The driving force of Clancy (album but also the guy) is "I was supposed to be better by now." You were supposed to grow up and be past this. You were supposed to be "normal." Isn't that what you always used to promise yourself? What everyone promised? That it would get better One Day? When is that day supposed to come? When you're 25? 35? Maybe everyone was wrong and it never comes. Maybe you will always feel like you're the worst you've ever been when a new depression episode hits. Maybe you will truthfully always be as suicidal as you were when you were 14, but now you just have more (practical) reasons not to do it. Maybe you never really recover from the trauma and it just grows and changes with you. Maybe you're always going to feel like you're a half step behind everyone else your age because you spent all your golden years locked alone in your bedroom wishing you could stop existing or at least become someone else. Maybe you will always feel like you're lying to everyone when you act like you're fine. Maybe they will always pity you. Maybe this time around they'll finally admit what you already suspect, that they're tired of you and tired of this, and they'll leave.
And the theme of Clancy is, actually, really, you have gotten better. Every time. Even if you can't see it yet. And they're all still waiting for you, like they always have before, and like they maybe always will. People want to see you at your worst because they love you. You just have to swim a little to get to them. You just have to look yourself in the face sometimes
a balance between being saved by a friend, and saving yourself.
this is also the meaning behind the symbol btw! |-/

On top of non-stop military assistance for Israel's genocide campaign in Gaza, the US has continued to provide political cover for Tel Aviv
The US, on 29 February, vetoed a UN Security Council (UNSC) statement that would have condemned Israel for the mass murder of over 100 Palestinian civilians who were awaiting the delivery of humanitarian aid in Gaza City. “We don’t have all the facts on the ground – that’s the problem,” US deputy ambassador to the UN Robert Wood told reporters on Thursday. He then claimed there are “contradictory reports” about the Israeli army's latest massacre and highlighted that Washington was focused on finding “some language that everyone can agree on.” Thursday's veto is the fifth time Washington has blocked a UNSC statement or ceasefire resolution that would hold Israel accountable for the atrocities it has committed in Gaza.

Vessel by Twenty One Pilots released 10 years ago, January 8, 2013. Happy Anniversary!
The album’s called vessel and a vessel carries something that’s important but the outward shell of a vessel isn’t necessarily that important. The theory behind that is our bodies are going to die, but what we have inside of us is much more important than that, just like the meaning of a song or the message of a song will live on.
wait oh my god its vessel ten year birthday? hold on yall im about to be cringe

I think Tyler's christian songs from when he was younger feel a little different than other worship music because its like a teenager that feels flawed and broken crying for help in the only way he knows and not a worship band trying to come up with something that emotionally manipulates people
no ones mad that Tyler Joseph wanted to talk about mental health or suicide prevention.
people are mad that he basically made fun of his fans for asking him to talk about blm. all he had to do was tweet out some petitions or just not tweet that stupid platform joke and no one would have cared.
him acting like the backlash was because he spoke about mental health instead of because he made a joke out of the blm movement and didn't take it back is pure ignorance. and the whole 'there's no room to talk about mental health rn' shit was manipulative af, we've just come out of a quarantine, people have lost their homes and careers, people have been brutalised by the police and are having to protest for their right to not be killed. it's the perfect time to talk about mental health.
fuck Tyler Joseph
Tyler joseph has always been an immature #deep dude from hyper conservative and religious roots, what did y'all expect. He made a shitty insensitive joke and then projected with a bunch of #mentalhealth bullshit. He's always been kinda like this, just not about anything too serious. If I recall, the band got a lot of backlash for not speaking up when gay marriage was legalized *in the US. And now they speak freely in favor of the lgbtqa+ community. Give them some time, educate, but fucking Jesus consider your source - the man has never been a beacon of progressive thought or any elevated social commentary honestly. Also, it's just fucking twitter y'all... Don't look up to him for this and don't cancel him for this. It's minor and unfortunate and cringey and that's the end of it. Listen to their music instead and spend your time cancelling the truly disgusting people of power in the world.
