new tutorial based on this studyspo pic!! this one is super simple and only requires a black pen (or whatever you take notes in) and a marker (or, if you have none, a highlighter can work too!!)
Step One:
letter your text!!
i used a crayola supertip marker here
but if you donât have something similar, you can always use a highlighter like my last tutorial :)Â
remember: thick/down, thin/up
Step Two:
outline the thicker parts (downstrokes)
kinda hard to explain in words but you can see it better in the picture..?
ft. pentel energel in 0.5
Step Three:
color in the non-outlined areas with the same pen!!
and thatâs all there is đč

The bravest woman on Earth.
I love her. Forever reblog.
I have the utmost respect for this woman.Â
please reblog. reblog the way you would reblog a picture of a hot singer, a pretty girl, a tasty meal or some nice stationary. Because this will not make your blog âless aestheticâ or anything. This is important, far more important than anything Iâve mentioned before.
Weâve all been there: You have stuff you need to get done, you know you need to get it done, but no matter what you do you just cant get yourself to take out your stuff and do your work.Â

stop waiting on men to validate you. youâre pretty. youâre smart. youâre interesting. youâre worth time & effort. you deserve to be loved. you need to know these things and truly believe them. donât wait on some man to come along and tell you.
Watching my toddler figure out how to language is fascinating. Yesterday we were stumped when he kept insisting there was a âLego winnerâ behind his bookshelf - it turned out to be a little Lego trophy cup. Not knowing the word for âtrophyâ, heâd extrapolated a word for âthing you can winâ. And then, just now, he held up his empty milk container and said, âMummy? Itâs not rubbish. Itâs allowed to be a bottle.â - meaning, effectively, âI want this. Donât throw it away.â But to an adult ear, thereâs something quite lovely about âitâs allowed to be a bottle,â as if weâre acknowledging that the object is entitled to keep its title even in the absence of the original function.
Another good post to read for those writing small human characters.Â
My son was about three when he came to me in the middle of the day and said, âMommy, thereâs a knight behind the bush.â I thought he meant a toy knight or something. So I follow him outside and he goes, âListen. Do you hear it? Itâs night behind the bush.â It was a cricket. A cricket was standing in the little patch of shade under the bush, chirping. So, my son saw this dark area with accompanying nighttime sounds and decided, okay, well, that is a night right there. Their brains are incredible.
My little bean knows sheâs two, constantly saying proudly âIâm two!â And the other day she saw this very frail old lady who looked one foot in the grave, pulled a face and said âoh shiiiit. Sheâs three.â I almost screamed.
I live in Korea and have a lot of international friends, and the same is true with language barriers in adults.Â
*Looking at a bowl of pears* âCan you please pass me the⊠appleâs friend?âÂ
OH SHIT SHEâS THREE
itâs happened to all of us: weâve failed that test, forgot to hand in an assignment, or just seemed to be horrible at a subject, and in doing so, found ourselves with a less-than-desirable grade. so how do we fix that?
this is the method iâve used in the past, and i hope it helps you out! they work really well for me, but obviously your mileage may vary.
donât panic! this doesnât mean youâre stupid or a failure. even if you end up with a bad grade, it probably wonât matter in the long run. get some perspective. obviously this is much easier said than done, and iâm particularly bad about this haha
find the root cause. why are you stuck with this grade? did you do badly on an important test, paper, or essay? or is it more consistent in that you seem to get mediocre grades on everything? figure out whatâs bogging you down so you can fix it.
talk to your teacher. itâs more than likely that your teacher will understand if you talk to them â it shows that you are driven, and care about the class. donât worry if youâre nervous, just go to them after class or during a study hall, and say that you wanted to talk about a certain test/your grade in the class. if the root cause of your grade is an important assignment, go through what you missed, and if you donât understand why you missed something, ask them about it!!!! if you just canât understand the subject, you should let you teacher know as well. obviously, if your teacher is rude or if you donât feel comfortable talking to them, you donât need to do this. try asking a parent or friend for help instead.
find your problem areas. now you need to go through all your assignments and see what you tend to get wrong! if itâs more detail-oriented (i.e. dates, percentages, formulas), try using flashcards or repetition to memorize these. if itâs the other way around, and you seem to have issues fitting the big picture together, lighten up on memorization and try drawing diagrams or mind maps.
study smarter. find a well-lit, comfortable place to sit that fits your preferences, and get to work! using the strategies to fix your problem areas detailed in #4, take a look at your material. if you find yourself getting distracted, try to move on to a different subject, find a different study area, or just take a break.
if you are still having problems, talk to someone! tell your teacher/parent/friend that you looked over what you missed and tried harder, but you still arenât seeing a change. from there, you can get more tips on how to improve.
and thatâs basically a general strategy to use! a few miscellaneous tips:
if you tend to not do well on exams but do well on your homework, try to go over the big picture more. also, to make up for them, try really hard not to miss points anywhere else. so you may not do great on the test, but if you do well in assignments, reviews, homework, etc. you can really bring your grade up! not the healthiest tip, but it got me through geometry with an a!
if you have a midterm/final, study really hard for it!! this goes without saying but it can really make or break your grade
try having a snack before you study! it helps if you arenât thinking about food when you need to study for that final!
listen to music!! i love lofi hip-hop, try one of these livestreams!
so yeah! i hope these tips help you out!! this is my first ever resource post, so please give me tips and let me know how i can improve haha!

Good habits
Waking up early (like every day, even on weekends)
Going to sleep early (so you can wake up early)
Going for a walk every day (at morning or at night)
Drinking water before and after every meal
Eating breakfast
Stretching
Exercising
Reading something
Doing your work as soon as you get home
Planning your time
Taking time for yourself
Getting a shower
Brushing your teeth
Washing your face
Talking to your friends
Writing how your day was (memories for your future self?)
Being less than 3 hours on the phone
Not pressing the snooze button
Doing something good for someone
Being thankful for the day you got to wake up and for the day you lived through
college study tips that actually help
put your phone on silent and put it across the room
listen to classical/soundtrack music without lyrics
make index cards for important vocab
wear pajamas
make diagrams and pictures. they donât have to look pretty, as long as you understand it
make timelines for historical events
have a light snack
drink coffee or tea to keep you going
take a break every hour or so
have one pencil/black pen and one colored pen or highlighter. anything more will just distract you. the aesthetics arenât important, your knowledge is
donât be afraid to email/message your teacher or a classmate if you donât understand something. the last thing you want to do is learn the incorrect information
know that sleep and health is more important than your grade. you cannot perform as well on a test if you are tired or sick. take care of yourself
itâs not a race. itâs not about who can learn something in the quickest time, itâs about learning
take a deep breathÂ
prioritize your homework by how long it will take you and when itâs due
plan some you time in between studying and school
if youâre mentally exhausted, set a timer for 30 minutes and take a nap. any longer and youâll wake up even more tired
donât understand something? thatâs perfectly fine, donât stress over it. ask for help rather than complaining
have a goal in mind and write them down. say things like âi am getting an education so i can get the job of my dreams. the life that i want. the happiness that i deserveâ
be thankful. it is a privilege that you get to go to school and get an education.Â
you got this.
things you need to hear this exam season
- donât beat yourself up for struggling even if youâre doing your best - you are smart and capable so donât let laziness stop you from achieving your potential - stop self sabotaging. that tv show can wait. take a break but donât become your own obstacle to success. get shit done first - eating right, staying hydrated and sleeping well are non-negotiable. look after yourself - grades do not define you so be kind to yourself. but do your best and work hard for what you want
