Week 11
Week 11′s method was to think of ways to address a future university scenario. image above shows our teams idea which says we could use holograms for other ways to interact with an item. Question: Write about your strategy, why and how you are using which methods to address the future university scenario? Answer: My strategy on using methods to address a future university scenario would be system thinking and design thinking.
my idea would be an conveyor belt that also has a split routes, above the conveyor belt would show a directions of where it leads to.
System thinking would have to be for making the place a clearer path showing signs, and maps of the university so students will be able to get to their classes.
As for design thinking the conveyor belt would be the idea of it, as design thinkers they would make the conveyor belt, be able to go in directions straight from the lobby to their lecture section area.
Week 10 This weeks method was system thinking. System thinking is a way of understanding relationships among system parts, rather than the parts themselves. System thinking goes through the process, of looking at the system relationship as a whole, to understand the underlying problems we face. My image above shows a system thinking pattern mainly to do with coffee, as it can lead to many different mental changes. Q1. How could you use systems thinking in your creative processes?
A.1 The way I could use system thinking in my creative process would have to be I will have to see how it will fit into a pattern, for example if I'm doing something to do with a food stand. the it could be Food > drinks > seats > rubbish..etc would have to think of a system that people will go through at food stand. this way I have a deeper understanding of what people would potentially want, and that's how i would use system thinking in my creative process.
Q.2 How could this method complement (or contrast) another method we have explored in CTEC500? The way this method could complement another method for example Lo-fi - prototyping would be that, as you are doing you design on a idea. you could think about system thinking and ask yourself questions about your idea as your designing it as a lo-fi prototype. system thinking will complement the lo-fi prototyping & making it a more understanding idea
Week 9 interviewing wallet design the task for this was to interview a partner, and trying to get an idea on what kind of wallet they want, asking them questions such as what would be the most unique feature of a wallet for you? what is something a wallet must have for you to purchase it? what type of design, and material do you prefer for a wallet? it was an interesting task knowing peoples perferences
Sectional Drawing I really like this method because it lets us see the image in a different scaled perspective and with that you wouldnt have imagine how things were turned out if they were really smaller or bigger. Q1 consider how you would use drawing as a research method in your own work and tell us about that? A1. the way i would use this in my work would be mainly to see in different perspective and finds the limitations of the other perspective or scale seeing it in different views you can most likely see what will go wrong n not Q2 How might you use sectional drawing in other ways in your work? another way i would use this method would be to cut random objects and see which one sees interesting to work with my idea. it would be very interesting to see different variations of patterns
Design Thinking
I think that design thinking is a great way to showcase an idea on the way you present things to people. the design process, empathize, define, Ideate, prototype and test clearly shows how to planning is processed and seems to be easy to follow along with Q1. In what ways did this exercise assist you in creative thinking and generating ideas?
It helps us think ahead, plan ahead to make sure everything seems right and generated alternative ideas along side it to your design.
Q2. How might you use or adapt this method in future for your work?
The way i would use this in my future work is the design process because i think it gives a good indication of where your mindset should be. the thought of empathize, define, ideate, prototype and test seems like a perfect start off to a design process.

19/08/2020 Lo-Fi Prototyping! my idea is to have some sort of transparent roof sorta thing have a bit of shade, and there will be metal poles to hold it, and within those holes there will be a pipe that drains the water when it overflows so the water wont drop over to the person walking under the tarp as you go through Q1: Describe how this idea could be deployed. A1: my idea could be deployed by some sort of waterproof fabrics and strings to hold it along with some pipes to keep control of water
Q2: How did engaging with your ideas in three dimensions through prototypes help you better understand your design proposal? A2: it isnt shown in the image above but it made me realise how my concept would work out, and you can imagine all the possible when you are designing your idea i think lofi prototyping is a great idea to get a deeper understanding on how your design would work, i really like this method alot!
Our method today was soundscape, which made us walk around to specific areas and closing our eyes to enhance our listening abilities to hear what is going around us. Q1. Describe all the sounds you could hear in the soundscape. Use onomatopoeia to help you describe them.
