GASP omg trust me I have SEVERAL.
First off, this wouldn't be an evan post (much less an angsty evan post) without rhe mention of Church Hurt Evan Rosier™. evans family is mega religious even in the magic universe btw, and I have a whole idea of how this would work, but its not abt that rn.
》 first off, Evan is 100% the choir boy at his family's church. Think, very small old white chapel, the family has been attending for generations type of thing. All the hymns are in Latin. So he's fluent in the language, but not for good reason.
》 Evan's family has a cross necklace that gets passed down through the sons. It burns whenever the person wearing it is caught commiting a deadly "sin".
》 This for me is where a majority of Evan’s bad eating habits come from. The cross would always hurt him whenever he ate "too much" (sin of gluttony) and often this was not enough to fill him. Even once his friends managed to remove the cursed cross, he lived in constant fear of eating too much. His portions were always strictly controlled at home too, and eating more than allowed was heavily shamed.
》 This is also why he hates being touched. He cant stand it. He feels so dirty and long showers are his heaven on earth. Except he hates the idea of his body, so he showers in the dark.
》 he was raised to believe that sex is a thing to fear, and should only be used for reproduction. Anyone who tries to pursue a romantic or sexual relationship with him, he starts to back away from, because he's convinced theyre trying to corrupt him.
》 barty struggles with this a lot because he doesnt understand why evan gets so angry when barty touches him. It takes a long time and lots of fighting for poor barty to finally start piecing things together.
》 evan isn't nonchalant, he's quiet. Talking takes energy and he isn't built for that. One of my favorite theories for him is that he didnt talk until he was almost seven years old. Its not that he couldn't, he literally just didnt want to. It was too much for him.
》 ughh evan with a mentally unwell mother. She has episodes, she sees things, she doesnt know who he is some days. She never gets help because the family doesnt want to be disgraced, so they hide it. Its evan who suffers the most and of course, he lives in constant fear of becoming exactly like her (he will become exactly like her- his fear of being so is what makes him lash out that way)
》 Regardless, poor evan still loves his mama.
》 he loves his dad too. He just wants to make them proud. But they are difficult and he never gets the love he should.
》 his church is insane too. More of a cult than anything. He's miserable there, uncomfortable, and scared.
》 11 year old evan rosier terrified of huge storms because his church always panicked and said they were signs of the rapture.

Whoever decided to kill off my favourite yellowjackets character to street spirit I hope you get in a plane crash in the middle of the wilderness and then your friends start a cult and then you have to resort to drawing cards and cannibalising each other in order to survive and you draw the queen of hearts so everyone's chasing you and trying to kill you but then a literal child dies in your place so you have to live with that guilt forever and then you're forced kill the closest thing you ever got to a father figure then even once you escape the wilderness you struggle with addiction and then your closest friend/boyfriend dies and then just as you're finally recovering and getting clean you die from an overdose just like you always expected
underrated yellowjackets scene is misty storming through the door of nat‘s hotel room while nat is mid-relapse, bodyslamming nat into next week, just fucking snorting all the cocaine before nat can get to it and then fighting for her fucking life because, evidently, misty quigley has never done cocaine ever before. zero thought process, zero consideration, zero alternatives. misty quigley woman of all time.
