Into the Future, Nottingham (and online)11th - 12th September
Sorry it’s been so long...
This exciting project is taking place next weekend, in Nottingham and via thisistomorrow.info/broadcasts .
It’s the culmination of my Space-faring think tanks residency in Nottingham.
Should be fun...

'Hidden Human Computers' - Black women working for NASA during segregation

'Professor Harris asked, ‘Is that where my grandmother would have worked?’
“‘No,’ she said. ‘That’s where the White women worked. The Black women were in another building about a mile away, on the other side of the gate.’”
These were women calculating the trajectories for America’s first manned space flights—segregated in a building with few amenities at a research center built on the site of the former Chesterville plantation. '
Radical science fiction and fantasy are remedies for the belief that there is no alternative to the violence and inequality that surrounds us.

Andromeda (Hubble/NASA/ESA)
This is the largest / sharpest image of 'Andromeda' ever taken.
The astrocosmonauts of my 'Intersectional Feminist Space Programme' are headed towards 'Andromeda.'
In Greek mythology, Andromeda and her parents Capheus and Cassiopeia are Ethiopian royalty (her parents are King and Queen). The idea of royalty isn't the key to my interest however; I enjoy the poetry of heading towards a galaxy named after an African woman whose name (in Greek) means 'ruler of men...'
Sarah Brightman is going to Space because her life is awesome and she gets to do cool things like that.

Sexy female robots..
Got me thinking - I can't recall seeing a 'non-sexy' female robot in a movie. Female robots = sexy. Male robots = funny or helpful / butler-esque.
We need some non-sexy female robots, or sexy male robots to balance it all out. Something like that.
