Hi I'm planning on running another Chrisawa Weekend/Week this year before 2025 comes. Over on twitter (I refuse to call it x) I'm running a poll to decide whether its a week vs weekend.

Lancelot stood under the trellis, its roses still sweet and fragrant this early autumn evening, as he stopped and stared at you. No, not stare, he told himself. Admire. For that was how he felt when he watched you from a distance. Dressed in white, pure as snow, pure as your heart, pure as the white roses that grew in this garden, Lancelot couldn’t help but stand in awe, enchanted by your beauty under the glow of the moonlight.
Though he must have sighed too loudly, as you soon suddenly looked up from the roses you were admiring and turned in his direction. With a smile the sun would be envious of, you lifted the hem of your skirts and hurried over to him.
Returning your smile, Lancelot held out his hand to you; slipping yours into his, he gently tugged you towards him before leaning in for a gentle kiss. His hands snaked around your waist, pulling your body tight against his, your body still warm despite the crisp, autumn air.
“I missed you,” he whispered, before kissing you again, part of him happy to have found you out here allowing for a moment of privacy.
“It was so loud and noisy in there. I just needed a moment. Of quiet. To breathe.” Your gaze, steady on Lancelot, sparkled with the love you had for him. “I’m glad you found me. I missed you, too.”
The air surrounding you swelled with the music coming from the ballroom. “One dance, and then we return?” he asked. As the King of Hearts, he knew his time away was limited before someone would come looking for him, interrupting this special moment.
“It would be my pleasure,” you replied, slipping your hand in his. He wrapped his arm around your waist, your head resting on his chest as he held you close to him, as your bodies swayed to the music.
For that one song, you shared your moment under the stars. A moment of quiet. A moment to breathe. A moment to just be, just the two of you, alone under the stars surrounded by white roses.

There once was a time Lancelot did everything in his power to keep people at arm’s length, far from the dangers and darkness of his past. So scared of it spreading to those he loved.
And he had no time to spare on fears and anxieties. Not when he had a country to rule, a war to lead and Amon to control. So he did the next best thing, isolating himself behind high walls of frost and stone.
Chances are he would have kept it that way if it wasn’t for you.
You who came along and shuffled the cards, broke down his walls with gentle smiles and daring defiance. Forced him to face the fears that he’d been trying so hard to ignore even when they nagged at his mind and ate him from the inside out.
He had to come to terms with the fact that, in spite of his best attempts at keeping people safe, danger would always lurk in the shadows of Craddle. Whether he fought alone or not.
And with this came the realisation that you would never be safe. Not until Craddle became a safe space, not even he had ensured that no trace of the magic Tower remained. A thought that kept him up at night and haunted him in his sleep. That made his heart sink in his chest and his gut knot in his throat.
Because if Lancelot, the powerful King of Hearts, had one fear, it was losing those he loves. You especially, the person that pried his heart open and saved him from the cold embrace of death and loneliness.
He couldn’t count the amount of times he’d woken up in the dead of night, cold and heaving ragged breaths, ice blue eyes wildly searching the darkness for a trace of you. Heart only daring to beat again once he’d caught sight of you, peacefully sleeping beside him.
A sigh of relief flooding from his lips as he wipes the cold sweat from his brows, carefully lying back at your side. A strong arm around your waist and nose buried in the crook of your neck, your scent a grounding reminder of your presence and safety in his embrace.
And he’d do anything in his power to keep it that way.
Z for Zen (what makes them feel calm?)
Not easy to make the composed King of Hearts lose his cool, years of reign having forged nerves of steel.
However when Lancelot does find himself anxious or overwhelmed, he knows where to go and who to seek, your embrace and the safety of your arms always a good way to calm his racing heart and the storm of thoughts clouding his mind.
Silently, he approaches you. Sitting at your side and lying his head on your shoulder, blue eyes fluttering close as you gaze down at him, arm wrapping around his shoulders and fingers softly threading through golden locks.
He delights in your touch, the comforting sound of your voice and the warmth of your presence. Breathing in and out as he nuzzles the nape of your neck, heart light in his chest and head clear again as an amused chuckle leaves your lips.
“Sometimes you really remind me of a cat, you know?” You say jokingly. And he can’t help but chuckle along for he knows you are right.
“Mmhm…” He hums, the softest of smiles lifting the corners of his lips as he allows himself a moment to bathe in the present moment.
