the psychedelic furs' first album was more punk than the sex pistols could ever be.

the sex pistols were punk in a "i hate the world, i hate the government, i hate the queen, fuck you" kinda way. the psychedelic furs were punk in a "life is demanding and people are stupid as hell and some of us really don't have our shit together but hey, at least we have each other" kinda way and both are beautiful.

we all know how great the furs early 80s output is but can we just talk about how good world outside & book of days are? the lyrical content on book of days is top notch & then the return to rock sound with a hazy doom & gloom atmosphere. it’s so *chef’s kiss* & then world outside has a ton of shoegaze elements & it’s sooo comforting & dreamy sounding but also heartbreaking at the same time. in my head is like a top 5 furs song for me <33 these two albums deserve sooo much more recognition
