As sad as Theon’s death was, it really was the most fitting end for his arc. He died a true hero, in his home.

Those of you saying that Jon was “useless” because he wasn’t the one to kill the Night King must have been watching a different show. He and Dany lit up thousands of wights. On Rhaegal, Jon forced the NK off undead Viserion, slowing his approach to Bran. Oh, and can you imagine anyone else, anyone, going toe-to-toe with a fucking dragon in a desperate attempt to get to his brother? No. Your faves aren’t that brave.

If you’re going to bitch about Jon because he wasn’t the one to slide the knife in, then you’re also dismissing the valour of Brienne, Jaime, Tormund, Greyworm, Gendry, the Hound and Dany, who did what they could against the wights. You’re scoffing at the mettle of Sansa and Tyrion, who didn’t run from death. Even worse: you’re invalidating the courage of Theon, Edd, Beric, Lyanna and Jorah, who lost their lives defending Winterfell and its people. Sure, the wights they individually killed seem inconsequential when compared to the NK. But they did that. They stood their fucking ground. They didn’t falter. Don’t bloody tell me their deaths mean nothing .

And another thing: if you don’t understand why it went down this way, then let me enlighten you: Arya’s arc has always been about death. Facing it. Worshipping it. Dealing it to her enemies. It makes sense she was the one to deliver the killing blow to death made flesh. And I’m so fucking proud of her.

can i just add that this stand, however dismal, wouldn’t even have happened without jon snow, going against so many odds, convincing warring sides to come together. tell me who else was going to do it. NO ONE. he didn’t care about how stupid he sounded talking about dead things coming for them, he didn’t care about his title, he didn’t care about ego. all he wanted was to do the right thing. and he did it, he did his part. arya got to save the world, all your faves got to do their heroic parts.
