who was still driven by Isa’s personal motivations and capable of consciously working against Xemnas. These things don’t lessen the pain he caused, but they are so intertwined with him that it is impossible to separate him from these influences to clearly determine how reasonable it is to expect self-control or for him to be any different, and therefore how much responsibility he has over his actions, let alone how much atonement he must do. Of all the atoners, his situation is easily the woolliest.
As for his actions, Saix is a character with very clear reasoning and consistent motivations he never truly wavers from, so it’s fairly easy to understand why he did everything that he did.
The Castle Oblivion situation is a very tricky one, since we don’t know for sure how much of what happened came from Xemnas, Saix or Axel’s own initiative. All we know is that Saix gave Axel orders to eliminate some traitors that were sent to Castle Oblivion, which ended up being Marluxia and Larxene. However, since the founding members of the Organisation are either complicit in or directly responsible for keeping Saix and Axel captive there since they were children, the plot against them can be justified as an act of self-defence. The only apprentice Isa is shown interacting with since the end of the original Organisation is Even/Vexen, and the two would have had to work out any differences for cooperation to be possible in their plot to betray Xehanort in KH3.
Taking Kairi away from Axel, imprisoning her and using her to antagonise Sora was all done on Xemnas’ orders as part of the plot to control Sora and have him complete Kingdom Hearts, and it is made very clear that openly defying Xemnas is tantamount to death. His final scenes in 2 imply that he never even really wanted to toy with Sora in the first place, he would much rather take his revenge on him in proxy of Roxas for taking his best and only friend away and instigating events that ruined his life (more on this in a bit). Isa has yet to properly interact with Sora or Kairi post recompletion, and so has not had any opportunity yet to apologise and personally make it up to them beyond his contribution to Xehanort’s defeat in 3.
Manipulating Roxas and Xion into killing each other was definitely messed up, but again was done under orders from Xemnas once it became clear the two couldn’t co-exist due to Xion’s out-of-control powers. Neither of which was Saix’s fault. The pair can’t really blame him too much and say he shouldn’t have done it without expecting him to at least risk getting dusked or destroyed for them. It doesn’t make their situation any better, but it is understandable that Saix would choose goals and a friend he sacrificed everything for over a decade over a couple of kids he didn’t even know and one of which he thought wasn’t a real person, accepting their fates as unfortunate and unavoidable collateral.
Making Axel choose between a friendship with him and a friendship with Roxas and Xion was also complicated. While he was definitely trying to get Axel to choose him, Saix wasn’t the source of this conflict, the situation itself was. Axel couldn’t help earn Xemnas’ trust and carry out Saix’s plans to take control of the Organisation, find Subject X and get their lives back while he was deliberately defying Xemnas to protect Roxas and Xion. Jealousy was at play here, but Saix was also laying out a cold hard truth that their interests were mutually exclusive, and by nobody’s fault. If we’re also including their confrontation in the manga when Axel tries to rescue Kairi, I fault Axel more than Saix here. Not only was Saix at his most possessed here, he was also in Berserk form with limited awareness and memory, driven only by a desire to take out anything considered a threat, and Axel put Saix’s life at risk the moment he turned his back on him and put him in a kill-or-be-killed situation.
Lastly, the main one people think of, his unnecessarily cruel treatment of Roxas and Xion. This is the only one not motivated at least partly by some form of self-preservation or ulterior motive. One big point to get out of the way is the fact that Saix was fully aware of Xion’s nature from the get-go and she only ever looked like the white featureless animated mannequin Vexen showed him in the lab, no more human-looking than a Dusk, just dressed up in a black coat, and was likely under the impression from Vexen that she was merely an imitation of life. It’s understandable that perceptions like this would influence his treatment, though it was still a horrible way to treat someone regardless.
Sadly there is much more to it than that. His main reason for this is lashing out from suffering a colossal betrayal from Axel. He was forced to watch the three form bonds of friendship and get their hearts and humanity back while his own friendship with Axel crumbled and he remained empty, when out of all the organisation members, Saix was the most desperate to get those things back. The only friend he had - and a friend he constantly risked his neck for - ditched and replaced him when he needed him most. Despite warning Axel that their interests were mutually exclusive, Axel still chose to abandon Saix and an entire decade’s worth of goals Saix had sacrificed everything for and did nothing to stop their destruction until it was almost too late, all to protect Roxas and Xion. He lost everything he still had and cared about in the name of the trio’s friendship, and he became a hollow broken man and a brainwashed slave trapped under the command of an abuser he hated with almost no hope of escape or happiness. To make things worse, at no point does he ever understand why his life has gone so horribly wrong. His treatment of Roxas and Xion was reprehensible, completely undeserved and unfair regardless of how much control he had and unjustified for as much control he did have, but I am sadly not surprised in the least that this was enough to drive him beyond breaking point.
What he did to make it up to the three though is something that often gets overlooked because of how subtly it was implied in game (and possibly some wilful ignorance and denial from Saix haters), though Re:Mind helps a lot with this. As soon as he became more himself, he self-reflected, recontextualised his actions through his original values, felt remorse for what he did, put all his rage and jealousy and pain and pride aside, admitted his flaws and vulnerabilities, corrected toxic behaviour and saved the people he hurt. The idea to have Vexen and Demyx create and deliver the replicas for Roxas and Xion was his. He planned to bring back Roxas and Xion, betray Xehanort and orchestrate his defeat to save the world and craft the brightest future, and he risked his life to make that a reality. There is literally nothing more he could have done for them by this point in the story. The only thing I can fault with this is that it could have perhaps been made a bit clearer, an official apology is still owed and it wouldn’t have taken much effort to briefly add one during his “death” scene even if there is still a lot of talking out to do, though Isa is a man who speaks with actions more than words, and his actions spoke loud and clear. Overall, a great redemption that I can only fault for not getting quite enough spotlight.
(Interestingly his story has a lot of parallels with Riku, but with some critical differences. Riku was manipulated and possessed for a few weeks altogether, Saix went through years of it, and secondly Riku turned against Sora after mistakenly believing Sora would abandon him and Kairi, while Saix was absolutely abandoned by Axel when Axel turned against him.)

Yes. So good I recc’d it IRL.
And I’ve recc’d it here before, and I’ll do it again, I’m sure. Now’s a great time to jump on, though, cause you’ve got a bunch to binge but not so much that it feels overwhelming.