Q2. How – through design or technology – could you make that space sound different?
Q3. What effect would your design have on people’s experience of that space? The first image shows Aotea Square.
A1. Showin in the image 4, i could mainly hear construction works, sounds like tap, tap, tap, zrrrrrrr ( sound of machine ), hahahahahha ( sound of people laughing ), krrrk krrrk krrrrk ( machine of contruction ) and japanese lauage from the big display screen A2. I would design something something that could mainly trap sound inside Aotea square so something to do with pillow because it absorbs sounds, A3. The impact that it would have on the people hanging out in aotea square would be more of a relaxing enviroment where you can sit, relax and watch the display screen or any other event that happens there. The 2nd image shows the park A1. In the park you could hear more of a nature type things is that included birds chirping, and the wind from the trees goes wooosh or ooooooo, I could also hear sounds of trucks reversing dert, dert, dert.... and more construction work that sounded like an eletric saw that sounded like zrrrrrrrr...... A2. For me i want would want to design that blocks off other sounds that isnt really nature related to that area, only thing i can think of is grow some hedges to block off outside sounds to make the park feel more nature like. A3. The effect would be people would feel more adventurous because of the nature sounds as well as the view of the place, so the sound will match what you see. The 3rd image shows the library
A1. Inside the library the sounds i could hear was clok, clok, clok as people walked pass with their footwear, sounds of automatic door opening, whooo, dooooo, and escalator sound which makes a sound like hmhmhmhmmhmhmhm... and the sound of the trolley holding book goes pass. A2. First i would design all the floors to be more of a sound proof carpet type, and i would also design a wall like thing to block off the sound from the escalator which was making all the noise. A3. This will ensure that the library is a lot more quieter than it was before.
Hello, this is the project we did for the method cultural probes, basically the idea is the ball rolls down and as it rolls down, there will be papers asking questions you can choose to answer or skip, when u reach the end, with answering questions or not it will suggest to use technology in order to help with the problem.
Q1: Now you have tested Cultural Probes, suggest another scenario where they could be used? I’m sure the cultural probes method would be a good way to show of a design in an early stage, and help review answers from different people. I think this method is good because it is usually a small project that you can bring anywhere to test out and find different results from different people. As well as having a bit of fun, and seeing different emotions pass through as they doing the activity for your cultural probe activity.
Q2: What might be some failings of this method, how might the probes fail to work?
I think the probes could fail to work if there isn’t a proper explanation about the idea, that you are wanting to address to the audience, and I feel like it will also be hard to be an insider, because you could know little information about the subject, and I feel like people would not act like their true nature, so could get abnormal results.
WEEK 1
This is a class activity we did today, the method was walking as a research method, basically we would walk around and somehow our brains would be more into a creative thinking mode where we would come up with ideas or think creatively , while we walked around.
Q1: In what ways did this exercise assist in seeing things you may have not have noticed before? For me it really opened up a bigger picture of viewing things because when i’m usually walking to my destinations, I don’t really look around, and just look directly ahead and focus on where i am going, but this method didn't really feel as effective as i thought it would, because i feel like I also didn't really generate much ideas to when i was drawing. Q2: How might you use or adapt this method in future for your work?
Because of the fact that this method wasn’t really effective to me, i don’t think ill really try it as much, or id like to give it another go as i’m discussing a group project with a colleague, and hopefully it will give me a different result than the previous time i tried this method.

Creative process for my idea There will be a system within my game where players can design their own outfits / clothes. The game offers a free template to get you started which is the first image the 2nd images shows an example of how the process of making ur own design works and shows which part designs which area and on the top left shows a mini figure of the whole part
This is my idea for COVID-19 Challenge where ill be planning a game where we we will be able to interact with each other virtually
28th April 2020
So today i was feeling a bit excited to see what new things we are going to be learning about today, i missed out on the online class but i ended up listening to the online audio while looking at the online sideshow, the context free art, it was really cool on what you can make out of it and it did look difficult to be honest but i wanted to try it out anyways, so after i looked at the slideshow and listen to the audio i decided to give it a try and install context free art but i ran into a problem and couldn't solve it.
